“A little paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

I stayed in Marks Resort in 2011 and absolutely loved it! The area is very relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. You can hire jet skis, go on a boat to a nearby island, see crocodiles or just enjoy the sun on the beach. The food is excellent and the people working there are very welcoming. I highly recommend this little paradise!

This venue is simply amazing for the following reasons:

The staff is so welcoming and make you feel comfortable and at ease
The room is spacious with A/C like a suite with sofa and plasma tv
I love the breakfast: fresh fruits & pastries
The price we paid was more than affordable and I would go back again a million times

This is a great place to stay and I strongly recommend it

Room Tip: All the rooms are great

I stayed at Maks Resort twice in the same year, and absolutely loved it. Service is excellent, and the food very tasty. Little heaven corner, where you can relax, go on a boat ride and just enjoy the scenary. I definitely recommend this resort, only 1h away from the madness of Accra...

I've been to this region a few times and normally stay at the Manet Paradise Resort, on my most recent endeavour this resort was however shut which presented me with a search on the next venue to satisfy my accomodation needs. I stumbled upon the Maks Resort which is situated just outside 'Ada Foah' and on the Volta River. This place was magnificent! It's very boutique and niche set in a peaceful and tranquil environment fuelled with elegance and atmosphere. It has a great garden, great sands, great bar / restaurant, stunning and cultural huts with all the rooms fully equipped with en suites. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were clean with tv's fridges, proper wash room, hot and cold, everything a hotel should have!! The food arrived promptly andf they catered to what i wanted despite it not being on the menu!! I would certainly stay here in the future and planning on bringing my mates and colleagues in February and April. I can't wait.

There wasnt a boat service available from here as cited in 'Sean_MichelleAccra's review which leads me to believe they were potentially at a different resort or fooled by a local boatsmen as the night rate was nowhere near 100 cedis a night.

All in all, marvellous resort which i didn't expect to stumble on in Ada! You won't be disappointed!

After reading previous reviews it sounded like the place is great. It is well situated but the accommodation at Ghana Cedi 100 per night is very disapointing. The furniture in the room is very old and the A/C did not work. The restaurant does not cater for western meals and what they served us was badly prepared. If it were not for the location and beautful scenary, we would of left and driven back to Accra. Furthermore we were asked to pay 60 Ghana Cedis for a boat trip and when we returned the price had changed to 120 Ghana Cedis. This because the trip had been longer than 1 hour, even though we had stopped and walked tot he beach front whcih took up the majority of the time. A total rip off for tourists!!!!!

I found this place to be amazing, the rooms are ensuite and built to an incredibly modern spec. Power showers, large screen tv, an abundant amount of channels, and the food and drink was very cheap, at least for a westerner. The view of the river is amazing, and the care put into maintaining the place really shows, bravo.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2008

We decided to take a few days off from our trip and relax in the Ada Foah area. We really lucked out when we came across Maks Guest House along the Volta River (there is a Maks Guest House in town, but it is older and the location is not as pretty. I believe the one we were staying at was the annex). The river is beautful and the owner of the guest house had really built up the river front part of her property to make it very inviting. We spent many hours there relaxing and eating.

The rooms were good, but the water front was the real attraction.

We ate most meals at the hotel and were never disappointed eventhough the menu was a bit limited compared to some of the other hotels in the area.
