We were staying at palazzo Catalai in soriano and asked the staff to recommend a restaurant for a special evening meal.
It was about 10-15 minute drive right up into the forest and the manager of the hotel arranged for a friend of his to take us in their car !
The staff speak very little English, but with the aid of my trusty phrase book I was able to ask them what they recomenned.
We were not dissapointed, to start i had a tower of roasted aubergine, ricotta cheese, tomato, and my husband had a salad of wild boar
Mains were even better with a long cooked veal on a bed of mushroom polenta and a roasted shank of boar with local vegetables,
The local wine was beautiful at only 6 euros a litre
A must go to destination.
