“Another happy group holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Twenty-four of us aged from 17 to 79 stayed at Villa Cortijo for a week from 6th - 13th October, and loved it! As others have said, there is all the space and peace you could possible want, and if you don't want peace all the time, there is no one around to hear you singing in the night!

Plenty of parking space outside the gates for our three minibuses.

Stefan was our friendly host, providing an interesting and plentiful breakfast, as well as good local information.

Lovely pool, lovely gardens, and - was it the cicada out there serenading us once darkness fell?

We didn't know the weather could be so wonderful in Spain in October - but now that we do know, we'll be back.

Room Tip: We slept in the room with the four-poster bed - comfortable bed, large room, big wardrobes, and a lo...

We've just returned from a wonderful fortnight at Cortijo Andalus. We were a group of 14 ranging from 6 to 70. Each apartment is roomy, comfortable and beautifully decorated but what really makes this a great destination for large groups are the various shared spaces - the large and shaded courtyard with a long table for family eating, the fabulous hall, the games room with several cushions and couches, the small garden outside of the old house and the shaded naya outside of the games room.
Each apartment has its own kitchen, lounge and dining area, great for individual breakfasts when it's too early to face the rest of the group! For the rest of the time, we tended to use the large, well equipped kitchen in the old part of the house to prepare group lunches and evening meals. The additional courtyard and BBQ area at the back of the kitchen was peaceful and also has a long table and chairs for shared dining.
The cortijo is perfect for a holiday for large groups when you want to get together but also need your own space. Our group of teenagers couldn't believe their luck when we assigned them their own apartment/house - well away from the rest of the family/group!
The pool is large and safe for small children and non-swimmers with plenty of sun beds and space for lounging about.
The small town of Rute, approx 6kms away, has a large supermarket and several smaller shops. The village of Iznajar is perfect for bread, coffee and the post office! One of our girls was poorly whilst on holiday and received great (but slow) service from the local medical centre, using her E111 card.
And finally, the hosts Stefan and, in his absence Andres, were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble and their relaxed and welcoming approach really made our holiday. They organised several drinks deliveries, the hire of a very large drinks fridge, a fantastic tapas chef and a wonderful beauty therapist for massages and treatments. A perfect holiday.

Our group of 17 (celebrating a 50th birthday) had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The set up was perfect, large clean rooms with immaculate bathrooms, wonderful spaces to lounge, a gorgeous pool and plenty of room to celebrate. Stefan, our host, assisted us with every need from recommending tours and excursions, to helping with a bit of tricky banking. We would recommend this place in a heartbeat!f

For my daughters hen week her sister had booked an amazing Villa 'Cortijo Andalus' in Iznajar she wanted something different as the group ages ranged from 15 to 53 and the villa at Iznajar had it all.

The week started perfectly and we were met by our transfer transport and the owner of the villa Stefan (a jewel in any body's crown).

There were 14 of us and as we entered the courtyard we were stunned the villa is absolutely breathtaking surrounded by olive trees, solitude and the heat.

The villa itself is designed and furnished in a Moroccan/Contemporary style and the en-suite facilities were perfect no squashing into tiny bathrooms.

As a large group we could be as loud as we wanted and played music till the early hours with no complaining neighbours.

We were especially pleased with the Chef's menu the food was excellent, cooked by the equally proficient Chef Nick.

Another plus were events organised by Stefan the villa host; the musicians and flamenco dancers that he laid on gave an outstanding and beautiful show one evening, and the daily massage sessions by Phillipa Pascoe were a treat for all.

If I could do it all again I wouldn't change a thing (other than I would have gone for longer as it was all so perfect).

If anyone wants a villa holiday with the wow factor this is it!

A big thank you to Stefan from us all.
