“Cozy little retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My husband and I stayed in this little cozy retreat back in November of 2012. Being on a budget, this place delivered everything we could ask for. I will say, Kata beach wasn't as amazing as we had hoped, however Dario, the owner, provided us a ton of help in locating some smaller secluded beaches, renting a scooter and planning our excursions. The resort itself is very small and basic, nothing too fancy, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. We had the superior room. The only thing which would have made this better would have been a more comfortable bed and less mosquitos (out of the hotel's control). Overall, a great experience though!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

I had a lovely stay here in April 2013. Room was spacious, clean and walked out on a pool area.

The breakfast is delicious and the atmosphere is very personal and warm.

The staff is excellent, they booked my onward travel arrangements for me. They also rent out motorbikes if you want to see the island.

Beach is about 8 min away, but it's a pleasant walk, and worth it when you get there. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water is Ao warm, I would swim for hours at a time!

Have fun!

If you wait for five-star resort type thing, you are going to disappoint. But for the money a great place to sleep. The airconditioning wasn't that powerful, but kept the room a little bit colder than the outside heat. Water pressure was quite minimal on the shower, but we were able to wash ourself.
Room was tidy and the receptionist was really helpful.
A big positive suprise was the breakfest, my boyfriend loved the banana pancake :)

My boyfriend and I stayed in a standard room, and it was very very rundown. There were tiles missing, and mold coming through the floor. There were parts of the floor that you would step on and water would seep through the tiles.

We stayed in 10 different hotels in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. All for around the price of this one, (Some half the price) And this was the worst room of our month long trip.

The staff was great, and the breakfast was not too bad.

It's not too far of a walk from the beach, but at night you have to walk down a dark side street.

Would not recommend.

I stayed at Manohra for 8 days at the end of March. If you are contemplating making this your choice of hotel in Phuket, do your self a favour and pay the extra for the superior room. These rooms are well appointed, facing onto the pool area, where you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the fountain and waterfall. The rooms themselves are clean with comfortable beds, a good size bathroom (with door) and a roomy shower recess with a combination of rainfall shower and hand held one.
The location is very good, tucked away from the main street in a peaceful and attractive garden, a lovely pool being the centrepiece, this was one of the things that drew me to this place, so many of the hotels in Phuket open onto a busy street and if they don't, you would be spending a lot more than you would at this hotel, hence the value.
The staff here are very friendly and accommodating.
Now for the reasons I only give this a rating of 4: Yes there is a buffet breakfast BUT it hardly varies from day to day, only in that one day there are scrambled eggs, the next fried AND on day 6 of my stay no eggs at all! After 8 days of this breakfast I was over it! The only choice of bread is the white packaged stuff, the juice is not fresh (tastes like cordial), the coffee (unless you specifically ask for it) is the same instant packets they provide in the rooms, the bacon and sausages are undercooked and the banana pancakes are made in one batch and left on an uncovered dish where they quickly become cold. The fresh fruit is on dishes with covers, but those covers are beginning to split and one IS totally split in half, seriously how much would it cost to replace something like that?! It begins too late (8 am) and all tours leave before then. I know I've gone on a bit about the breakfast but as my favourite meal of the day, it is important to me.
Another area where I think there is a bit of penny pinching going on is the mini bar. I would certainly expect to pay for alcohol and soft drinks but I believe that bottled water should be complimentary, not 30 baht each! No milk is provided in the room, so you have to go find someone to get you a jug of milk from the kitchen.
Finally, though they have a lovely pool, algae is starting to cover the sides of it, needs more regular cleaning. Still, it's lovely to come back to a take a dip at the end of another hot day.
So, in summary, I suppose there is nothing seriously wrong with this hotel that a few small improvements wouldn't put right.

My boyfriend and I booked this place to stay for one night only and our experiences was very very good! the place is very cute but is not how it looks in the advertisement, the prices were fair. Yes...therooms could be way better, more updated and modern, BUT, for that price and considering is Phuket and the location believe me is worth it!
Phuket has a lot of sketchy places, near to bars and the prostitution zone, and this place is thankfully away of that, away of all the noises and bar zone, but at the same time its location is very convenient.
The employees here are FANTASTIC!, they are really helpful and willing to accommodate everything for you so you can have a nice stay in general, providing you with information, taxis, everything!
Manohra also is probably one of the kind as they have included in the price a breakfast buffet, fruit, juice, milk, coffee, pancakes, sausages, yogurth, toasted, and other goodies waiting for you as soon as you wake up so you dont have to worry about where to have your bkfst! We love this so much! :D
Manohra you have our hearts!

Our stay here was a disappointment. Based on the reviews here we expected much better. What we discovered once we arrived is that the superior rooms may be worthy of a decent rating - but the standard rooms are sub-par. They seemed dirty, run down, and by no means something worth 5 stars. I would never recommend someone to stay in the standard room here - we have stayed other places near by and paid less money for much much nicer rooms. The standard is musty, run down, and the bed is horribly lumpy. The management is friendly and helpful, however if you book here do not book a standard room - it is not worth the savings.
