“Not a Boutique Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We based our decision to book on the website, which describes itself as a boutique hotel. However, when we arrived the main building with the restaurant and the reception were new, but the hotel rooms are part of an old motel that backs onto a main road. You can even still park your car right outside your door and the rooms have just been given new furniture and a coat of paint. The staff were really demoralised and not friendly and they were not too surprised when we decided to check out, quite soon after we checked in. We found a real boutique hotel in Nottingham Road and forfeited our deposit. It was the right decision.

Newly opened resort, well situated to explore the midlands meander. the meander has scenic drives and great activities and shopping to suit all ages and budgets.
the chalets are well appointed, very tastefully decorated and luxurious, have the best quality crockery, appliances and linen. the units are bright airy and spacious. decks have a jacuzzi which you can relax in while absorbing the great views and the roaming wildlife the resort has to offer.
staff are friendly. the only downside about the unit is that it has no airconditioning and the lodges could do with their own swimming pool and jungle gym play area for kids since the hotel facilities a bit away from the lodges.
I would definetly recommend this resort to anyone looking for comfort and luxury, loved it!!

We visited many venues, and The Windmills Boutique Hotel came tops by far.

From the first chat to being shown the venue up to our Big Day, Lise,
excelled - over 15 years of experience, she exceeded our
expectations - I have no words to describe the experience. It was that Chapel that made us not think twice about our venue. It is the best by far from what we've seen.
Many guests went as far as saying they will be recommending the venue
as best choice.

Friday night, 25 Nov, a day before the Wedding, we went to do some touch-ups without prior arrangements, and were surprised to get support from Lise's team who offered assistance, with a great smile.

The Food was excellent - is also the highlight as experienced by The
Guests, and we testify to those views - steaks were tops!

What we experienced there was the experience of our lifetime, never to be forgotten, and we still go there anytime we are around the area.

Kind regards,
Mr and Mrs Ndlovu

Just spent a night at the hotel for a friends wedding. What a fantastic Wedding venue. The chapel is absolutely stunning. The food at the reception was really tasty and plentiful. There were however far to many waitresses and far to little service, as they seemed to enjoy chatting more than working. The rooms are basic but newly renovated and good for a nights stopover. Just one problem was that our room was only ready for us to check in at 2:20 and our wedding was at 3pm, and after a 5 hour drive we wanted to shower and freshen up which there was definately not time for. Infact they were still trying to make up the extra bed for my son while we were trying to get dressed. The breakfast in the morning was served in the "dungeon" which was a bit strange. The food however was great.

The Windmills Hotel is a brilliant place to stay while touring the midlands meander or for a quiet weekend away. The staff are awesome, the rooms simple, yet sufficient. There has been a a lot done to up grade the venue and we are told this is ongoing. The place really has improved since we were last there. The food is excellent. The lounge is comfortable and the bar inviting. This is an awesome veue for weddings and for conferences. Its not a corporate venue, but rather a relaxed and intimate venue. The rooms were clean and the bedding very comfortable. We really enjoyed the our stay and the interaction wih the staff.
