“An oasis in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Stay here when in Marrakech. Just 30 minutes away it is easy to go to Marrakech for a day.At the Kasbah, you are greeted and looked after with real care not just by Paul but his staff who are all local Berbers.

The Kasbah's traditional architecture is calm and inviting. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and overlooked by the Atlas,it is a perfect getaway for people of all ages. All our walks were well planned and we had excellent guides who not only looked after us well but were able to share many interesting stories about the local culture and traditions. We were also able to tailor the walks to suit our ability.

Food was prepared using local ingredients. It was simple, fresh and tasty. We ended our time on a high not just as a result of the warmth of the sun but of the people for whom the comfort of their guest was paramount.A memorable trip. Shukran,Kasbah Angour.

My husband and I arrived for 3 nights here after a hectic week touring Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and the desert. The hotel, the views, the gardens and the pool are stunning - you can see this has been a real labour of love by the owner who built the whole property. The bedrooms are beautiful (and at this time of year when the nights are cold, the underfloor heating was perfect) and all are designed to take full advantage of the stunning views. It is so quiet and relaxing, you can't fail to relax and kick back....but we did make use of the fabulous guide and went for a long trek to take in some of the hills and valleys. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. There's still a few tweaks to be made - no robes in the bedrooms (to come though!), bottled water and glasses would also have been a nice addition (you have to pay for your water). Food was delicious and the small dining room a delight with the log fire roaring at night. Get to this hotel before it gets too busy - it's a real gem!

We had only a short stay at this fantastic hotel but the memory of the beauty of the surroundings and the attention to our comfort will linger on. The Kasbah has been built using local stone and wood and is a joy to the eye. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was excellent, and we had a lovely paved area outside with table and chairs where we sat gazing at the phenomenal panoramic view. The gardens are beautifully kept and we saw chef collecting his vegetables and herbs in readiness for meals. Paul the owner was very helpful and arranged a wonderful car trip to the mountains and Berber villages with Hussein. The food was excellent and the staff charming and helpful. The hotel has a large swimming pool, attractive sitting rooms for guests, a licensed bar and wifi. Thoroughly recommended.

Just returned from Morocco - spent 4 nights in Kasbah Angour. Staff extremely attentive and helpful. Room beautifully appointed with space and comfort. Moroccan styling and private terrace with view over gardens to the snow covered Atlas Mountains. Breakfast in sunshine on South Terrace and Dinner by the log fire in the bar - lovely. As a vegetarian found the main course of the main meal was not up to the high standard of the rest of the food.

Room Tip: As far as we could see every room is good.

We were here for only 2 days, hotel was very quiet but after the madness of Marrakech was heaven.

Rooms : very clean and spacious with unbelievable views. The pictures on the net do not do the place justice. Paul arranged transfer by taxi from Marrakech and to Essaouira with a local taxi driver Issam who was great. Pool was too cold to swim in February, but is stunning. Must be wonderful in the warmer weather.

Staff : wonderful service from Badr and Mustafa, Paul was also very helpful. He hooked us up with Abdul-Karrim and Lahoucine for the 20km Foudrar hike, which took 8 hours. We did a hike in the Barranca del Cobre last year and this one was even better. The hike, views and guides were great.

Food : breakfast was good, great pancakes, fruit coffee etc. We ate from the lunch menu once and had the beans, lentils and salad which were all quite good. Wine and beer was reasonably priced as well. The evening meals were not up to scratch for the price....I feel they would do well to offer some of the lunch items in the evening perhaps.

This was a small issue and does not detract from the overall experience. I noted with humour the one reviewer who complained about the TV ; why would you want to look at a TV when you look out your window at the Atlas Mts. Will be back, hoping to do the Toubkal climb in the future.

We were debating whether or not to come here, but after witnessing the hustle-and-bustle of Marrakech we thought a trip to the mountains would be a good idea. Very glad we went. The view and scenery were relaxing and the rooms were of a high standard. Food was exceptional too. An enjoyable experience.
