“Small gem away from the tourist areas.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Interesting house with excellent audio guide and beautiful gardens where you can have a relaxed drink or full lunch with fine food and good service.
One section of the garden is set aside as a play area for kids so you can eat in peace.
Entrance fee was expensive (10 euros for seniors) but no dearer than a National Trust property at home, although our tour operator gave us a free entry voucher.
We used a taxi from The Corinthia Palace (9 euros) but there is a bus (2.60 for a day ticket).
Not much to see in the town but well worth the trip for the gardens alone.

“Beautiful house and gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Not large but very nicely restored. The audio guide was easy to listen to and was quick and snappy. The Yorkshire accent probably helped, being also from God's own county. It was also a change from the usual don't do this and that at every turn. Therefore you could take photos but general respect meant you didn't touch or sit on the chairs. There were occasional reminders not to sit on the furniture just in case you forgot! There must have been a wedding recently and what a fantastic venue especially having the disco in the cellar. A bit pricy to get in but a lovely morning outing.

“Peaceful gardens & beautiful house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

It was 12 Euros and you could only spend a couple of hours here, so not the best value attraction, but the house is beautiful while not huge. It's the gardens that really make it though, again, they aren't huge, but they are really lovely and pretty and it was so peaceful just to sit in the shade with the backdrop of the house and gardens and have a drink in the cafe. Certainly more impressive than Casa Rocca Piccola in Valetta. You get an audio guide, and the gardens have amazing borgnvillia in different colours, hybiscus, citrus fruits etc. You can watch the little lizzards dart up the trees and across the paths. Just lovely :)

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

Had a very relaxing breakfast, peaceful and tranquil environment. Prices on the high side, but the atmosphere was well worth it; very fresh pastries.

“Big expectations for the entry price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

I have a wide interest in history , stately homes & lots more. I was expecting a lot more for my money . On arrival the cost was12 euro each. More than twice St. John's co Cathedral & museum. And dearer than Grandmasters Palace both in Valletta . The receptionist was nice but pointed that quite a lot of audio guides were broken. We had to wait while she sorted the problem and eventually gave us one audio guide between us..I was not given a map to follow and had to go back for one when handed back. This was not busy ( maybe others thought it rather expensive).
Some rooms were very nice and what I could hear was informative. There was a staff member wheeling tables across the snooker room in to the ballroom . He was talking loudly on his mobile & had No consideration for Paying tourists..he went back & forth all the while on his mobile.. When you look closely som of the drapes & curtains were tired / damaged.
When we went to the gardens , although small and quaint again there was loud music as staff were getting set up for a wedding. Staff & owners should have more consideration for tourists, Also if the price was a Lot more affordable more people would visit and show better appreciation. I take hours going around historic buildings. We were around ,used toilet & out within 45 minutes. Also today , mon 16 sept the cafe was closed.
