We returned recently from Breezes Jibacoa, March 23 - 30. Our experience here was great!
We received a very warm welcome from the front desk staff upon our arrival. We were very impressed with all the staff from the bar, buffet, restaurants. cleaning, gardening and security. The entertainment staff were outstanding also. We were constantly greeted by cheerful smiling faces during our stay here. The staff enjoy what they do and do their best to make you feel welcome. On many occasions we would provide tips but never felt that it was expected.
The location of the hotel is secluded, quiet, and peaceful.
Can't say we found any negatives with the hotel itself. It's clean and is kept in pristine condition. The gardens and surrounding vegetation is well taken care of. Our room was spotless. Stunning pool, very clean. The hotel is dated however, this did not detract from our overall rating of this property.
You often hear complaints about food in Cuban hotels but not here. The food was very tasteful and plenty of it. Don't worry you won't go hungry. The buffet and restaurants provided great food and the service was excellent also.
We couldn't have asked for a better room, ocean front. Open the sliding door and there was the ocean about 100 yards away. King-size bed and a mini fridge!
Windy the first part of the week but that didn't stop us from enjoying anything at the resort.
Beach is nice. A little rocky in spots. Snorkeling is great. Lots of interesting fish.
We took a day trip to Havana and it was fantastic. We recommend Jorge. You can contact him at [---]. We suggest you wear running shoes as there is lots of walking through the old and newer parts and also take along a bottle of water. Fantastic architecture, beautiful people, plenty of places to eat and drink and yes old cars. The guys were in their glory! Remember when .........
The hotel offers daily hikes at no charge and you go to an area where you look down on the resort where the view is outstanding. On your way back from the viewing area you pass through a local farm and this is an education all in itself. You visit with the family and will be given a tour of their home. The walking tour takes about 1 and half hours.
The Cuban beer is Crystal and it's great. You can buy it here in Ontario at the liquor store.
We were advised to take insulated mugs and I do recommend this ( less garbage ) as the drinks are provided in small plastic cups. Some people go overboard with these big massive bubba mugs.
The entertainment is most often local which is typical for a Cuban all-inclusive resort. They do their best and have lots of energy.
Found cigars a little cheaper at the duty free in Varadero airport.
Great hotel to kick back and relax or enjoy the activities they provide.
We recommend this resort to others and we hope to return in the near future.
