“What a privilage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I was given a trip here for my birthday and was simply blown away at being able to ride in the Lancaster as it taxied with the four Marlin engines roaring into life. The incredible briefing really put into focus the phenominal bravery of the air crews as they left for each mission. A humbling experience, especially as the hanger which houses "Just Jane" also has the remnants of many crashed planes with such poiniant stories of the crews and their lives.
Food and drink is good honest fare and there are a huge ammount of artifacts to pour over throughout the site.
For anyone with an interest in aviation, the war, the bravery of the air and ground crews, the skill of the volunteers, the reason why the owners purchased Just Jane , her story and any one who has ever spent a wet Sunday afternoon watching the Dam Busters or similar type film, this is certainly for you. Total privilage to be able to do this.

“Lanc Taxi run-Bonfire Night 2102”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

What a great evening we had at the Heritage centre for the Lancaster Taxi run. Great atmosphere, with plenty to see in the hanger and surrounding outbuildings. The Taxi run in the dark was amazing, with blue flames visible from the exhausts of the Merlin engines, then followed by a superb firework display which seemed to go on for ages. We certainly be back for another visit during the summer, and again for the bonfire night event.

“A VERY Memorable day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

'Just Jane' is one of only a very few fine examples of the Lancaster Bomber remaining. Time your visit right and you can witness her engines being fired up and see her taxi onto what remains of the airfield. Book in advance to actually be on board while she taxis and get some idea of what it was actually like to be a member of the crew! It's almost like travelling back in time! Even standing beside this iconic aircraft as it taxis is an incredible experience! The is also a large museum that surrounds 'Just Jane' in the hanger. There are also other museum displays on the site as well as a good cafe and shop. Well worth a half day!

“I love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I have been here a number of times now, and there is always something extra to see. But this is as close as you're going to get to a WW2 bomber airfield.

“Great day out at historic site.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

A great day out with the attraction being the home of the "Just Jane" Lancaster and a Dakota, housed in a large hangar with artifacts and vehicles from the allied and axis forces, very moving indeed.
There are numerous displays of wreckage recovered from crash sites and personal items too.
There is also an excellent cafe and shop as well as other buildings, displaying different themes from escaped crews to POW`s, other bombers and local displays and a lovely chapel, displaying the names of the fallen from the 2 wartime squadrons who served there during WW2.
The staff are friendly and helpful and have all worked there for a number of years.
For those interested a Most Haunted episode was filmed there a few years ago.
An excellent day out with regular main events.

Highly recommended, a great day out for all the family.
