“Basic campsite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for 4 nites. 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We paid €144 for tent with electricity which is a bit pricey. The campsite was very empty.i walked around the campsite and there wasnt a paper to be seen. There was rubbish bins everywhere. Toilets were basic and old but again they were clean. Shop on site was very handy and wasnt overpriced. The owners were very friendly towards us. If you do stay in a mobile id recommend the new santana type. They are about 2 years old.

stayed in fitzmaurice's last friday and saturday night camping with my daughter, i couldn't belive how clean the whole site was, toilets and showers were spotless with plenty hot water , the room with washing machines and dryers was spotless. There are plenty of bins around the site and also taps which was great for camping .we pitched our tent by the toilets at the back of the site so it was great in the middle of the night.it was very quite by night even though there was a good few tents .I was so happy to be camping in fitzmaurice's and im looking forward to going again i read the previous reviews before i went but taught i'd see for myself i saw nothing like they did.i can honestly say this is a very well run site and very nice friendly people.working there.

OH MY GOD !! i have just read through the previous reviews and can not belive that some people can be so unkind..ok perhaps some people had a bad holliday but jaysus..move on will ya !!
we have just returned from a lovley weekend in tramore and stayed @ fitzmaurices. i can honestly say i saw none of the above mentioned problems though they were mostly a few years ago according to this site. the site was very clean and well organised. we stayed in a tent and all the other campers i spoke with were also delighted with the place.the shop was well stocked with the basics for a camping holliday and with reasonably priced toys to stave away the bordom of the kids. the family themselves were warm and welcoming and in all honestly ..they were dead sound..it was reasonably priced in my opinion and we were able to head off for the day knowing our vehicle was safe and secure. i have camped on sites all over europe and most campsites are the same and offer the same. at the end of the day we want somewhere safe to sleep off the roadside and at less than thirty yoyos a night this place has it all.
i am saddened by some of the previous comments and reviews and understand we are all entitled to have our say but really....sometimes its better to just say nothing..any one else reading through these reviews can have their say too..just dont let other peoples misery spoil your stay in tramore..if your not happy with a camp site you can always move on in the morning . its what camping is all about..if you happen to book a caravan and your not happy then you need to sort it out straight away, no good moaning on about it later..i would recomend fitzmaurices any day of the week to my friends and i am sure they would all be happy with what they get for their euros.
one final bit of advice for fellow campers..if you think after reading all these reviews on this site is going to help you choose a perfect destination for a stay, your probably going to spend your holliday comparing notes of what he or she said..hollidays are what you make them folks..dont be worrying about other peoples..j j

We stayed in this camping for one night, at the beginning of our holidays. After 2 weekes of camping in all ireland and North Ireland we can definetely state that this was the most expensive camping that we stayed (28 euros one small tent and 2 persons with a national average of about 20 euros! Considering that the use of hot showers is not free it's not so convenient!). If you don't require electricity there is very little available places where you can place your tent. Toilets are mediocre.

We booked the cheapest caravan for our summer holiday. The caravan wasn't new and had improvement potential but for the money we paid, it was certainly acceptable. We stayed for a week and it was pouring rain every single day. The weather spoiled our time quite a bit as we couldn't enjoy the beach or Funfair. We did get a few dry hours though and made the most of them. Because our Caravan wasn't new there was a leak issue with the shower. Alec who does all the DYI relocated us to a different Caravan which clearly was in a higher price bracket. We weren't charged more so perfect for us. We're planning to return next year but only if the weather is a bit dryer which can be a challenge in Ireland. The caravan place itself is lovely and central, close to SuperValue, Tesco, Lidl for shopping, close to the beach, Casinos, Funfair, Restaurants etc.

Room Tip: Take the higher priced Caravan. Worth it.

We went to tramore for the weekend as it would be the last weekend before school started back.we have a caravan.we first went to Newtown Cove and arrived at approx 8pm.i play music with a band an drive a opel vivaro van.i always tow caravan with the family car but because i had to work on the sat night i decided to tow with my van and was going to return home sat evening and come back in the morning and my wife and 2 kids travelled in the car.when we arrived at newtown cove we were told i could not have my van on site and that the car & caravan could stay.i asked where i could park and explained it was full of musical equiptment but was told it was there policy no commercials on site. What a load of rubbish i said and we had to go to fitzmaurices.i had to pay €4 extra for my van even though the park was not even half full and €4 euro for 6amp electricity.€38 in total, what a rip off.every time i turned on the kettle, heater,or toaster the power tripped.i gave more time putting up the trip switch than anything else.i was looking forward to a nice shower but when i went into the shower and toilet block it was like something from the dark ages.needless to say i did'nt have a shower or use the toilets there.the following morning we just packed up and went home.i also enquired about atlantic view caravan park and they dont take in caravans unless you pitch for the season.so where do you go in tramore because these 3 sites are no good !!!!!
