“True Chilean country life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

We spent one night here at Ciro's house, it was very nice and we felt very welcome. Meals were wonderful and we enjoyed the nice hot stove in the living room/kitchen area. Cochamo is really a small place and feels so remote, away from everything. The gravel road there was not so great but we made it (would not recommend it with a brand new car..) The ride (about 5 hours) was beautiful through the beginning of Valle de Cochamo, crossing farmland, honey farms, cattle farms..then we entered the mountain path, where temperatures dropped; it is a rather dark stoney path and I wondered how the horses could navigate through it! horses here generally do not have an easy life I can imagine, as they are mainly work animals. We met people with packhorses and sheep herds along the way. Then we reached a stoney river and had a break there, the nature and tranquility was so relaxing. Due to the stoney paths it was not possible to gallop with the horses.

It was a pleasure to host you last year, we strive to make everyone feel at home in this authentic and, as you rightly point out, very rural area!
