“Awesome home-style Thai meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We accidentally took the long detour, walked all around Taka town, before we found this place! (Later, we realized it’s only a couple blocks from the beach!) But this restaurant has such a wonderful reputation that it was worth our long hike under the hot Phuket sun! We enjoyed a fabulous lunch here, everything was delicious and it felt like eating food cooked by your own mother! The best crab curry ever! Large chunks of succulent crab meat and potato stewed in a yellow coconut curry. We also loved the grilled beef salad: tender slices of beef, perfectly grilled and served with fresh cucumber, carrot, basil, mint, lemongrass, and red onion. The combination of the herbs and the spicy/sour dressing was fantastic, enhanced the complex flavors of this dish. And, of course, our favorite Thai dish: sautéed morning glory (water spinach) was excellent!

We each drank 2 coconuts with our lunch! Ice cold and so refreshing! We’ve decided that Thai coconuts are much sweeter and tastier than the coconuts from back home Hawaii. The waitress was so happy when we told her this!

Nice, casual setting with relaxing atmosphere. Intriguing collection of retro posters and old photographs on the wall.
Lunch for two 550Baht (about $17US). Highly recommended.

“Above average food, decent service, good Thai staples on offer, standard Kata prices.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012 via mobile

Ate here twice during our stay in Kata. Had a great squid curry the first time and a good yellow curry the second time. My girlfriend had the phad Thai which was slightly disappointing. Prices are standard for kata resort. Would recommend as a good solid choice for a Thai meal. If you want to treat yourself go to the restuarant at the sawasdee resort, best massaman curry I've had, not cheap but really good food.

“Do not judge the food on the interior”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We would haven't have gone and tried this place if it wasn't for the reviews convincing us to and we are really glad we gave it a go. The food was amazing, first impressions are not really that good and you could easily walk past this place as it doesn't look as good and some other places. But give it a try the food was brilliant, good choice and the staff are very friendly, the price is really good too, we had two big bottles of beer (Singha) starter between us and two main meals and the bill was under 1,000 tbh (about £20.00).

“Excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Lucky was very friendly and gave the kids puzzles to play with. The food was very fresh. The restaurant decor was more like a basic lunch time cafe but they had fresh bright table clothes. No hesitation in recommending it. Four of of us ate an evening meal plus non alcoholic drinks for about 1000 baht.
