We started the evening of by a drink at the beach club of the ReKaTa.
Looking for my friends and colleagues as I was a bit late, I was rapidly and superbly hosted by the team who conducted me to the table where everybody was already enjoying a cocktail.
I was recommended by a member of the staff to try out their new cocktail with Grand Marnier, which I took and very much enjoyed over sound of Paco de Lucia (flamenco music) and resound of the waves overlooking through the funky led pool.
After our cocktail our appetite started to build up so we decided to go to table.
We did a very little walk from the ReKaTa to the Boathouse as they are linked to each other.
Our table was the "captains table" looking straight to the kitchen for one side and the other towards the beach.
As we went with a group, a discovery menu card was handed over to us which was probably decided by our host.
I was a bit septic because you never know, some don't enjoy meats others seafood. It was a well balanced menu.
With duck, braised lamb, extraordinary scallops (size and freshness, I presume USA), snow fish with chanterelle mushrooms served as the Thai style (everybody shares)
Yes the food is done by a French Maitre Cuisinier so the cuisine is very French.
The man serving our table was kind and good caring Mr. Kai. with a strong Thai accent which gives you all the charm of being in Thailand.
I did have to ask twice the name of "seafood katin" which was "seafood Gratin" but even for a non Thai it is a hard word :)
We had excellent wine to accompany the food, probably one of the most impressive wine cellar on the island. There is a bottle over twelve thousand Euros.
The dessert was the favorite of everybody at the table, a caramel ice cream served with an apple tart.
I will definitively return on a sunset to enjoy this dessert as I am sure that the prices must be more than the average spending but well justified for the quality of products, preparation and service.
Oh... and last but not least two thumbs up for the person who greeted me and came to check the table to see if all was fine. Mr. Lopez (Santiago) who surely is a passionate and presumably the F&B.
