“Phen's again and again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We recently stayed at a resort in NaiYang beach, it was a return trip as we had stayed there in 2011 as well. When we arrived we found Phen's closed for refurbishment and were disappointed because it was the first place we ate at on our previous trip so we wanted to make the pilgrimage back. Luckily the work continued around the clock and they were reopened in a few days.
Comparing our meals we had at other restaurants on the beach Phen's offered the same sort of menu selection but we found the garlic and pepper grilled squid and the pork Penang curry to be head and shoulders above the rest!
The service was very friendly and they remembered us from 2011!
The kitchen and the bar area were very clean as these were the areas they improved.
We visited several times over our last few days in NaiYang beach.

“A smile above the rest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

It's a very decent restaurant on the Nai Yang beach strip. There is nothing outstanding about its food - you get exactly the same fare in most places on the beach and probably in Thailand as well. The prices are reasonable. The service is quite good despite the usual limited English. I liked the smiles and they seemed just a little friendlier than an average restaurant. Bonus points for providing a few toys for our impossible toddler. Not a classic restaurant but it's worth visiting when staying around Nai Yang.

“Excellent restaurant in peaceful NaiYang”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Very good restaurant in NaiYang. We got 10% discount as we stayed in Pensiri House (same owner). Price are very correct, cheaper than other restaurant, seafood and thai food is excellent. Impeccable and attentive service.

“The chicken satay is a clear winner!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

This place became our lunchtime regular whilst staying at the extremely close Indigo Pearl resort.

It's on the beach with views of the bay and it almost feel like the Andaman Sea laps up to your feet whilst dining here.

The food is great, the chicken satay is a must try. Moist chicken breast with satay sauce, what more could you ask for. The Som Tum (Papaya Salad) was tasty and had a good balance of spice. The steamed mussels "Thai Style" are delicious as is the Gang Panang.

This place is a gem and I highly recommend a visit.

“Nice location, food a bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We went here for dinner because of its high tripadvisor rating. We have since been to several other restaurants along this strip of beach and are a bit surprised that this restaurant is ranked so highly compared to the other great restaurants on offer in the area.

The location on the beachfront is great, but similar to other restaurants in the area. The setting is particular ambient in the evening when the rubbish on the beach isn't as clearly visible. We went on a Saturday night and there was a guy selling fireworks and lanterns on the beach. It was a nice experience to see the fireworks released as we had our meal.

Apart from the banana fritters and icecream we really didn't rate the food. That was our first massaman curry in Thailand and didn't quite hit the spot. It wasn't very tasty and the peanuts used were not flavoursome.

The setup of the restaurant is nice, but again other restaurants in the area have better setups. This restaurant uses plastic chairs.
