Stayed here for 1 night as part of of our Costa Rica Tour. Accommodation was basic, clean and comfortable. Be warned, however, that they turn the generators off at 9.00 pm when everything plunges into total darkness. There is supposed to be emergency lighting for just a few minutes in the bedroom, but we couldn't find ours. Food was basic but good.
The ride on the aerial tramway was very pleasant and interesting but we didn't much wildlife, neither on the tramway nor on the walk through the rainforest. Except, that is, for the guided nightwalk ( with our guide, Leo ) when we did see some interesting wildlife, including : a Bird Eating Tarantula, a beautiful Orb Spider. a Blunt Headed Vine Snake, a Unicorn Grasshopper and Leaf Cutting ants. The flora around the Lodge was very interesting and colourful. We enjoyed a very pleasant early morning walk before breakfast down to the river. As an introduction to Rainforests it was quite good but we enjoyed subsequent visits to Corcovado and Tortuguero National Parks much more.
