My fiance and I stayed at Indigo Pearl for 4 nights. Nai Yang is very quiet and we realised this when we booked it, hence only staying 4 nights. I think this was the perfect amount of time to stay in this area of Phuket although I would have loved to have moved Indigo Pearl with us to Patong.

We were greeted with welcoming drinks and a cold towel. The lady from reception explained that we had been upgraded to a Pearl superior room and she then gave us a small map of the hotel which she talked us though. She then travelled with us on a buggy to our room. Our room was stunning with a beautiful view and bath on the balcony. It was kept extremely clean at all times. The cleaner knocked on our door the first night and asked us if we would be sitting out on our balcony on an evening, I said perhaps we would and so she sent a man out to our balcony to presumably prevent mosquitos. She also gave me a gift wrapped up. It was a cream to use on mosquito bites. The cleaner visited our room twice a day. Once during the day for a thorough clean and on an evening for a quick tidy up, to close our curtains and light a jasmine scented candle. The little touches made our stay very special.

All staff, including gardeners and maintenence men were very polite and would always greet us as we walked around the hotel. The hotel is the perfect size and although we were furthest away from the lobby, right by the beach, everything was only a short walk away through beautiful surroundings. All 3 pools were very nice. I would recommend getting to the adult only pool early as the sunbeds go quickly here and it is a nice pool with a swim up bar. The other pools are lovely too so if there aren't spaces its no problem going to another pool.

The only problem we found was that there were only 2 computers available for internet access and everytime we wanted to use them they were in use.

The breakfast was amazing with so much variety. We didn't eat in the hotel as it was much cheaper to eat at the beach huts just outside the hotel. The food here is basic but nice and very reasonably priced. You can't beat the sand between your toes and the sound of the sea for a romantic meal. I would recommend Octopus and Ma Ma Mia's for food and Mr Kobi's and the Beach Bar for a few drinks. We also enjoyed a cocktail in Rebar (within Indigo Pearl) each evening.

I would strongly recommend staying here for a few nights if you are visiting Phuket.

This is truly a fab resort.
Super stylish, you feel really looked after. I loved the room and it was one of the cheapest... so I can imagine the others...
The breakfast was incredible, the swimming pools were simply amazing and I really enjoyed my stay. For the first time I didn't mind stay in the resort the whole day...
The only bottom line is that the hotel has not a proper sea view and that the internal restaurants are pretty expensive.
I loved the sushi at the REBAR, the cocktails and all the staff who were simply amazing.

We stayed in Indigo Pearl for 3 nights in November 2008. Originally we had a Pearl Bed Suite and a Kelly Quarters; then we upgraded to the Pearl Bed Suite to Pearl Botanica Suite at the recommendation of the staff so that we could have 2 connected rooms.

The good stuff first:
Overall I really dig the design and architecture of the hotel. The Tin Mine theme might not be for everybody, but i like it.

The Pearl Botanica Suite was HUGE. It's even got 2 massage beds inside the bathroom area.

The breakfast buffet was good.

The hotel is really close to the airport.

The front desk lady who checked us in was very friendly. However, she's the only staff member who made us feel welcome during our stay.

Now the bad stuff:
There's heavy construction going on in the resort next door. It got really noisy during daytime. The staff member failed to warn us about that.

The concierge sucked. They couldn't come up with any spa recommendation in Patong area (how's that possible?). When we asked them to contact the airline office at the Pucket airport, they told us to call the airline from our room. And of course, there's an additional charge for making local calls from your room. They gave 2 different prices for taxi to Patong. It's 600 Baht the first time and 1000 the second time. Overall the concierge staff seemed under-trained and not helpful.

The cleanliness of the room wasn't up to par with other nice hotel's I've stayed in. The indoor bathtub had quite a few dead bugs inside (ok it's possible that they all died in there after the cleaning crew came, but i find that to be extremely unlikely). The towels on the massage had quite a few stains on them; they just looked kinda yucky.

The TV had very few channels. Both TVs in the suite were kinda blurry. It says "HD Ready" on the TV; maybe there's simply no HD channel feed in Thailand?

There were only 2 public computers available. With a resort this size, having only 2 public computers translated to a long wait every time. I'd recommend to bring your own laptop.

Dining inside the hotel was quite expensive. And there were few choices outside of the hotel. There's a row of several local restaurants on the beach next to the hotel (Linda's Seafood, Mama Mia, Mr. Kobi's, etc). Although the price of those local diners was reasonable, their menus seemed almost identical and the quality simply wasn't there. I wish there were more decent restaurants around the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to others if they've never stayed in Indigo Pearl before just for the architecture alone. But if I were to go to Phucket next time, I'll try something else. I had high expectations, but I was disappointed by the under-trained staff members and the lack of cleanliness in the room. It's the attention to details that separates great hotels from good ones, and I failed to to see that during our stay in Indigo Pearl.

  • Liked — Architecture.
  • Disliked — Useless concierge; lack of dining options around the hotel.

We stayed for 8 nights at Indigo Pear and really enjoyed the experience. We were met at the airport and on entering the hotel car were given cold towels and water which set the tone for the holiday.

The rooms were excellent and the catering staff really excel in presentation and also quality of the food. We ate once at Black Ginger and once at Rivit Bar both of which although expensive were worth doing. We felt that the information on what is available at the hotel and in the restaurants could be better and were told that there was no Sunday Brunch which we had read about but looking at other reviews it appears there was.

The pools are amazing and the new beach club is really good offering unlimited cold water and also for lunches bbq or grills.
We also ate at the beach bars quite a lot and which ever you choose all are of a good standard. We also had some clothes made up at James the Taylor which are also good and much cheaper than at home.

All in all we would recommend this hotel and are sure that it will eventually get its 6 star rating which the General Manager is aiming for.

The general manager is very approachable and open to any comments regarding ensuring service and quality are up to the highest level.

We hope he enjoyed the time hosting the Miss France contentants!

My husband and I have just returned from a trip to Phuket. We stayed at Indigo Pearl for 7 nights. We then went to Phi Phi for 2 nights then returned to Indigo Pearl for 1 night prior to us flying home.

I must admit my booking Indigo Pearl was influenced by the reviews from Tripadvisor though I was quite concerned about isolation, distance to Phuket/Patong and lack of restaurants outside of the hotel. Other reviewers did mention the beach restaurants but I guess you have to see it for yourself for peace of mind.

Booked a Pearl Bed suite for our 7 night stay. The room surpassed my expectations. The Pearl Bed suite was huge. It had the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel room. We had two terraces over looking Pool no. 1. The only gripe (albeit minor) I have was the walk-in robe was an awkward shape but that certainly didn't ruin the stay!

The resort grounds were immaculately maintained. I thought the design of the hotel was fabulous and I don't understand why people who deem it "too modern" bother staying here. Surely one can tell the theme of the hotel by the information provided on the internet.

Breakfast at the hotel was great, they definitely cater for every possible taste. We had a buffet dinner at Tin Mine restaurant which was excellent. Also had a couple of lunches, one by Pool#2 (Adult Pool) and the Beach Club. The prices were pretty expensive but that's to be expected as it is a highly rated resort. We frequented the beachside restaurants quite a bit, Octopus, Mama Mia and Linda Seafood all had amazingly fresh seafood deliciously cooked and so cheap!

I had a massage at Indigo Spa. Far more expensive than what's on offer outside the resort but the spa itself is beautiful and it was a lot better than the THB300 massage I had down the beach the day before.

All in all, absolutely enjoyed our stay at Indigo Pearl. As much as I tried not to, I couldn' t help but compare it to Phi Phi Cabana Hotel (old, bit dirty and run-down). I'm just glad we had one last stay at Indigo Pearl (Pavillion room) before we went home!

  • Liked — Everything, rooms, swimming pools, food, staff, resort grounds
  • Disliked — Fair distance from Phuket but didn't bother us that much in the end.
