I recently spent a relaxing long weekend at Lecale cottages and really can not say enough positive things about my experience. On our arrival, my partner and I were delighted to find a large and comfortable living room complete with a real open fire which was lovely surprise. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped and would ideal for preparing a family meal. The bedrooms were very spacious and cosy and the bathroom facilities were really excellent. The family who run the cottages are fantastic and literally could not have been more helpful or accommodating. When we arrived they had left milk and chocolate biscuits in the fridge and it was thoughtful details like this that really made Lecale cottages stand out for me.
As well as spending loads of time just relaxing and taking in the amazing views and beautiful fresh air we made sure to get out and about in this fantastic part of the world. Rostrevor itself is a gorgeous little village right at the foot of the Mournes and on Carlingford Lough so it’s just idyllic and really handy for walking, horse-riding and mountain biking among other things. The villlage is also really close to Newry which is great for shopping, eating out, going to the cinema and going to bars. We really had a great time on our weekend in Rostrevor and could not recommend Lecale cottages highly enough.
