“First time but NOT the last time.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

Metadee is beautiful. The pool space and landscape is generous. The staff are efficient and understanding giving the whole stay a conplete holiday feel without being over fussy. Sawadeeka/kap can be heard all over the gounds as we're greeted at breakfast or by the pool side or bar or anytime you run into the staff. the rooms are spacious, homey and sufficient, the beach towels are replenished once a day. And it really is a brisque 15mins walk away passing colorful shops and restaurants. Lots of pharmacies outside the resort, by the way. most rooms have a pool view , we opted for the top floor that gave us the view of the grand mountain and blue of the pool below. Its a very free and easy feeling at Metadee. Staff will always have solutions for any enquiries, and shuttle to beach is every hour. bathrooms are HUGE! the drinks are a tad expenaive but there's a lovely wine shop is 10 minutes away by car, a good bottle of prosecco was around 600 bath, i bought 2 :)
Lunch is pretty quiet and not as atmospheric BUT go and EXPLORE! And Metadee is a good location for a beach resort. Good for young families, couples or parents with older kids. And great fun for groups if they can respect other guests. There is a kids club but we found out too late as we were having too much fun anyway! Rooms are clean. And beds comfortable ask for extra pillows!

I would highly recommend this place for anyone, the staff are tremendous who cannot do enough for you, they are friendly and they make you feel special. The pool is amazing, the food is perfect. This place is in a great location, quiet and away from all the busyness of Patong, but still close enough to be a part of it if you want to. A great place to relax and enjoy it. Special mention to the great staff at the resort, Mhee, Fah, Boy, Sebastian, Golf and Nick.

Room Tip: The pool access rooms are great, but others in the pool can see in your room, but the pool view room...

Just checked out of Metadee resort, and I have to say it is just OK. When we first checked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member. Although she was friendly, it was very difficult to understand her while she was zipping through hotel amenities in a rush. I attempted to ask her several questions but was met with a confused frustrated look 0.o!! So that was that, next she promptly gave us our hotel key and room number and we proceeded. To our surprise our room was not the one we booked online and it felt like somebody stuffed 2 fresh lemongrass up our nostrils & slapped us in the face with a palm full of lemongrass oil. We were standing in front of 2 twin beds when we booked a king size bed. So we called the front desk to address our complaint, the front desk said "sorry we don't have a king size bed, is that OK?". We just politely asked to find another room or upgrade for the inconvenience. They called back after 5 minutes and pretty much said "Sorry. We will send somebody to squish the 2 beds together to make 1 big bed". At this point I had no more patience and basically said we wanted a refund so we could book a hotel elsewhere. The girl at the front desk said "K, give me a minute.". LITERALLY it took 1 minute for her to call us back and get the room we ORIGINALLY BOOKED. SMH, the new room was being cleaned so we just put our stuff down and went for a walk. When we got back everything was clean (so we thought). We just let out a big sigh of relief; FINALLY! Just as we were about to jump into bed we noticed a huge nasty stain on the blanket! At that point I just laughed... We removed the dirty blanket to find another dirty stained sheet... Nuff said we called and they came and apologized for the 5th time in 60 minutes. I think I must have set a hotel record. They came back to replace sheets and blankets. And while it was being done, we got a nice complimentary exotic fruit platter. Other than that the interior was beautifully decorated and our king size bed had a pest net to shelter us from those nasty mosquitoes. If your like me and enjoy dry cool air, leave the A/C on 17*C at all times. Hopefully you will have better luck :)

Room Tip: MAKE SURE YOU GET THE ROOM YOU BOOKED. Don't accept anything else unless it's an upgrade...

The staff, rooms, service, cleanliness and breakfasts here are all exceptional. Only things me and my partner did not like about the Hotel was the bar which did not have much variety in liquors and some were low shelf in quality.

The staff are excellent, all extremely attentive, greeting you with a smile etc. Did not eat a lunch or dinner here so cannot comment on that side but breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are well equipped with plenty of accessories such as beach bags, towels etc. We learnt how to correctly say some more Thai words from the bar staff who were great and friendly. We also requested a power adapter from reception which was provided at no charge. If booking getting breakfast included would be a good idea as even though the food outside is cheap on the street, the breakfast in the Hotel is very well done and has an amazing selection for all cultures.

Definitely recommended if needing to stay along Kata road in Karon.

Room Tip: The Pool Access rooms allow you to step straight into the pool from your room which is great. Of cou...

This resort is absolutely amazing, we stayed here with 30 of our closest friends and family and each and every one of them cannot fault this hotel. From check in to check out this place is a must visit, and we will be returning!

Pros
We were upgraded as we were getting married to a beautiful Access Pool Villa. It was HUGE, the bed was amazing, there was a dressing room and the bathroom was MASSIVE. They filled the bathtub with flower petals and left us wedding gifts. We felt extremely spoilt.
Happy hour cocktails are half price, the bar staff are amazing.
All the staff knew all of our guests and their hotel rooms by the end of the stay
Close to all the great shops and restaurants in Kata, and a golf cart to ferry guests tp the end of the driveway if walking didn’t take our fancy.
Breakfast was really yummy.

Cons
We had to leave!
Flies, but they were at every hotel, so not Metadees fault.

Thank you to the team for such an amazing experience, we will see you again soon!

Just come back from a week in Phuket where we stayed at this resort. We had the access pool villa room which was fantastic, straight into the huge warm pool directly from our big room, which also had an outdoor shower. Room was comfortable, a nice big comfortable king bed, huge bathroom with heaps of bench space and a nice walk through wardrobe with lots of luggage space. The room was clean and the staff were great and helpful. Buffet breakfast was excellent with a great range of different foods, cooked nice and fresh. The only negative i could find was the expensive bar, if the bar prices were a bit more reasonable i think a lot more of the guests would have utilized the area, which was quiet most of the time we were there. If You're looking for a big room, with a big pool in a nice location this is the place for you, we will be returning next year.

Room Tip: if not going for a private villa spend the bit extra and get a pool access room

Travelled over Xmas for family wedding. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a private villa due to the resort being booked up. The villa is gorgeous with your own private plunge pool and outdoor shower. Villa decor was lovely and lighting set an ambience. Had we stayed in the room we would of been very cramped and the rooms were not decorated or furnished as nicely as the villa. The pool is awesome, great to be able to swim up to your room and around the resort. Unfortunately the food is mediocre and not alot of variety, due to being previously ill I was required to be on a strict diet and communicating my needs with the staff was frustrating. We payed a ridiculous amount of money to have New Years Eve at the resorts party, the food was average and so was the entertainment. Staff need further training on guest management. A great resort for families with room for improvement on service.
