We returned recently from Breezes Jibacoa, March 23 - 30. Our experience here was great!
We received a very warm welcome from the front desk staff upon our arrival. We were very impressed with all the staff from the bar, buffet, restaurants. cleaning, gardening and security. The entertainment staff were outstanding also. We were constantly greeted by cheerful smiling faces during our stay here. The staff enjoy what they do and do their best to make you feel welcome. On many occasions we would provide tips but never felt that it was expected.
The location of the hotel is secluded, quiet, and peaceful.
Can't say we found any negatives with the hotel itself. It's clean and is kept in pristine condition. The gardens and surrounding vegetation is well taken care of. Our room was spotless. Stunning pool, very clean. The hotel is dated however, this did not detract from our overall rating of this property.
You often hear complaints about food in Cuban hotels but not here. The food was very tasteful and plenty of it. Don't worry you won't go hungry. The buffet and restaurants provided great food and the service was excellent also.
We couldn't have asked for a better room, ocean front. Open the sliding door and there was the ocean about 100 yards away. King-size bed and a mini fridge!
Windy the first part of the week but that didn't stop us from enjoying anything at the resort.
Beach is nice. A little rocky in spots. Snorkeling is great. Lots of interesting fish.
We took a day trip to Havana and it was fantastic. We recommend Jorge. You can contact him at [---]. We suggest you wear running shoes as there is lots of walking through the old and newer parts and also take along a bottle of water. Fantastic architecture, beautiful people, plenty of places to eat and drink and yes old cars. The guys were in their glory! Remember when .........
The hotel offers daily hikes at no charge and you go to an area where you look down on the resort where the view is outstanding. On your way back from the viewing area you pass through a local farm and this is an education all in itself. You visit with the family and will be given a tour of their home. The walking tour takes about 1 and half hours.
The Cuban beer is Crystal and it's great. You can buy it here in Ontario at the liquor store.
We were advised to take insulated mugs and I do recommend this ( less garbage ) as the drinks are provided in small plastic cups. Some people go overboard with these big massive bubba mugs.
The entertainment is most often local which is typical for a Cuban all-inclusive resort. They do their best and have lots of energy.
Found cigars a little cheaper at the duty free in Varadero airport.

Great hotel to kick back and relax or enjoy the activities they provide.

We recommend this resort to others and we hope to return in the near future.

Just got back from Breezes Jibacoa. I'm not going to write alot. Most people get it right. Just wanted to say that it was the best holiday my husband and I have ever taken. Not one negative thing to say about this wonderful resort. Many people return, and this is something I could never understand because there are so many other places to see. I understand why with this place. They make it feel like home. You fall in love the moment you get there.
Any questions please write and ask. Adios! By the way, it is a perfect place for four of you to go to. We went with our best friends and it was wonderful. Adios, again.

Well I travelled from March 22 to March 29 with a very large group of 60 people and what an experience it was. I had a beach view room with an amazing view everyday and it was very clean. The beach was breath taking and because it is so big you always had your own space. The pool is also fantastic very large and lots of chairs. I like to be busy on my vacation and I could always find something to do, but there are also lots of people just sitting quietly reading or tanning so there is the best of both worlds.
The food is good with a wide selection but there is not a lot of taste with the exeption of the breads (awesome) and anything with chocolate for the desserts. Nelson makes a great omelet in the morning and freshly made paste & sauce for lunch is also very good. You will definately not starve. The Italian restaurant was exceptionally good all the food seem to have lots of taste and flavours..it's a must try!!
The pool bar definitely makes the best drinks at the resort and it is well worth the walk from the beach to get them.
The staff is great very friendly and fun, an Hole and a Garcias go a long way. If you are thinking of things to bring for the staff as gifts all personal items such as: razors, panty hose, tampons, deodorant, tooth brushes & paste, toilet paper, kleenex, lip sticks, make up, perfume samples, toys, puzzle books, spanish books, gum, peanut butter & crackers, candies, chocolate bars, any thing you can think of that you use on a regular basis they appreciate they don't expect it but they are thankful. Zip lock bags are a great thing to fill with things and leave for them. Remember to there are staff memebers like the kitchen staff, entertainment staff and grounds crew that do not get tips or gitfs if you would like to give them gifts you can put different things in the large zip lock bags and give it to one and ask them to share it. Again not expected but it does make you feel good to give back.
The trips off the resort are very interesting and certainly made me appreciate how fortunate we are in Canada. I did the Havana trip and learned a great deal about the Cuban way of life and their history...well worth it. Take a roll of toilet paper with you when you travel off the resort. It is almost overwhelming when you are off the resort to see the poverty but if you are thinking of giving to people take extra CUP's for the ones who want you to take their picture, you will come across school children and they love to get bubble gum, silly pencils, note books, sandles, toys...etc..all things you can get at the dollar store. Again the little zip lock bags are very handy to put things in to hand out or just to carry them around in. This is a great way to give your tour guide and bus driver a gift also if you choose. Again it is not expected but very appreciated.
There were 60 of us on this trip and I didn't hear one complaint about the resort, the staff, or the accomidations...that says a lot I think. We took a vote and have decided we would love to come back to this resort next year...because it can and did accomodate all of our needs the entire stay. Enjoy your stay and your Cuban experience! You will come home with a greater appreciation of our every day way of life and how the little things are a great part of that!!!

We just returned from Breezes Jibacoa and had a great time. This my second visit and I will be back again. The food is great and staff is mosty friendly but you have to remember they work long days for little money so not all are happy all the time. The a la carte resturants are exceptional. They both have the best soups I have ever tasted. There is always lots of food at the buffet and it is a huge dining area. The hike up the mountain with Michel is a blast and if anyone thinks of it bring him a rubber snake as he is a bit of a jokster and his fake tarantula is getting old.

Just getting round to writing this review, we stayed at the SuperClubs Breezes Jibacoa for 7 nights back in Oct 2005 and had a great holiday.

The resort sits beside two large green hills and has a lovely beach (very stoney under foot).

The resort is clean and modern and the food was above average for an all inclusive. Seafood on thursdays was excellent with eat all you want lobster!!

The entertainment was OK, a bit repetative after a while, but good fun all the same. resort has a good size pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts and water sport facilities.

All inclusive drinks were very good but lacking the fresh fruit element you would get in some other caribean resorts.

Excellent cigar shop on site, much cheaper than you will find in Havana or even the Duty free.

Transfer from the airport is around 45 mins to 1 hour in which you get to see a good bit of Havana life as you transit through.

All in all a great resort and if i was to stay in cuba again would definately book here again.

  • Liked — Couples only resort, No screaming children
  • Disliked — Distance from Havana city centre
