Stayed at the Caminetto for the week commencing the 21st March. Got the holiday at a reduced rate through Rocketski who, with their sister company Equity Ski, are the only 2 package companies in the UK that do this venue. What a bargain! The Hotel is rated as a 4 star and throughly deserves the rating. The breakfast was adequate with a choice of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, breads and scrambled eggs every day. The evening meals consisted of a Chefs starter (no choice) followed by a starter, main and sweet of your choice from 3 of each. The service was impeccable and very attentive and the food was all prepared and presented to a very high standard. There was an extensive wine list which ranged from around £10 for a decent house wine to considerably more.
The Hotel has a health spa with Saunas, Steam rooms and an 8 seater jacuzzi free to use for guests. All brilliant after a day on the well groomed and accessible slopes.
TIP: Take a bathrobe and flip flops which must be used or you will have to hire them at 5 Euros per day.
The ski lift is approx 300yards away from the hotel and we never saw a queue at any of the lifts throughout the area and neighbouring Madonna Di Campiglio, but is was late season to be fair.
This is not a resort for the lively ones amongst you. There is only 1 main bar in addition to the Hotel Bars. But if you, like us, want a Hotel that has good facilities and is close to the skiing then this is the place. It is definately aimed at the Italian trade and the menu tends to reflect that but as ive stated the food is excellent.
When booking i looked at other, slightly cheaper options in the same resort but the feedback from guests in those was nowhere near as good despite the cost only differing by £20/25. My advice...give the Caminetto a go, you wont regret it
