This was our very first resort experience and I must say we were highly impressed. At check in we were greeted with a cold, moist hand towel infused with jasmine (heavenly!) and a cold glass of delicious matoom tea (Bael fruit tea) which was just what we needed. Sitting in the lobby (and exploring the resort later) we were immediately taken by the unique architecture and semi-industrial sculptural design elements. Poured concrete, metal and colored glass married with the beautifully landscaped tropical grounds was very appealing. Not to mention the subtle aroma of jasmine ubiquitous throughout the resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well. Our room (Kelly Quarters) was the most basic room they offer but by no means is basic. The king feather bed was very comfortable, however, not being a fan of feather pillows, I could have done with something firmer under my head. On occasion you'd see a gecko hiding in the room which didn't bother us since they'd kill any insect that might have gotten in (ie pesky mosquitos). TV reception wasn't that great but we didn't spend much time watching it anyway. We were spending our days sitting at the Indigo Pearl Beach Club sipping cold beers and eating fresh fruit! The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing! HUGE! Everything you could imagine they offered. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. all made to order or just select your fare (Asian, European, American) from the myriad of chafing dishes. You could eat a hearty breakfast of sausages, bacon, eggs, taost...you name it or have a light healthy one of yogurt and fresh tropical fruit or just cereal. To burn off all the food you can play tennis, swim or work out at their fitness room. The pools are great, too, all three of them. There's three restaurants and two or three(?) bars to choose from if you want to stay in. There's also a local beach front strip with plenty of restaurants and bars (Wat's bar was the best!) to choose from as well. But since this is a hotel review we won't go on and on about Nai Yang beach (which we loved, too). Bottom line, LOVED Indigo Pearl and we want to move there.

  • Liked — The serene atmosphere and the quiet nearby beach
  • Disliked — The feather pillows and they need another two computers at least. Only two available.

Indigo Pearl has got to be 1 of the greatest resort I have ever stayed in. Everything was done impeccably and I felt like a VIP the entire time. It has all the qualities of a 5-star resort and much more. Just to name a few of their additional fine touches:

1) They provide iced water and fruits at the pool area. The weather was scorching hot in e middays and I'm ever so grateful when I see 1 of the staff tottering to my sunbed with a huge glass of iced water, chilled towel and a small serving of fruit.

2) Turn down service. I probably have not stayed in too fine establishments so was pleased when they staff made an effort to burn some aromatherapy oil and incense to get rid of the mozzies in the balconies in the evening.

3) The helpful staff. They were very accommodating and extremely well-mannered. I didnt meet any staff who didnt greet me in the traditional thai way during my stay. And even though some of the staffs' english was less than desirable, the efforts could be seen which is all it counts, at least to me.

The architecture of the establishment is also very unique and interesting and its only a ten-min's ride from the airport (don't pay more than THB200 for the cab ride). The food is at Black Ginger is a must-try, very authentic and not harsh on the wallet seeing the quality of food served. The spa decor is so-so but my massueus was a sweet little thing who made the experience really good. And if you have an extra buck, pls upgrade yrself to a Pearl Bed Suite. Its well worth the price given the size and the lovely balconies and the huge bathrooms.

As for the beach, don't expect too much. No clear waters in sight but it was still nice to catch the sunsets. Mama-mia didnt work for me. Found the food to be bland. Linda's was much better though the atmosphere lost out to Mama-mia. I tried the foot massage at the beach which was quite bad as the lady's hands were really rough. But she was working so hard in the blazing sun so I didn't complain. And its only THB300.

The only gripe I had was the location of Indigo Pearl. Though it's only a stone's throw from the airport, there isnt much you can do beside laze at the beach or within the resort. Not much shopping to talk bout and I didnt think paying THB1,500 to Patong was worth my money. But if u are 1 who enjoy the serenity, it is e place for you.

All in all, a highly recommended resort for couples. I reckon anyone would have major issues with this place.

My wife and I have just come back from 8 terrific days at the Indigo Pearl hotel for our honeymoon. Both of us wanted to treat ourselves with winter sun but at the same time not have a big resort feel - i.e. full board, no need to leave the grounds place. Indigo pearl was perfect in this respect.

The hotel is a about 10 minutes from the airport and despite this proximity it is was incredibly quiet. On our arrival after a long flight, the staff were there to great us in the superb reception with an ice drink. The hotel has been modernised in recent years and has a recurring tin theme in the reception and throughout the grounds as a testament to the old industry on the island.

The modern aspects extend to the room too. Each room had a piece of tin artwork located near the entrance. Our room had large floor to ceiling doors at the rear that opened out onto the private garden. And the room was decked out with an lcd tvs, dvd player (library supplied by the hotel), bose sound system. Our room, 3110, also had a plunge pool, walk-in shower and much much more.

Whilst the resort had 3 pools, we barely used them, instead opting for the coach to visit Phuket town or Patong. If you scuba, there is diving provided on site but as with all things thai, there are cheaper options just as good nearby.

The Nai Yang beach is a short walk away, 30 seconds from the perimeter of the hotel grounds and is lovely and white and quiet! There is a sectioned off area for hotel guests.

Of the restaurants on Nai Yang beach we enjoyed Octopus, heavily recommended by locals and Savoy for beach dining. The kite-surfing club also had a good beach bar set up for the evening.

Would we go back there? Definitely, although I suspect that within a few years, the quiet Nai Yang beach will resemble Patong due to ongoing development activity nearby.

First off, all the positive reviews written about this resort on Trip Advisor are true. To go on and on about what I found positive about this resort would be redundant, so for all you people with short attention spans, here is what I have to say about Indigo Pearl - The entire resort is amazing!

ok, so for those who want to know more.. read on.
If you are on a slightly tighter budget and want to save some money and not sacrifice any quality in terms of luxury and romance, (and detail), you have to look no further but to Indigo Pearl. When I compared prices online about resorts/hotels in Phuket, Thailand, these guys were considerably more reasonably priced than some of the other resorts I saw within the top 50 rank.

What I liked most about Indigo Pearl was their commitment to service and customer satisfaction. Maybe I was just lucky, but whenever I asked a staff member, whether it was the front desk receptionists, concierge, manager, in-house transportation crew, or room service maids, I was always greeted with a positive answer and helpful response. My mood during the entire stay was kept in a "la la" land state, and I seriously did not want to leave. My better half and I were so pleased we extended our stay here twice on the same visit.

The food on the resort is a bit pricy, compared to the restaurants right outside next to the beach and to the front of the hotel. This of course should be expected since restaurants in almost any hotel are usually quite high. Unfortunately, my wife and I were on a bit of a budget so we couldn't splurge on a very nice restaurant meal which I've read are very nice (ie. Black Ginger). In any case, I recommend Mamma Mia's, Octopus, and Naiyan Seafood (and if you make a trip out to Patong, I recommend Savooey). For those who don't know what to order, I suggest the following safe, but delicious entrees: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (both delicious noodle dishes), Curry with Duck (I ordered once mildly spicy and once spicy, which was actually very spicy for us, and we are Korean that typically eat spicy food), BBQ Seafood combo sampler, vegetable dishes suggested by the waiters/waitresses.

The massage parlors outside of the beach are also very good. My wife and I enjoyed all of them, but especially liked the new establishment next to Mr. Kobe's. We received about 4 massages total during our 8 day/7night stay. If it were possible and in our budget, we would have definitely treated ourselves to a massage in-hotel which i've also read are exceptional.

The 3 in-hotel pools are also extraordinary. The main pool has a very tropical feel, and is very large. Although, the hotel told us that they were fully booked, we did not feel the resort to be crowded one bit. The only time I felt in any way there were many people at the resort was when I was inside the lobby one of the nights and I saw many guests checking in. Otherwise, inside the pool, the crowd was not felt whatsoever. Actually, at all of our trips to the pool, the most guests we saw at one time was about 7, and the least we saw was 0. We felt we had exclusive use to the pool that day! =] I recommend the Adult Only pool for couples in love, which has an In Pool bar with cocktails and happy hour of 50% off drinks.

They have an excellent gym/weight room. With upbeat music playing, top of the line equipment, free weights, in-house aerobics classes, boxing classes, table tennis, 2 beautiful tennis courts, locker room and showers. We made extensive use of their gym facilities and were impressed with the attention they paid to offering guests such high quality service and equipment. This brings me to one of my important and most gratifying parts about the resort.. their attention to detail.

Regarding our room, which we upgraded to the Pearl Room, (an extravagantly embellished room btw!!), we were impressed by the attention they paid to the small things such as their wonderfully smelling shampoo, conditioner, soaps and towels. It seems almost every part of the room is fragranced with the Thai Flowery smell. The beds were so comfortable to sleep in, and the room maids really do a good job about cleaning the room each day. They provide plenty of towels and fresh bed sheets upon request. Our Pearl rooms had 2 balconies which were very romantic and had great views of the resort. One tip, I suggest paying the extra fee for the Pearl rooms. They are to die for!

If there is any mild complaint I could make about the hotel, it would be only that they do not have free wireless Internet inside the rooms. This is a very minor complaint though, since they have 4 computers (Apple Macs, not PCs, which I didn't like and they said only chose b/c their interior designer said it matched their design concept better) which have free Internet usage conveniently located next to their lobby. If you are planning to take your laptop computer, you can also manage to get free wireless Internet inside this computer room. The computer room also has 2 printers for use for its guests (complimentary use).

That's pretty much it. Overall, my wife and I are definitely planning to stay at Indigo Pearl in the future when we visit Thailand again! 2 Thumbs up!! 5 star hotel rating!

Needed a break and found the Indigo Pearl was in budget, through Trailfinders. We were due to fly with Thai, however with the closure of the airport at Bangkok Trailfinders managed to re-route us through Seoul. This made for a pretty long flight however we arrived at the hotel at 2am to a warm and friendly greeting and an upgrade which was appreciated. After this the standards of service and friendliness throughout were outstanding. We have been fortunate to travel a fair amount around Asia over the years and have yet to be disappointed with standards in general, particularly in Thailand and the Indigo Pearl was no exception. I did have some reservations about the design, however it was so different and tastefully themed that any pre arrival doubts were unfounded.
We ate at the Rivet Grill,a little expensive and limited but the ambiance and decor made up for this, the food was excellent too.
Black Ginger, was extreemely good value, authentic food and a wonderful design. My only real gripe was the price of wine. The cheapest on offer was around £27, even for the Monsoon Valley,a Thai label and more than quaffable. A reasonable bottle of Pino Grigio or similar at any of the beach restaurants was around £14. Interesting that very few diners seemed to opt for a bottle or even a glass at the hotel.
We did alternate between the beach and the hotel which gave us the best of both worlds. If you try Mama Mia's and enjoy white wine go for a bottle, the by the glass offering is dreadful. Mama disagrees with me but did enjoy debating the issue on numerous occassions!!.
The beach is fine, not the best on the island but fairly clean, certainly around the hotel, but do take some mossie repellant or similar as there were quite a few sandflies that were more that happy tuck in.
So all in all a great break with just enough to do outside the hotel.
Very good food, extremely friendly staff throughout and superb design...Enjoy!!
