My husband and I travelled to Phuket to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We stayed 3 nights at Le Meridien and then 4 nights at Indigo Pearl. We were highly recommended Indigo Pearl from friends that had visited for a romantic getaway.

Overall it is a great hotel that I would recommend to all. But not all things can be perfect, so I'll start with my small gripes before I get to the positives.

The key negatives, was the television reception was static and their DVD library was very limited and outdated. I used the spa for a body wrap and massage. The masseuse was great, however the spa room and facilities was somewhat outdated and did not have the amazing archecture as the hotel. It is strongly user pays resort and seemed somewhat ridiculous to charge for an aerobics class, given that Le Meridien offered a range of aerobics classes complimentary, including swimming and diving lessons. I have 3 fiesty, loud and playful preschool children and I'm not convinced its a place for young kids, as it seems like a quiet getaway and not set up for this age group. There is a playground, but its not very enticing and probably needs a shady cover.

The key highlights was the amazing architecture which was centred around the theme of the tin factory which is the historic landmark that this place was originally. It had very innovative, creative structures through out the resort. We stayed in the Pearl Suite which was spacious with two balconies. We used the milky bath spa twice which was so relaxing though somewhat expensive.

I loved the three pool options which were wonderfully displayed and located apart. I particularly liked the adults only pool with the great seats inside the pool for sitting or sunbathing.

I loved the Thai food restaurant, it was much more tasty and appealing than the Le Meridien restaurants. We also enjoyed the other formal dinning restaurant Rivet Grill. The layout and seating was spectactular, moreso than the food itself and we also enjoy the cocktail bar above.

The staff were wonderful very accomodating and helpful. The buffet breakfast is also great. The airport is only minutes away and so it was the perfect resort to finish our holiday before heading home.

Once again awesome stay and definitely worthwhile for adults and families with older kids or teenagers.

  • Liked — spacious room, two balconies
  • Disliked — the lighting and light switches were confusing

We ended up stuck in the southern end of Thailand due to the politial crisis that shut down the Bangkok airports. While stuck we decided to go to Phuket. We absolutely love Indigo Pearl....especially because of the price! It is a very modern industrial design and has everything that you need. It was a short walk to the beach from our room. It is located on one of the more quiet beaches that I saw in Phuket. Part of the beach is within a National Park and the rest of the beach has quaint beachside restaurants. They said that they were booked when we arrived, but we were able to secure a room on agoda. Judging by the beach & pools, you would have never guessed that they were fully booked. We never had a problem getting a beach chair or pool chair.

Pros: Very clean, nice large room, great pools (including an adult only pool), beautiful beach, great service, incredible breakfast buffet, comfy bed, great water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Cons: A bit of a walk to the beach, our room was located closer to the beach, but it could be a hike if you are in some other rooms. Also, you cannot get a room with a beach view. They tried to turn happy hour into a club scene by playing loud music. Everyone was relaxed reading a book and the next thing that you knew the music was blaring! Food & drink prices seemed high.

  • Liked — The modern design
  • Disliked — Communication issues because of the staff's lack of English

We found this lodging when the JW Marriott was asking $350 for one night, but recommended the Indigo Pearl as a lower cost alternate (we paid $170 just walking in the door).

We loved the architechture and dedication to a theme. One of the most interesting lodgings we have ever stay with. Even our cheapest room (if $170/night can be considered "cheap") was clean and well designed.

The grounds and the pools are well maintained and neat.
Since the hotel does NOT border the beach, it's across the street from the beach and you have to walk by a lot of cheap looking wooden shops to get to the beach. Once on the beach, no one bothers you--but we never found the chaise lounges owned by the Pearl, so we were afraid to stop or sit down. Their part of the beach could be better advertised.

The meals are good, but will be expensive (breakfast was included--and it was a great buffet). The meal at a beach side bar was pretty bad. Have access to a car and go out and party--though the surrounding commercial establishents for 2 miles in every direction are not worth visiting. Given those options, we still had a great time and would come back.

Finally got back after all the Bangkok chaos. The Indigo is truly gorgeous in terms of architecture. It has been very well thought out and there are some lovely touches - hats off to the architect.
Beautiful pool, lovely that they have adult only pools and one for children.

We stayed in a Pearl room and I totally agree with a previous visitor that it is worth the extra as the room is so much bigger and not that much difference in price - plus the outdoor bath was gorgeous.

Straight outside the hotel, they have a beach club which was lovely and ou get looked after, but the restaurants/beach shacks along the road from there are fantastic. The prices are unbelievably cheap and some of the places offer far better food than the Indigo which was so expensive ( food was overpriced overall plus they add 10% service charge and 7% tax on top of everything - I got two icecream cones and I was charged £3.60 which I think is ridiculous) You can eat like a king in one of the beachside restaurants - N04 Seafood was amazing, fantasitc fresh seafood and friendly people.Lindas and Mama Mias was great too.

Don't bother using the spa as it too is overpriced and a little way away from the hotel. It was quicker to go to one of the massage/beauty parlours by the beach side restaurants - absolute bliss, I had a massage every day one hour for £6.00 - Round the corner from the beachside restaurants is a grreat massage place called Chaba, well worth a visit.

With regards to one or two negative pointso n the hotel - The majority of the staff could not give a damn and were rather unhelpful. We were caught up in all the chaos of trying desperately to get out of Thailand when the problems started and so the entire hotel was queued up to use the internet on one of the two computers there. Everyone was frantic and trying to organise other transport, so I asked the concirege if a few people coud borrow one of the laptops that they loan out just for an hour to help people get sorted. They wanted to charge me 700 baht and then 900 baht for this and refsed to budge on it which I think is pretty poor of them considering all the tree people were under. The front of desk staff really need some training in looking after their customers, as we had a few other issues and they really did not want to help out. Plus we had to stay an extra night as we could not get on a flight due to the airport closures and they charged me a 'secial rate' which was more than a rate that I found on late stays. When I mentioned it to the management, they basically told me to take it or leave it and they would not drop their rate to the cheaper one that I had found.

Also, it seemed that anything the hotel offers, they charge you for, e.g. yoga, aqua aerobics, using a bike etc. I don't mind paying for things such as the cookery class, but I think its over the top when they charge you for an exercise class!

Apart from that, the hotel and grounds are truly beautiful and well worth a visit - but definitely take a wander out by the beachclub and try out some of the massage parlours and restuarants there.

My fiance and I stayed at Indigo Pearl for 4 nights. Nai Yang is very quiet and we realised this when we booked it, hence only staying 4 nights. I think this was the perfect amount of time to stay in this area of Phuket although I would have loved to have moved Indigo Pearl with us to Patong.

We were greeted with welcoming drinks and a cold towel. The lady from reception explained that we had been upgraded to a Pearl superior room and she then gave us a small map of the hotel which she talked us though. She then travelled with us on a buggy to our room. Our room was stunning with a beautiful view and bath on the balcony. It was kept extremely clean at all times. The cleaner knocked on our door the first night and asked us if we would be sitting out on our balcony on an evening, I said perhaps we would and so she sent a man out to our balcony to presumably prevent mosquitos. She also gave me a gift wrapped up. It was a cream to use on mosquito bites. The cleaner visited our room twice a day. Once during the day for a thorough clean and on an evening for a quick tidy up, to close our curtains and light a jasmine scented candle. The little touches made our stay very special.

All staff, including gardeners and maintenence men were very polite and would always greet us as we walked around the hotel. The hotel is the perfect size and although we were furthest away from the lobby, right by the beach, everything was only a short walk away through beautiful surroundings. All 3 pools were very nice. I would recommend getting to the adult only pool early as the sunbeds go quickly here and it is a nice pool with a swim up bar. The other pools are lovely too so if there aren't spaces its no problem going to another pool.

The only problem we found was that there were only 2 computers available for internet access and everytime we wanted to use them they were in use.

The breakfast was amazing with so much variety. We didn't eat in the hotel as it was much cheaper to eat at the beach huts just outside the hotel. The food here is basic but nice and very reasonably priced. You can't beat the sand between your toes and the sound of the sea for a romantic meal. I would recommend Octopus and Ma Ma Mia's for food and Mr Kobi's and the Beach Bar for a few drinks. We also enjoyed a cocktail in Rebar (within Indigo Pearl) each evening.

I would strongly recommend staying here for a few nights if you are visiting Phuket.
