This is one place we will definitely be returning to. I don't think that La Dordogne is particularly well known outside of France, but it should be! It has the most wonderful landscape and climate and I guess this is why Caroline and Sean Feely chose it to run their wonderful vineyard, Chateau Haut Garrigue, which they so generously and expertly share with their many visitors every year. Caroline is a wonderful guide and during our 2-day walking tour of her vineyard and others in the area, we learnt a lot about bio vine cultivation and harvesting. We also got to taste the various wines that are grown on their vineyard together with some amazing complementary food. Tres bon! And we got to meet like-minded Francophiles and wine lovers, so everybody gelled no matter where in the world they came from. Walking through vineyards and the local terrain was sheer pleasure, and then stopping for lunch at a local village restaurant was just the icing on the cake! We stayed with a wonderful couple, Nadine and Jacques, just outside the beautiful little village of Saussignac and were treated there to a culinary experience 'par excellence' from Nadine. All in all, a return visit is certainly on the cards.
