I visited Lansdowne on 23rd Dec along with my family and checkin in Blue pine resort. the resort is 3 kms before Lansdowne so you need to have your own vehicle if you want to go to Lansdone from here. There is no Mobile coverage in this hotel so you need to depend on hotel landline. The hotel is good. Room service is also fine. The only drawback is food. You dont find good variety of food in this hotel. All the meals served is just basic food [Rice, Veggy & Dal]. People who drink will have to arrange their own drinks as this hotel doesn't serve alcohol. So if you want to stay away from busy life of Metros then it is a decent location to come and spend your time.

If you are a nature lover, care for unspoilt nature's bounty like crystal clear pine scented fresh air, good sunshine in the back drop of icy breeze and a unhindered view of the valley rich with pine and silver oak trees, then Blue Pine is THE PLACE. It took me a bit of research, in deciding which place to stay at. I chose Blue Pine(amongst a few other options available) for the perfect location and the style of building their resort such that all rooms face the valley and have huge windows for a magnificient view. The cottages are built at different levels on the slope of a mountain.

The horticulturists (mali's in Hindi) employed by Blue Pine resorts, are very enterprising. They took me on a conducted tour in the resort's gardens through a burst of beautiful roses, rhodendrons, cock's combs, dahlias, petunia's, calendula's, and many more mountain flowers besides sweet lime, Chinese gauvas.

You can climb up to the peak of the mountain slope on which the resort is built and view the snow capped mountains on the other side. What a view!!

One can walk along the road and see the local architecture and flora and fauna.

There is no transmission of mobile signals inside the resort. This place is not recommended for people who will be very uncomfortable if their handets are not always connected to the network. One can climb up to the peak ( a 10 to 15 min trek) to be connected with the network or walk down to behind the temple( a 5 minute walk from Blue Pine) to be connected to the network.

Also this is not a five star resort. But it has decent sized rooms/cottages which have all the necessary furniture and gadgets. The food is quite good. I visited their kitchen and the manager was kind enough to explain their supply chain. They make sure that fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products and poultry comes in. The house keeping in the kitchen was impressive.

Their staff is responsive and well groomed. They are not fluent in English but make efforts to serve. The most surprising part is tariffs for room and food........ Budget prices.

Good place only for those who are not looking for shopping or for malls, and care for nature's beauty.

Room Tip: Take the cottage at the topmost level for best view of the valley

It is a very well managed place. The highlight is the food they serve - extremely good. One must take all meals inclusive plan. Lansdowne is a tiny place so you are in the hotel most of the time. Great views from the balconies and table tennis and DJ are fun. One suggestion for the management though - the smaller attached rooms should have better lighting to facilitate reading.

Room Tip: They have spacious family rooms .

Returned today from a 3D/2N trip with family & what a superb time we all had....7 hours road trip from Gurgaon, hassle free check-in & a wonderful time there onwards. Lovely views, pleasant staff, good food, nice recreation room with carrom board, TT, gym equipments & badminton provide ample opportunities to keep you engaged. The only 2 twists -
- as some reviewers have commented, come 7pm everyday & loud, music pollutes the pristine environment - the inhouse DJ starts spinning tracks in front of a bonfire under the open air, where i'd otherwise have loved to sit quietly with a beverage with family members. A request to the hotel management: in case this music session essential, have this inside an auditorium/room - don't damage the environment up. Those who enjoy the music can indulge within closed doors.
- the other twist: the hotel does not accept credit cards, so please carry cash!

Room Tip: be sure to ask which floor the room is, as we had to climb quite a few steep stairs (equivalent to 2...
