“Very nice hotel. Friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

I stayed at this hotel for a work trip, a colleague booked it. I was pleasantly surprised with its coastal location. When I arrived I was met by a very friendly chap at reception. My room was one of the most spacious I ever stayed in (being a more budget traveller). I can see why they're described as a junior suite. In my suite I had a kitchenette, a sitting room with a dinning room table, a large wardrobe, a big bathroom and a double bedroom. Off the bedroom and sitting room was a balcony with furniture to enjoy views of the sea.
The breakfast room has lovely views over the sea and the food was a decent array of different rationalities (croissants, ham, cheese, cereal, yoghurt etc). I think cooked breakfast was available too but I was in a rush.
I was very impressed and am considering going back with my wife to enjoy some Mediterranean weather.

We've just spent six nights here and are leaving tomorrow morning. We stayed in a sea-facing suite which was very spacious. We weren't expecting fabulous luxury for the very reasonable rate, and we didn't find it. That said, we were pleasantly surprised. the living area was large, clean and comfortable, as was the bedroom. I would agree the pillows could do with replacing, but otherwise have no complaints. There was a lovely balcony accessible from both rooms with a spectacular view. The beach is across the street and the train station's a few minutes walk from the hotel, so getting around is easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we've been really pleased.

I would say the room was better than expected, but the restaurant was a revelation.
The food in the hotel restaurant, Claro, is absolutely fantastic. Chef Vitor and his team prepared and served consistently amazing dishes with a real love for what they do and commitment to making sure everything was perfect. We arrived at the hotel 3 committed foodies and didn't expect to eat there much, but ate most of our meals here because the food was so perfect and the entire kitchen team were so amazing. The staff always accomodated any request with a smile. On our first day, we asked if it would be possible to get margaritas, which were not on the menu. We were greeted qickly by the chef with 3 of the most amazingly fresh mandarin margaritas ever. The oysters with creme fraiche were perfect. The seasonal menu was several courses of perfection paired with excellent wines. The lighter bar menu is full of fresh high quality dishes, and the more formal restaurant menu is genius. The wine selections are all lovely and well priced. The service was always warm, extremely accommodating, and friendly. The food in general is fresh, inventive, and cooked and presented with real passion, generosity and commitment. We loved it!

The hotel's a bargain with spacious comfortable rooms and a warm and friendly staff. . The restaurant is an absolute gem. definitely recommended! We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean facing room. There is a little road noise, but the view is lovely and central air m...

I stay here on business regularly as it is close to the business I work with. The view is great, it has a full bar, food and a nice pool and terrace to enjoy the evening and late afternoon. Internet is spotty but the area is nice with some nice eating spots nearby.

Staff are nice enough but it is no four seasons. You pay for what you get.

Will continue to stay here as it is consistently good.

A nice modern 4 star hotel on the marginal (coast) road near Lisbon on the way to Estoril.  Car noise is intense but you are protected by efficient double glazing and adjustable air conditioning. The ocean view from front facing rooms (extra charge) is wonderful. Rooms are a good size as are bathrooms, and we had a suite at no extra charge which was most comfortable. Smallish swimming pool in front of the hotel.

Although the hotel never answered  my emails with a special request the reception was efficient at rectifying this and parking very convenient . Restaurant very good with a very varied menu at standard local prices.

Only negative is the cheap bed mattress used ....the kind which you can feel the springs as you sit on it. The pillows need replacing also.

Otherwise just a regular good and pleasant transit hotel .

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the sea

Very clean and very helpful staff.
Getting the right room is very important, when we arrived we got a room with the view of a wall a never got the sun, I went to ask to change rooms which they did no problem (did have to pay a surcharge) we then got a ocean view with sun all day.
Only problem we had was the location.
You need a car if staying here as there is very little to do in the area
We went to 3 restaurants in the area and not one had a kids menu,we ended up going to Cascais and Estoril for things to do and eat.
If you are looking for total relaxing sunbathing this is perfect, if you have kids you need to look at Cascais to stay for more to do.
Also GPS does not pick up hotel

I’ve just returned from a 7 days vacation to Solar Palmeiras and I enjoyed very much staying in this hotel. First night we had an apartment located in the back of the hotel, which was a little bit noisy since the hotel is pretty close to railways, but we exchange it next day with an apartment with sea view (for an extra 25 €/day), and it was ok. The rooms are very spacious. The hotel is located at very short distance from the beach, which is a very good thing, cause the swimming pool is very small and there are few sun beds. The breakfast was simple but very good. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is located between train stations of Paco de Arcos and Oeiras (10 minutes walk from each of them), which is very convenient cause you can travel to Cascais/Estoril or Lisbon in no time.
We will for sure return to this hotel.

I was very impressed with the location, food and the friendly service. We had a great suite with lots of room, the beds were very comfortable and had large bathroom. The atmosphere is very friendly and it’s located in a great area of Lisbon, close to everything. I look forward to returning soon!
