The lodge was nice, very simple. We really appreciated the in-room mini fridge to put cold drinks in. The bathroom was ok, beds were also ok- decent for where we were. The owners allowed pets, but didn't want our dog up on the beds (reasonable). Chapleaux was about 45 minutes through the back trails by motorcycle or quad.
Fishing was ok- black flies weren't too bad since there were so many dragonflies to fend them off (until this trip I had no idea that dragonflies ate black flies)! May flies were hatching, so the fish weren't very hungry and fishing wasn't super exciting but we did get to see a big 300 lb bear amble across the property one night when we docked from a day of fishing - that was exciting! Altogether a decent, no frills stay.
