We went with trepidation (despite the good reviews) as we knew it was miles from anywhere & it was our first all inclusive ( dont really approve)
The resort is amongst the best run hotels in the world, despite being full we were always able to get an outside table for all meals, there were always plenty of sun loungers at the pool & beach, the games room was rarely full, often there were less than 5 of us diving. Clean cloth napkins at every meal, clean bedding & towels everyday if required, beach towels too - although most guests kept them longer I am pleased to say.
Diving equipment is not the best & new or nervous divers should avoid trips with more than 6 divers, 10 on the boat is like bedlam when getting kit on.
Huge bed, big room & fridge - beer & soft drinks available at shop.
Fantastic staff, brilliant English but happy to speak Spanish - 2 nights a week in the a la carte restaurantes is a nice touch for a change of scenery as is the snack service from 12 - 5 at the beach bar & continental breakfast in room if required.
Entertainment looked terrible to me but we could just ignore it & seemed to be enjoyed by the majority of guests. Really its a posh holiday camp but what i liked was that u could take it or leave it. Not true if u have a pool view room - luckily we had sea view - brilliant.
No kids was great, clientel were generally well dressed - sorry if this sounds snobby - but i dont want beachwear in bars & restaurants. Canadians seem to have thermos cups welded to their arms, we managed perfectly well without & enjoyed our cocktails in glasses outside the Lobby Bar ( 24 hours ).
Food was ok, very ok & with such a choice you should always find something good. Especially liked breakfast with eggs anyway u like too order, pasta & pizzas too order at lunch. White wine is dark gold & dreadful but you can get nicer stuff by going to lobby bar or probably just tell waiter that u dont like it -
What i really liked i guess was the freedom to pretty much eat what u wanted when u wanted which is what happens when u are not stuck miles from anywhere in an all inclusive resort !
I have the utmost admiration for staff & management at Breezes.
Tipping is not allowed but is laughably wide spread.
We did our own trip to Havana with overnight - a must do,Breezes could be anywhere sub tropical with a beach - Havana is very different & essential viewing.
Travel Collection clients beware of one stop flight on way out ,11 hours with Cubana is not funny & I would not do that again - however i am sure TC can arrange other carrier.
