I booked this restaurant for my sister's birthday meal intending to have the menu degustation with accompanying wines that was promoted on its web site. Upscale London prices but it was her birthday. In the event, the menu had changed the previous week and there was no degustation menu any more (in fact the mention of it and showing it on the web site on my phone caused complete confusion).
So, we ended up spending 15 minutes ordering a la carte with cheap NZ white wine which at least saved me half the amount I had been willing to pay but wasn't the treat I was expecting.
The food was amusingly amateurish, but willing. And the evening was saved by the people working there. In particular, Su (I think that was her name) was great. And the F&B director who was holding the fort while the head chef was on holiday was amiable and chatty and made me wish I'd met him when we'd arrived so we could have eaten as originally intended.
I don't know. It probably is one of the best restaurants in the area but for the price you expect major city quality and here they struggled.
