The ambience is of a snug country pub which is warm and inviting. There is a very varied menu and some meal deals - the "early bird" menu lasting from 12 noon until 6.00/6.30 p.m. which offers pricing for two or for three courses. Vegetarians and children are not forgotten - but both steaks and seafood are very good with excellent ingredients used; well presented and good saucing. One of us had the ham hock terrine to start with, the other mussels in a garlic cream sauce. We both had the duo of pork and did also succumb to a dessert. We have been here before - late afternoon - and simply had steak and chips on what for us was a lazy Saturday! The staff are friendly and service is efficient. Nothing seems too much trouble for them.
