“What was the hype about??”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

Headed down to Kwong's on our 1st night in Kata (21/2/13). There was only 2 other tables that were occupied - beats me why the superbly slow service. We actually waited more than an hour before our food (2 pad thais & 2 fried rice) were served. By then the kids were already very agitated. So NOT Okay.

“Fantastic food......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

This place really does great fish and Thai food. Ok the setting isn't fantastic but how can you knock a place with Connect 4 on every table whilst you wait for your food? I reckon you'll have one of your best meals in Thailand here. we certainly did. It's got no frills, isn't especially romantic but then if you are with the one you love, everywhere is romantic anyway. You'd be crazy to be in Kata Beach and not come here...

“Excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

This small unpretentious restaurant gave excellent value for money. They invited you to choose your fish from the display at the front and coked it to your liking. On our first visit we had two fish and there was far too much. Subsequently we chose one large fish and shared it.. Fresh fried red snapper, delicious. The proprietor wanders round encouraging the clients by making a fist and crying "okaaaay,!

The service is a bit slow but the wait is worthwhile because everything is freshly cooked to order. There are games such as Connect Four on the tables to amuse you while you wait.

This place is really worth a visit. The prices are unbelievably low and the food is excellent.

“bad place!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

First and last time in this bad restaurant; it's the worst place during our stay in kata beach; we have read the good feedback about this place but............please, you don't go there. The fish isn't fresh, bad cooked and smell of ammonia......do you know what does it means? It means that the fish is old many days and they use the ammonia for maintain a good look, but it's dangerous for our healt; please, trust in me, i worked in a fish market in the past and i know the fresh fish; i hope that place close very soon.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

For the price it is difficult to beat, yes the owner will say Ok to you whole evening, but he is charming. we ordered the live spiny lobster shrimp and calamari all were fresh and tasty. We also had some watermelon juice served in shaved ice very tasty and refreshing
