overall experience was great, beautiful location if a bit isolated, some gripes as only to be expected, nothing is ever perfect, food could have been better, very repetetive and not always at its best, A La Carte was better, preffered the Italian to the Cuban. Did not go hungry, found plenty to satisfy, a few fly killers would not go amiss. beach bar was great as food is fresh cooked and keeps you away from the buffet and over indulging, drinks are on the small size, 7oz, take insulated cups, keeps drinks fresh and cool, we had stainless steel lined ones as we do not like the plastic taste, bars have good service fast enough to look after everyone, some staff a little offish, I believe this is due to the pressure they are under, perhaps more staff to assist would help, we all have bad days anyway. Its really hard trying to look after people with a constant smile. Entertainment was exactly that, they worked their socks off, we have all seen better but what they did fitted the occasion. Beach was great did plenty of snorkelling, you can go out about 100feet to the reef, its about chin height, there are some deep holes around, this is mainly where the fish are, the sea weed is sea grass so not all clammy round your legs Avoid Cubana airline, its the pits. Staff on the plane have a definite attitude problem, they seem to dare you to ask them for anything. We upgraded to a premium seat, thats all you get, nothing extra, this was very cheap though, £100 each way p.p. The plane hit a lamp post in Holguin, ground staffs fault, brought plane in on wrong markings, it took the wing tip off. It was 4am local time that they got us to an hotel, 10.30 we were on a coach to go 300miles, this took 13 hours, a nightmare, no meals or drinks provided, did stop on way though, arrived at Jibacoa at 11pm no meals available but some snacks had to queue up twice to get roomkeys. no rep to be seen, we had been told that we could have a room until our flight before checkout, not so, its 12 that you have to get out, they provided an apartment to change and shower, 30mins for everyone, this was not enough and no amount of cajoling could persaude them otherwise, also had to fight for a safety deposit as we did not want to carry cash and passports around, they need a bit of fine tuning and some lessons in customer care, there were quite a few people disappointed on their final day. Dont let this put you off, though I am putting a few points for information, we had a great time and would certainly return, a little wiser and try to arrange things a little earlier.

I would really give this a 3.75 but not a 4 (I'll explain later). First of all, I want to thank everyone who has contributed reviews in the past. They were very helpful in leading us to Breezes Jibacoa. Pretty well everything was accuate. I realize people have different tastes in what they're looking for but when you average out the comments, you have a very positive holiday experience.
The staff were great, location was beautiful (and isolated), beach was very nice and snokelling fantasitic. You've heard all this before so I won't repeat it. The one thing that I was dissappointed in was the food. Let me explain. We're not picky eaters by any means but the buffet was hit and miss. One night it was good, the next it was slim pickin's. Often the hot food was not hot, or if it was supposed to crispy (e.g. spring rolls, lightly battered fish) it was soggy and cool. This is not a selection issue but rather a preparation and presentation concern. Having said this, we didn't go hungry since we could always find something. Some nights it just took some experimenting. If this was a traditional dining room, I would have sent the meal back. The two a la carte restaurants were very good. The food was hot and freshly prepared. Thursday night was seafood and lobster night at the buffet and they really did a fantastic job. If only they could be more consistent with the rest of the week. It's for this reason I can't give Breezes Jibacoa a 4-star rating.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel. It's isolated, small, and quiet. If you're looking for nightlife, look elsewhere. Two things I would highly recommend if you are travelling to Cuba. The first is to bring small presents for people. These are genuinely appreciated by everyone. Examples are soap, shampoo, toothpaste/brushes, baseballs, lipstick, make up, razors, gum, candy, band aids, feminine hygiene products, etc. Use your imagination. We sought out people that would not normally receive these types of things from tourists (local folks, gardeners, security, etc.). Something that is greatly appeciated is school supplies. If you're feeling generous one day, rent a scooter and ask directions to the nearest village school. It's about five kilometres away and it is a real humbling experience. The staff were truly appeciative of our donations of pens, pencils, note books, erasers and baseballs. If you can help them out it will enrich your life and theirs.
The second thing I would recommend is insulated drink mugs. The Canadians seen to have mastered this but the Brits (fairly new, and a welcome addition, to the Cuba scene) seemed shocked at the small plastic drink glasses at the beach bar. The drinks in these glasses get warm before you get back to you chair and then start filling up with sand if there is any wind at all.
There were a lot of repeat visitors during our stay which certainly says something. Would we go back? Definitely, but it's a big world out there. There's lots of other great places to go as well.

We enjoyed a thirteen night holiday at this resort from 10th Sept o5.
The hotel itself lived up to our expectations but was slightly let down by the repetetive food. However, we could always find something to eat but missed the variety we have had in other carribbean resorts. I must point out though that I give top marks for cleanliness and none of us (party of 4) experienced any holiday tummy as on visits to the Dominican R. The staff were on the whole friendly and some exceptionally so - full marks to the beach bar staff and also the two lads in the piano bar. Hurricane Rita was an experience and although wet for a few days I can't really say it spoiled our holiday too much. So far so good......

Don't even consider flying Cubana Airways. We booked through Travel Collection a subsidiary of Kuoni who provided a good service both in handling the booking and at resort but we so wish we'd taken the 10night option which would have meant flying Virgin instead of the 13 nights flying Cubana.
Where do I start...we were delayed 2-3hours at Gatwick. The sound system didn't work throughout the plane for the entire flight and the staff were hardly seen and completely indifferent. We stopped over to let off some passengers and refuel in Holquin which took over an hour then had another hour flight to Havana. By the time we got to the resort we had, since leaving out Gatwick hotel, been travelling well over 20hours.
I must say the return flight was entirely different and only 7and a half hours although we were delayed leaving Havana a bit. the check-in staff at Havana try very hard to sell upgrades and we couldn't help wondering if the bad outward flight is a ploy. We didn't succumb and were actually glad as the plane wasn't too busy so there was lots of room to spread out.
I would return to Breezes Jiabacoa but probably not for a few years and definitely would not fly Cubana-be warned!

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to all you guys from Canada and the UK who wrote the terrific reviews that led us to choose this fabulous resort.
We have just returned (like 2hours ago!) from our two week holiday in SuperClub Breezes and had a great time. The resort is in our opinion one of the best maintained resort we have visited in the Caribbean. The gardens are kept in excellent condition despite some very heavy downpours.
The rooms are kept very clean and our maid Elizabeth was very appreciative of the gifts we took along (thanks to the advice from Trip advisors).
The beach is very natural and the snorkelling superb and the activities provided by the staff (volleyball, hockey, beach games, mini golf etc) are there if you want to join in, but if just relaxing on the many sun loungers is your preference then there is absolutely no pressure.
The pool is large and once again is used for many activities such as volleyball, diving and aqua- arobics but there is plenty of room for everyone to do just w
hat they want.
The bars- well where do we start. Our personal favourites were the pool bar and beach bar during the day and the air conditioned piano bar in the evenings.(a special mention to the bar staff in the piano bar who make excellent cocktails.) but all the staff were so friendly and helpful (and most appreciative of a small tip where appropriate).
Finally a word of thanks to the entertainment staff who persevered despite Hurricane Rita to provide some great fun during the day and evening and who helped make this years holiday a resounding success.

my partner and I stayed here after we were married in Canada. I had never been to an all inclusive and vowed never would I. Breezes Jibacoa was simply outstanding. The room was spotless. We were upgraded to an ocean view even as a same sex couple. The food, while bland at times, was above average. The staff was superb in helping us take a day trip to Havana to see behind the scenes. There is lots to do from the hike, scooter tours, tennis, scuba. It was relaxing, the beach is lovely. Cubans are so terribly freindly, bring LOTS of small gifts - they have so little and deserve so much. The price for rum and cigars at the hotel cannot be beat and it is easy just to purchase there. This resort is away from the crowds situated all alone unlike Varadero. We went to Varadero after a flight delay. We spent one night at Barcelo which was excellent as well. Though Varadero is crowded and resort upon resort. Breezes Jibacoa comes highly recommended.
