“Exotic, comfortable, beautiful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

This Hotel has everything you need in Thailand. The beautiful and typical architecture of the lobby and pool areas, the thai style of the rooms will make you really feel you're in Thailand.
The staff is very kind, the food (breakfast) is superb and you will feel very welcome there. I strongly recommend it, specially after the awful experience we almost had at Kata Country House.

We stayed at the Kata Palm resort for the last few days of our honeymoon holiday. We had requested a honeymoon deluxe suite and got an average double suite (not a big deal).
Check in time was extremely slow - 40 minutes waiting in lobby, not sure what for as the room was available.
Late check out was going to cost us a full day's rate so we went to a guesthouse for our last day.

We loved the pool and spent a lot of our day hanging around the pool area.
We found the staff at pool bar extremely helpful, and the food and drinks were good and not too pricy.

We HATED the breakfast buffet. We found all bread stale, minimal "western" options, and we didnt even think that the eastern options were good. We ate fruit and yoghurt for breakfast.

We booked this hotel at the Phuket airport and got a very good price. Much better price then if we had showed up without a reservation. We stayed 3 nights. The rooms are big and clean. Typical hard thailand bed. The bathrooms have bathtubs which was a nice treat after a very long flight from the west coast of the U.S. The breakfast was good with a large selection of Thai and western. The swimming pool was great. It is clean and meanders through the entire resort. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. We were there high season end of Jan. and the beach was packed!!!! If you want a beach chair from the hotel you need to get to the reception desk by 8:00 am to sign up. First come first serve. The hotel is in a good walking location for local street eateries that offer very good food. We would definitely return to Kata Palm. F.Y.I it is about a hour from the airport due to traffic!

We almost did not book this hotel because of bad breakfast review! This is so surprising as we stayed at 2 other resorts on our trip, and this was the best buffet Brekky by far. Hotel is great, pool awesome and everything was great value for money. Room was the only negative, I cannot remember the type, but its the one with the outdoor bathroom! The room was great, but it was a bit dark and had no balcony, I guess because of the outdoor bathroom. Otherwise great hotel in great spot for the money.

It's was my second visit to Kata Palm in 3 years. The check in was not the best as the man at the counter seemed to be having a confused dithering day. He shuffled the same papers about 4 times whilst looking for our reservation and then finally found it in the same group of papers. It took him about 15 minutes to photocopy 3 passports whilst he sifted thru the paperwork. It seemed like he had no idea of what he was doing. Anyway, we were pleased with our spacious room when we were finally checked in. The rooms are clean and all have a nice view over the pools. Beds are still rock hard but this happens in a lot of thai hotels. The gardens are beautifully kept and whilst the hotel was full, it never seemed crowded due to the hotels layout. I have to say that the breakfast has gone down hill since my last visit, but was still ok. Overall, a good place to stay in Kata.

We stayed here 3 nights while in Phuket. We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious and clean, had a nice balcony overlooking the pool area. Breakfast had quite a large selection of both Thai and Western and European breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance to Kata Beach and lots of restaurants and shops to both the left and right of hotel.

We spent 3 nights at the Kata Palm Resort. We flew into Phuket and walked up to a tout at the airport and told her how much we were willing to spend and after a few phone calls she booked us into the Kata Palm. We got a much better rate going through the travel agent at the airport then on line or if we would had booked direct at the Hotel. The rooms are big and all have a bath tub which was nice after a very long flight from the U.S. west coast. We stayed in a basic room with pool view. Rooms are big, clean and all have a small deck over looking a pool. The beds are hard like most beds in Thailand. The swimming pool flows throughout the entire hotel. The pool is clean and not too crowded but you do want to get a chair early in the day. Breakfast is good. A large selection of Western and Thai. We would definitely stay here again. What I didn't like is how far from the airport it is due to traffic it took about a hour. Also the beach down and across the street was very crowded!!!!! Read what others have written about getting a beach chair from the hotel for the day. I enjoyed the pool more then the beach! Plenty of places to eat at for dinner. We liked the local street venues.

Room Tip: Higher floors above pool are quieter.
