“A lot of flowers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Grown as a crop, the flowers in this field of dreams in South Petherton are a sight well worth beholding. There were so many sunflowers this year you might have thought yourself in France.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

The whole concept is fantastic. One of the more simple but spectacular places on offer to visit on a warm summers day. Not to be missed. An English meadow of yesteryear.

“Simple idea, stunning result”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

We were able to find the field using the map downloaded from the website at Barcroft Hall, but there were no signs locally to attract or aid the passing tourists. We only found out about it through the BBC Gardener's World programme. One section was heart shaped and planted in mainly yellow, and another was planted out with camomile and sunflowers to remember the victims of the Japanese tsunami. The main field was stuffed full of over 50 types of flower in all shades of pink through purple to blue, with a scattering of white, yellow and orange starting to open as the summer finally warms up. A very simple field laid out with some paths cut through so you could walk knee deep in flowers and just enjoy the colour and the buzzing of the bees.
Would recommend half an hour to an hour here to chill out in between a visit to East Lambrook gardens or perhaps Barrington Court, one of the nearby National Trust places. No entrance fee but donations for charity and option to buy similar seeds to take home.

“Pleasant wildflower garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Pretty space with lots of buzzing and a few hives - just don't expect a "grand" garden or to spend hours there.
