“Fantastic resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

We stayed at the Imperial Adamas as a last minute decision as we hated our original hotel. We were VERY glad we chose the Adamas, it is a beautiful resort. It is on a secluded part of Naiyang beach, with a quick walk you can reach a small market area where you can get fresh seafood, great restaurant meals, there is a convenience store and also massage shops. The resort itself is beautiful the views are amazing and you are away from the hustle and bustle, it is a paradise!
It is also located close to the airport and the resort offers a shuttle service to Phuket Town and Patong. The rooms are beautifully appointed the staff are very welcoming and friendly and the pool is amazing. We will be returning next year and bringing the kids! We highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room!

We stayed here the last 2 days of a 10 day holiday and wished we were here longer. We had a roomy pool access room which was lovely to simply jump in and out of the pool at our leisure and with a lot of privacy for sunbaking, sitting outside and having a quiet afternoon drink on the balcony. The room was spacious with a well appointed bathroom and walk in wardrobe, great air conditioning...the best we have experienced in Phuket. The hotel has pretty much everything you need by way of ammenities and is located at the far end of Nai Yang beach which is beautifully clean in comparison to the main part of Nai Yang.
Walking into Nai Yang along the beach has to be at low tide or is a 300bht taxi ride. It would be great if the Resort provided a couple of shuttle services??
The sea food at local Nai Yang beach is SUPERB and well worth the effort. The poolside cafe at the resort is somewhat slow but given you are on holiday, what is the rush anyway??
I would stay in this resort again.

Room Tip: Choose a pool access room.

We spent 6 nights at this hotel and in general our stay was very good, but there were a few negative points / things which could be improved

the positives:

Room:
Our room was nice, the bathroom was great (with shower and bath tube and even with a window, which is not so common!). What was very nice was the walk-in closet which you could reach from the bathroom or from the room. Very nice touch!
Bath-ropes, slippers, a torch and an umbrella are available in the room.
The balcony was very spacious.

Facilities:
In the hotel there is a small room with 2 computers and a library (with books and DVDs).
There is a small gym which we used on 2 occasions.
The pool is really nice.
We used the shuttle to Patong and Central Festival twice. The first time the shuttle arrived 45 minutes later (at 11.45 instead of 11.00) and I thought the driver wanted to kill us - he drove SO fast and NOT leaving even 50 cm distance with the car in front of us. On the way back and on the second occasion, however, the shuttle was in time and the driver drove very well.

Location:
Very nice location if you do not mind being a bit isolated.
We walked to the nearby village and it takes about 10-15 minutes. It is ok to do it during low tide, but I would not do it during high tide.

Staff:
very friendly

What was not so good:

Room:

On the balcony there are no chairs / table, there is a sort of bed which is close to the hand-rail. Since it had been raining heavily for a few days, the mattress was soaking wet and we could not use it for the whole duration of our stay. I would actually also put chairs ... shame to have such a nice balcony and you cannot use it

Service in the room is VERY inconsistent. One the first day we did not get any shampoo/shower gel. On the second day we got them, but our tea/coffee were not refilled. On the third day there was a towel missing. On the fourth day we got no shower gel. And on the 5th day we got everything!!!! It did not bother me much.... we had our own shampoo/shower gel and we did not drink lots of coffee and tea....it was just funny to see what we would get / what we would not get....

Beds are HARD. of course it is a question of personal preference.... but for me, it was not very comfortable.

Facilities:
Great to have a computer room, shame that you had to ask for a username/password each time you wanted to use it
Great to have a DVD in the room and great to have a DVD library.... but the selection was really terrible... on a rainy day we wanted to borrow a DVD but couldn't find a decent one (again.... what is "decent" is a question of personal taste...... but really, the selection is very poor!). So if you want to use the DVD player, bring your own DVDs.

Location:
it is a BIG shame that they have not build a small bridge across the creek. With such bridge you would be able to reach the village despite of the tide, which would be a great improvement!!!!
Walking back to the hotel at night, when it is pitch dark and having to walk through the water might not be something that everybody would enjoy. We did it twice (but we had a torch with us, I would not do it without a torch) and it was ok. But with a bridge it would be 10 times better

Staff/Service:
Although they are very nice, they are a bit confused.... we had an All Inclusive package and for the first 2 days they did not seem to know what it was.... we had to explain it to them!!!
What I found a bit strange is that on the voucher we got for reception it was written that we were entitled to lunch and dinner at the Terrace restaurant.
But when we went to the Terrace restaurant for lunch, it was closed (as a matter of fact, the Terrace is always closed for lunch). Not sure why it says so on the voucher...

Food:
the food is very good, but the variety within the All inclusive is very limited if you are vegetarian (like me).
You can choose from a Western menu and a Thai menu.
In the Western menu there are NO vegetarian main courses.
The only one that they can make for you is pasta (either penne or spaghetti) with tomato sauce. No other option!!!

in the Thai menu there are 2 veggie options as "main courses". However, the ordering system is different: you have to choose 3 mains (the main courses are smaller, so you order 3 of them, which is what Thai people would normally do).
They managed to make one of the meat options (green curry) vegetarian.

This means that for EACH lunch and dinner for 6 days I had to eat either pasta with tomato sauce, or rice with the same 3 dishes.
It was ok for the first 2 or 3 days, but afterwards it was VERY boring.

I wanted to ask the waiter if they could prepare something else, but they speak limited English ... so communicating with them was difficult.

I would NOT do an All Inclusive package again.

Additionally, I do not understand why you cannot book a pool room if you do an All Inclusive package. Of course they could charge the supplement from the standard room to the pool room .... but not to offer it at all it really quite strange!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the restaurant if you want a very quiet room. Be aware that there are no...

Dear Cinzia,

Many thanks for both the positive and the constructive feedback. While I'm happy to hear that in general your stay was very good, please allow me to respond to your suggestions:
I'm happy to read that you enjoyed the room, felt the staff was very friendly, the location and the facilities were OK. I've spoken to the front office manager and while the shuttle was 15 minutes late, the driver was given a warning for his behaviour to prevent reoccurrence. I apologise the for inconvenience caused. Your feedback on the balcony, the room service and mattress are appreciated. I'll take the inconsistencies up with the housekeeping team & we've recently bought mattress toppers to soften the beds. All guests are given a username/password on arrival, which they can use during their stay to access both the WiFi and the computers in the computer room, so normally there is need to ask for it repeatedly. As you mentioned, the DVD selection is a matter of personal taste and it's supplemented by 60 regular TV channels. Your suggestion for a bridge will be taken into consideration, we'll retrain the staff regarding the all-inclusive & update the voucher (during low season, the Terrace is closed for lunch as it's served at the beach restaurant). Our chef will be happy to address special needs like vegetarian requirements and I've taken this up with him for future reference. Finally your question on the ability to book all-inclusive for other room types is a very valid one and we'll add this option for other room types shortly. All in all, many thanks for both the positive & constructive feedback and we hope to be able to welcome you back in the future.

Yours,

Doeke

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2013. We were visiting Hong Kong and decided to do a side trip to get away from the city and civilization and Nai Yang was the perfect escape.

We arrived at HKT airport and a nice gentleman was waiting for us at the exit to take us to the resort. He was very friendly and sweet. After a short drive, we arrived at the resort and we were very impressed with Thai-style, open-air lobby. It was beautiful! We got checked-in to our beachfront pool villa and then we were escorted to our villa in a golf cart since they said the walk was a bit of a trek. When we arrived at the villa, we were very impressed. The plunge pool was huge and very clean looking. The villa itself was very nice, with Thai-style decor, and the size was more than adequate. The washroom had a separate stand-up shower, an outdoor bathtub, changing area, and separate toilet. The bed was very big and comfy.

We tried both restaurants on multiple occasions and between the two, The Terrace was better. For our first lunch, we went to Chai Lay, by the pool, which was just a short walk from our villa through our backyard. We ordered some appetizers and drinks which were very yummy. The main pool area was very quiet with only a few guests around and it felt very nice and tranquil. The view of Nai Yang beach was very nice. That evening, we decided to try The Terrace, but we arrived a bit late (around 9:00pm) and there were no other patrons around! We ordered pad thai, tom yom goong (came with steamed rice), and chicken skewers and we shared the dishes. The tom yom goong was soooooo delicious. I was so impressed with it that I couldn't wait for the next evening to order it again! Our vacation package included breakfast so we returned to The Terrace the next morning to eat again. The restaurant was very busy! The breakfast was self-serve, buffet style, with many food options. The food quality was not bad, but not the best.

Since our vacation package included a discount for the spa, we decided to book a couples Thai massage. They had a special price for a 50 min Thai massage for 850 THB, so we booked that for later on that day. The massage was amazing! It was soooo relaxing. During our massage, it started raining really hard and the sound of the rain was very soothing. When we were leaving the spa, the rain had stopped, so it was perfect timing for us to walk back to our villa. My husband loved the massage so much that as we were leaving, he booked another appointment for the following day. I decided to get a facial instead. The facial, overall, was average. Their specialty is massage so I wasn't at all disappointed that the quality of the facial wasn't as good as North America.

Our vacation package also included a round-trip shuttle to Patong Beach so we took advantage of that for the following day and spent the afternoon there. The ride was around one hour since we made a stop in Phuket Town on the way. The shuttle van was comfortable with air-conditioning, which was very crucial since it was very, very hot in Phuket.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at Imperial Adamas. I was very, very glad that we decided on this place instead of staying in the Patong Beach area, which was too crowded, too noisy, and even felt dirty from the pollution and smog. Nai Yang Beach was soooo tranquil, quiet, and secluded, and that was exactly what we needed to escape from Hong Kong. The service at Imperial Adamas was top notch, the food was very yummy, and our villa was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better 3 night getaway!

Dear Kaye,

Thank you for choosing to trade in Hong Kong for Phuket and the team & I are delighted to see that you felt it was the perfect escape. Thank you for sharing your experiences and for selecting the tranquility of Naiyang national park over the 'wild life' in Patong. We are most grateful for your compliments and hope that you'll visit us again in the future, should you feel the need to recharge.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon in Thailand last year. We were meant to be staying at another hotel, which I named the bar cave, and cut our stay there short to move to somewhere nicer. Boy am I glad we did.

The hotel was fantastic, the whole place just felt amazing and looked beautiful.

The room was spacious and geeky expensive. With a lovely bath that overlooked the room and a balcony that overlooked the pool and grounds, we couldn't have been happier.

It's not a place to stay if you want to pay in the sea, the beach seems endless and the sea is uniting (once you get to it), but the hotel was fantastic. We ate there most days (the burgers were fantastic from the beach bar), and the staff were wonderful and accommodating.

It was very quiet when we went, which meant we got a roof top area to sunbathe to ourselves and the whole pool to play in when it got too hot.

For evening entertainment we avoided the all you can eat buffet and went for room service (we had a right giggle watching Thai karaoke).

The hotel is a short walk to another little village, you have to time this right because it can be a difficult walk if the tide is in and not one you'd want to do in the dark.

The village has a few shops, we used it to stock up on drinks and chocolate!

Ultimately, for our honeymoon this was a perfect way to spend the last four days in Thailand, we'd had an amazing time in Dubai, then on to mental times in Bangkok, then to Phuket. Patong and the various markets and day trips that we'd done from the bat cave (so as not to spend too long in the room), this girl catered for what we wanted, which at this stage was to do very little. We were treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Dear Rachibelle,

Thank you for starting your married life with a holiday at our resort last year. Reading your review, you and your husband seem to have had a wonderful time and I'm happy that it was a right move for you, including the bathroom, the food, the staff, private sunbathing and local shopping. We're most grateful that you chose to stay with us on the last leg of your honeymoon and it was our pleasure to make you feel like royalty. We hope to welcome you back one day.

First trip to Thailand and stayed at this resort for a week. We stayed in one of the suites, it was huge and really nicely decorated in the Thai style. Being still off season the hotel was very quite which was great. Staff were very helpful. Loads of plus points at this hotel, nice pool, lovely beach bar, great staff. Only a couple of small downsides, the bed was really hard and the price of meals at the restaurant was very expensive. However, you can also eat at the beach bar which is much better value for money.

The location of the hotel is maybe a bit out of the way as you really do need to take taxis just about everywhere which can be quite expensive but don't let that put you off, it really is a little hidden gem.

All in all we were very happy with our choice of hotel.

Dear Liz,

Many thanks for your lovely review. I'm delighted to read that your 1st trip to Thailand was an enjoyable one. The suite was a good choice and the positive feedback is much appreciated. As for the constructive feedback: we've recently bought mattress toppers to soften the beds and are working on a new menu. While the remoteness of to the resort allows for tranquility, it does indeed require transportation (complimentary shuttle bus to Phuket Town or Patong or paid alternatives) while exploring the island, other than the nearby Naiyang beach restaurants. All in all we are very happy that you were happy with you chosen 'little gem' and hope to welcome you back on another future occasion.

I loved this resort. It was quiet, peaceful, sufficiently luxurious and well-equipped. Good for fitness activities and eating:
We were upgraded to a pool access room - I was worried it would prove noisy, but it was amazing at the time we were there - it was very quiet in late September. I could get up and swim directly into a long pool surrounded by gardens which stretched for about 100m, finally widening into the resort's main pool, with a view of the beach. Fantastic!
The gym was a little primitive, but OK, with one bike, a strange old stepper and two treadies, a lat/ rower machine and free weights with bench. Water and towels provided, air con also.
I didn't run along the beach, but it went for kilometres with a good wide stretch of sand. I did go swimming, need to walk out pretty far, but a nice safe beach.

The breakfast was good. The most fun was walking across the tidal river to eat in the beachside restaurants in Nai Yang - read the Trip Advisor reviews, we found them all accurate, lots of nice places to eat and apparently quite safe for Aussie stomachs.

Room was luxurious and clean, Thai syle. The resort was lovely, great for a romantic retreat. Will happily go again to this resort rather than other newer ones we also stayed in this trip.

Room Tip: Pool access was incredible, not noisy at all when I was there - late Sept 2013
