We stayed at Dewa Phuket in Nai Yang for a week, 14-21 March, and we enjoyed it very much. We had a reservation for an apartment and the apartment was great. Everything you needed: coffee-and teamaking facilities, fridge, kitchenette with equipments and separate bed-room and living-room. I was grateful for the two AC:s as it was very hot, and these two were even quiet so you could use the one in the living-room without being disturbed at night. Only thing we were not so comfortable with was that the balconies had very little privacy, but on the other hand it was to hot during sunlight hours and then it got dark fast, so then the privacy was there. We did instead walk down to the beach (just across the road) and go for a drink watching the sunset On the way back we usually stopped at the hotel bar The Bamboo Bar, there was happy hour every day 1700-1900 and the bartender makes fabulous Pina Coladas ;-)
The villas seemed to have total privacy so next time we go we will try a villa.
The breakfast was great (we do still miss the fresh coconuts that were served every morning....), a small buffet but then you could order hot meals (omelette, eggs, asian breakfast etc) from a meny including cappuccino or espresso (this was included in our room-rate).
The hotel had a very peaceful feeling to it and we enjoyed the newsletter very much that arrived each evening telling about the events tomorrow and even some information about the culture in Thailand.
When we were there the Spa had special-offers for different treatments and my husband and I tried a Dewa Serenity hour (at the same time) that included different sorts of massage (swedish, hawaian, thai) with an oil with a scent of your own choice. Heavenly!
We also found the personnel to be very nice and service-minded, all from the receptionists, waiters, bartender, cleaning-lady and all other we met.
Nai Yang has a great beach, is close to the airport but surprisingly you do not get disturbed by the planes- you can see them as they come closer for landing in the north but that is only entertaining!
A long sandy beach, found it to be very nice in the middle and we had a favourite day-place for sunbeds and lunch which was called POONS (orange chairs) with the white dog Singa.
In about 5-10 min from the hotel you will find lots of restaurants to eat at in the evenings, most of them good for example Savoy and Lindas seafood (Kvantas wasn´t that good).
This is not a place to go and party but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, close to a beach and many restaurants within walkingdistance Nai Yang Beach is a great alternative.
We also recommend Dewa Phuket for its peaceful, relaxing feeling and friendly personnel.
