“So great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Great great great! My advice:

1.Take the thai massage.
2. Drink on the pool, and lay down on the bubble spot
3. Sleep long on such a great bed and room
4. Rent a scooter
5. Get the thai massage
5. Did I already mention to take the Thai massage?

Room Tip: Do not take a room close the pool, the cabins next to the "spa" are way more silence, and...

My friend and I stayed at Sawasdee Village for three days and we absolutely loved it. The hotel grounds and rooms are just gorgeous and there is a lovely hint of lemongrass and incense filling the place accompanied by soothing music. The staff are really attentive and completely top class: always at pains to make you comfortable, always smiling and always respectful. The rooms are lovely and I loved all the little touches (seat in the shower, complimentary water, dinner and a photo and frame taken on the hotel grounds of you and your companion). The hotel was so lovely that a lot of the time we preferred to stay out in front of the pool on our loungers rather than go outside. The complimentary buffet style breakfast was incredible, there is every type of food you could want and they will even cook you omelettes, pancakes etc. and bring it to your table. There really aren't any complaints or caveats to mention, I would wholeheartedly reccommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kata Beach.

Stayed here for five nights in mid August after travelling around SE Asia for a couple of weeks.

First impressions are that the hotel is fantastic looking, definitely does the photos justice, pool area is tropical, reception area (indoor and outdoor waiting area) very nice. All areas of the hotel are very clean and there are always cleaning staff walking around.

Close to the beach (ten - fifteen mins walk around club med hotel), main street of Kata is 2 minutes away and plenty of restaurants shops and markets.

Only two complaints that prevented five stars; insects (they have mosquito nets, spray, balm etc. but can't stop the insect bites) which are about bearable and to be expected in a hotel made of wooden materials etc and check out was a bit slow. Rooms weren't massive but we knew that before we left and it was worth it to have a door right onto the pool.

Area wise Phuket is not as easy to get around as some places, taxis are a bit expensive and there's no non-phuket town buses but most of the areas seemed to be similar resorty (except for Patong).

As an aside, there's a great travel agent across from the hotel, gave us a rainy season discount and moved dates after we missed a tour due to illness

Room Tip: Pool side villa a must

We stayed at sawasdee 2 years ago. This time we went back with my family a total of 7 people. And like last time service was wonderful. If they can do anything to help they will. The resort itself is so beautiful. Staff in every area are so lovely, from pool bar, house keeping to reception and restaurant. You may see in other reviews about the Mosquitos and yeah they are bad, but staff do all they can, at night they come and put coils out the front, and spray your room in the turn down. And they leave a bottle of repellent in the room. But it's a small price to pay, I guess they hang around as there is so much tranquil water and beautiful gardens that the resort is always cooler than the street! We had a massage at the spa and it was lovely. We also at a cheaper price went right next door and the girls are so wonderful, we wanted to take them home. Such lovely people. All in all 1 of the best places I have stayed in Thailand. Couldn't possibly say anything bad about the place! :)

Nicely decorated room, albeit a bit small and cramped if you are staying there for a long time. Cosy architecture in the room and the village area. The breakfast is extensive and I dont think anyone could want for additional food options. The only things that could be improved are wifi service (our room only had intermittent access), and the water temperature in the shower (it would go from hot to cold erratically).

Do yourself a favor and try one of these two story luxuries. The little private pool opens into another private pool shared with other villa guests - we only saw one other couple out there once. The interior decor is lovely with the most romantic bathroom/bedroom setup ive ever seen. Oh theres also an outdoor shower which adjoins the private deck/pool - again, so romantic. You can eat breakfast in their restaurant with a wonderful buffet or have it prepared to order and delivered to your villa at no extra charge - we did both and had a hard time deciding because we loved it all. The only downsides I can come up with are that its pretty vegetative - as in, take your bug spray and we did see one atrocious huge spider up in the trees over the pool. Also the hotel is not right on the beach but its a very quick and interesting walk to Kata or they provide an easy shuttle. The customer service is wonderful and they want to please you. The grounds of the hotel are like paradise.

Room Tip: pay the extra $ for a Baray Villa - its worth every baht
