First off, all the positive reviews written about this resort on Trip Advisor are true. To go on and on about what I found positive about this resort would be redundant, so for all you people with short attention spans, here is what I have to say about Indigo Pearl - The entire resort is amazing!

ok, so for those who want to know more.. read on.
If you are on a slightly tighter budget and want to save some money and not sacrifice any quality in terms of luxury and romance, (and detail), you have to look no further but to Indigo Pearl. When I compared prices online about resorts/hotels in Phuket, Thailand, these guys were considerably more reasonably priced than some of the other resorts I saw within the top 50 rank.

What I liked most about Indigo Pearl was their commitment to service and customer satisfaction. Maybe I was just lucky, but whenever I asked a staff member, whether it was the front desk receptionists, concierge, manager, in-house transportation crew, or room service maids, I was always greeted with a positive answer and helpful response. My mood during the entire stay was kept in a "la la" land state, and I seriously did not want to leave. My better half and I were so pleased we extended our stay here twice on the same visit.

The food on the resort is a bit pricy, compared to the restaurants right outside next to the beach and to the front of the hotel. This of course should be expected since restaurants in almost any hotel are usually quite high. Unfortunately, my wife and I were on a bit of a budget so we couldn't splurge on a very nice restaurant meal which I've read are very nice (ie. Black Ginger). In any case, I recommend Mamma Mia's, Octopus, and Naiyan Seafood (and if you make a trip out to Patong, I recommend Savooey). For those who don't know what to order, I suggest the following safe, but delicious entrees: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (both delicious noodle dishes), Curry with Duck (I ordered once mildly spicy and once spicy, which was actually very spicy for us, and we are Korean that typically eat spicy food), BBQ Seafood combo sampler, vegetable dishes suggested by the waiters/waitresses.

The massage parlors outside of the beach are also very good. My wife and I enjoyed all of them, but especially liked the new establishment next to Mr. Kobe's. We received about 4 massages total during our 8 day/7night stay. If it were possible and in our budget, we would have definitely treated ourselves to a massage in-hotel which i've also read are exceptional.

The 3 in-hotel pools are also extraordinary. The main pool has a very tropical feel, and is very large. Although, the hotel told us that they were fully booked, we did not feel the resort to be crowded one bit. The only time I felt in any way there were many people at the resort was when I was inside the lobby one of the nights and I saw many guests checking in. Otherwise, inside the pool, the crowd was not felt whatsoever. Actually, at all of our trips to the pool, the most guests we saw at one time was about 7, and the least we saw was 0. We felt we had exclusive use to the pool that day! =] I recommend the Adult Only pool for couples in love, which has an In Pool bar with cocktails and happy hour of 50% off drinks.

They have an excellent gym/weight room. With upbeat music playing, top of the line equipment, free weights, in-house aerobics classes, boxing classes, table tennis, 2 beautiful tennis courts, locker room and showers. We made extensive use of their gym facilities and were impressed with the attention they paid to offering guests such high quality service and equipment. This brings me to one of my important and most gratifying parts about the resort.. their attention to detail.

Regarding our room, which we upgraded to the Pearl Room, (an extravagantly embellished room btw!!), we were impressed by the attention they paid to the small things such as their wonderfully smelling shampoo, conditioner, soaps and towels. It seems almost every part of the room is fragranced with the Thai Flowery smell. The beds were so comfortable to sleep in, and the room maids really do a good job about cleaning the room each day. They provide plenty of towels and fresh bed sheets upon request. Our Pearl rooms had 2 balconies which were very romantic and had great views of the resort. One tip, I suggest paying the extra fee for the Pearl rooms. They are to die for!

If there is any mild complaint I could make about the hotel, it would be only that they do not have free wireless Internet inside the rooms. This is a very minor complaint though, since they have 4 computers (Apple Macs, not PCs, which I didn't like and they said only chose b/c their interior designer said it matched their design concept better) which have free Internet usage conveniently located next to their lobby. If you are planning to take your laptop computer, you can also manage to get free wireless Internet inside this computer room. The computer room also has 2 printers for use for its guests (complimentary use).

That's pretty much it. Overall, my wife and I are definitely planning to stay at Indigo Pearl in the future when we visit Thailand again! 2 Thumbs up!! 5 star hotel rating!

Needed a break and found the Indigo Pearl was in budget, through Trailfinders. We were due to fly with Thai, however with the closure of the airport at Bangkok Trailfinders managed to re-route us through Seoul. This made for a pretty long flight however we arrived at the hotel at 2am to a warm and friendly greeting and an upgrade which was appreciated. After this the standards of service and friendliness throughout were outstanding. We have been fortunate to travel a fair amount around Asia over the years and have yet to be disappointed with standards in general, particularly in Thailand and the Indigo Pearl was no exception. I did have some reservations about the design, however it was so different and tastefully themed that any pre arrival doubts were unfounded.
We ate at the Rivet Grill,a little expensive and limited but the ambiance and decor made up for this, the food was excellent too.
Black Ginger, was extreemely good value, authentic food and a wonderful design. My only real gripe was the price of wine. The cheapest on offer was around £27, even for the Monsoon Valley,a Thai label and more than quaffable. A reasonable bottle of Pino Grigio or similar at any of the beach restaurants was around £14. Interesting that very few diners seemed to opt for a bottle or even a glass at the hotel.
We did alternate between the beach and the hotel which gave us the best of both worlds. If you try Mama Mia's and enjoy white wine go for a bottle, the by the glass offering is dreadful. Mama disagrees with me but did enjoy debating the issue on numerous occassions!!.
The beach is fine, not the best on the island but fairly clean, certainly around the hotel, but do take some mossie repellant or similar as there were quite a few sandflies that were more that happy tuck in.
So all in all a great break with just enough to do outside the hotel.
Very good food, extremely friendly staff throughout and superb design...Enjoy!!

My husband and I travelled to Phuket to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We stayed 3 nights at Le Meridien and then 4 nights at Indigo Pearl. We were highly recommended Indigo Pearl from friends that had visited for a romantic getaway.

Overall it is a great hotel that I would recommend to all. But not all things can be perfect, so I'll start with my small gripes before I get to the positives.

The key negatives, was the television reception was static and their DVD library was very limited and outdated. I used the spa for a body wrap and massage. The masseuse was great, however the spa room and facilities was somewhat outdated and did not have the amazing archecture as the hotel. It is strongly user pays resort and seemed somewhat ridiculous to charge for an aerobics class, given that Le Meridien offered a range of aerobics classes complimentary, including swimming and diving lessons. I have 3 fiesty, loud and playful preschool children and I'm not convinced its a place for young kids, as it seems like a quiet getaway and not set up for this age group. There is a playground, but its not very enticing and probably needs a shady cover.

The key highlights was the amazing architecture which was centred around the theme of the tin factory which is the historic landmark that this place was originally. It had very innovative, creative structures through out the resort. We stayed in the Pearl Suite which was spacious with two balconies. We used the milky bath spa twice which was so relaxing though somewhat expensive.

I loved the three pool options which were wonderfully displayed and located apart. I particularly liked the adults only pool with the great seats inside the pool for sitting or sunbathing.

I loved the Thai food restaurant, it was much more tasty and appealing than the Le Meridien restaurants. We also enjoyed the other formal dinning restaurant Rivet Grill. The layout and seating was spectactular, moreso than the food itself and we also enjoy the cocktail bar above.

The staff were wonderful very accomodating and helpful. The buffet breakfast is also great. The airport is only minutes away and so it was the perfect resort to finish our holiday before heading home.

Once again awesome stay and definitely worthwhile for adults and families with older kids or teenagers.

We ended up stuck in the southern end of Thailand due to the politial crisis that shut down the Bangkok airports. While stuck we decided to go to Phuket. We absolutely love Indigo Pearl....especially because of the price! It is a very modern industrial design and has everything that you need. It was a short walk to the beach from our room. It is located on one of the more quiet beaches that I saw in Phuket. Part of the beach is within a National Park and the rest of the beach has quaint beachside restaurants. They said that they were booked when we arrived, but we were able to secure a room on agoda. Judging by the beach & pools, you would have never guessed that they were fully booked. We never had a problem getting a beach chair or pool chair.

Pros: Very clean, nice large room, great pools (including an adult only pool), beautiful beach, great service, incredible breakfast buffet, comfy bed, great water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Cons: A bit of a walk to the beach, our room was located closer to the beach, but it could be a hike if you are in some other rooms. Also, you cannot get a room with a beach view. They tried to turn happy hour into a club scene by playing loud music. Everyone was relaxed reading a book and the next thing that you knew the music was blaring! Food & drink prices seemed high.

  • Liked — The modern design
  • Disliked — Communication issues because of the staff's lack of English

We found this lodging when the JW Marriott was asking $350 for one night, but recommended the Indigo Pearl as a lower cost alternate (we paid $170 just walking in the door).

We loved the architechture and dedication to a theme. One of the most interesting lodgings we have ever stay with. Even our cheapest room (if $170/night can be considered "cheap") was clean and well designed.

The grounds and the pools are well maintained and neat.
Since the hotel does NOT border the beach, it's across the street from the beach and you have to walk by a lot of cheap looking wooden shops to get to the beach. Once on the beach, no one bothers you--but we never found the chaise lounges owned by the Pearl, so we were afraid to stop or sit down. Their part of the beach could be better advertised.

The meals are good, but will be expensive (breakfast was included--and it was a great buffet). The meal at a beach side bar was pretty bad. Have access to a car and go out and party--though the surrounding commercial establishents for 2 miles in every direction are not worth visiting. Given those options, we still had a great time and would come back.
