“2nd visit to les touches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

The new owners Sue and Jerry are continuing the excellent traditions that can guests can expect from Les Touches. The concept of more interaction between host and guest suits us perfectly and we couldn't reccomend the place highly enough - if youre going to Normandy or the Manche - you will not find a better B&B for any category, it is as simple as that.

John and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to France and one of the highlights was definately Les Touches. Sue and Jerry are the exemplary hosts and the facility is without flaws. We had a loft room, cosy and charming but it was the meals, both breakfast and two wonderful evening meals which Sue prepared that could hold their own with any of the highly vaunted Paris restaurants we had enjoyed the previous week. The location is great for exploring this most charming area and we will definately be back.

Once again we stayed at Les Touches, this time for 3 nights and 3 evening meals. We enjoyed meeting Sue and Jerry our new Host's and once again the friendly atmosphere and good food and wine worked its magic and we did thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very nice area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Garden Room which is a good size an has access to the garden and patio area.

Spent 3 nights at Les Touches in Septmber. Sue and Gerry were very welcoming and made our stay most enjoyable. We stayed in the Garden room which was comfortable and spacious. The log burner was lovely to come back to on a cool evening. Surroundings were perfect, great to sit out in the peace and quiet in warmer weather.

Great accommodation in lovely rural location. Guest accommodation is in a wing of a lovely old farmhouse. Our room, The Loft, was comfortable, spacious, and nicely furnished. For our mid Sept. holiday the heating was on to be cosy on cooler mornings and evenings. There is a guest lounge with cosy sofas and a log burner, which was lit for us, again, on cooler evenings. Great to relax with coffee and liquers after a super evening meal. Outside there are a couple of patio areas where we could sit and enjoy the late afternoon or early evening sun with a good book and a glass of wine! The new proprieters, Sue and Gerry, in their first week when we arrived, were great hosts. The substantial breakfasts and evening meals were social occasions to chat and share our "french experiences" with Sue, Gerry and other guests. Can recommend unreservedly.

Room Tip: Check out pictures on the web. First impressions count - if it doesn't look very "generous...

This trip was an introduction to France for my youngest son Spencer so that he could sample all things French for himself and we decided to use B&B's in scenic, rural locations and work our way slowly through Le Manche. John and Sharon's "Les Touches" is a place that we ARE recommending to any family or friends who are thinking of staying in Normandy. In fact at the end of our travels we realised we could have stayed (and SHOULD'VE) stayed there and used it as a base.
We could not have been made to feel more welcome, nor enjoyed better host company, nor enjoyed better food, drink and accommodation at any other B&B we stayed at for the whole of our trip. Sharon's dinner was as good a meal as I have eaten anywhere - including most of the famous "named" restaurants in London - Sharon is very self-effacing and calls herself the "runt of a culinary family litter" - nonsense!! All 4 courses were superb, but that dessert still makes my mouth water!! (I wish I had written down the recipe at the time it was offered- but I was entirely distracted by the food!).
Sitting in the big kitchen and chatting whilst it was being prepared, cooked and served was a delightful experience which we didn't experience anywhere else during our holiday. After dinner Spencer was taken upstairs to meet their children and he and John watched one of the euro championship football matches on their big screen whilst Jan and I were introduced to to some delicious home made liquers by Sharon in the shared lounge - how's that for hospitality!
This IS a genuine 5 star B&B and we will return here again because of all the above but also because the immediate surrounding area is lovely with Fougeres holding so many medieval charms and Mont St Michel being a mere half hour away. See "Les Touches" for yourself - you won't be disappointed!

We made our 2nd visit on 23rd March 2012 with our friends and celebrated their 50 th Wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by Sharon and John and made very welcome.
We had the Garden Room and David and Anne had the Dovecott both very nice. The evening meals were excelent and it was great to relax and chat like old friends as we enjoyed our 5 courses. We finished our evenings in our lounge in front of the lovely log fire with Calvados and Coffee. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to visit again in the Autumn. David Finch

Room Tip: All 3 rooms all very good, The Garden room is ground level, location is very quiet
