The Resort was very nice and clean, staff members were very friendly, food at the buffet restaurant was OK because we had fish most of the time and we just had a lot of fruits e.g. papayas, guavas, mangoes, pineapples, etc.

Italian Restaurant: Food was great , not to be missed.
Cuban restaurant: Food was not that great. Flies around, very hot !…. Not very impressed !!

Gratuities: people are usually content with USD $1. However, they would welcome any unused/used cosmetics e.g. lipsticks, perfumes, mascaras, moisturising cream, etc. Even for the waiters as they can give them to their wives. Next time, I would bring some used baseball caps/hats for the gardeners at the resort and maybe some sunglasses as well….

The beach next to our resort is great for snorkelling, take some bread/ buns/fries/bananas from the restaurant (although we are not supposed to) to feed the fish…. Make sure you buy one or two underwater cameras in Canada, they don’t seem to sell those at the resort ???

Excursions: we chose to go to Havana for a whole day and stayed there for the Tropicana night Show. The first time we saw a show outdoor…. quite hot but a different experience! Warning: please be prepared to get hassled (people begging for money and food) in the Flea Market in Havana!!!!

We also went to Varadero for half a day and the long white sandy beach there is absolutely beautiful with crystal clear water (just like the pool water), perfect for swimming. Mind you, the beautiful water is VERY salty though!

Other activities include hiking, canoeing, scuba-diving, scooter touring, etc. and we had lots of fun……

Shopping for souvenirs is better in the Flea market in Varadero, no hassles at all! If you have a specific brand name of Cigars that you want to get, maybe it’s a good idea to get those from a State-owned shop (prices are standardised anyway, mind you, price has gone up two weeks ago !!!) You can also get them at the airport but they might not have your choice though ??? Please save some US cash for the last minute shopping for souvenirs and T-shirts at the airport….

We will highly recommend this resort to our friends because of their good management. If we are going back to Cuba again (probably to Varadero), we will definitely choose the resort under the same management

I went down there with my wife and two sons came back on the third of July.We had a good time nothing really wrong with the resort except the food,it wasn't all bad but we did have better food at other resorts.We read the reviews before we left and decided to bring some items to give away,we brought lots of toys and toothpaste and makeup that we bought at a dollar store here in Canada.The Cubans really enjoyed the gifts, they need soap, toothpaste and other prsonal items,if you go down bring some old clothes or shoes to leave there with them. Our familly agreed for the money we paid it was a great deal and we would consider going back again at a later date.You must try the restaurant a la carte Martino's excellent but stay away from the ceasar salad.

The staff at this resort made our vacation from June 19 - 26th a very wonderful experience. We have been to other resorts in Mexico and the U.S.A but this was the best. If you or a family member have a mobility/disability problem you may want to consider Breezes Jibacoa. The complex is very wheelchair assessable and the room was large with a well equipped bathroom. We had a wonderful visit with May-Lynn who is one of the managers at the resort. She told us that they will be upgrading the handicap bathrooms in the near future. Great news!! If you go to this beautiful resort make sure you look for Manuel and the crew down at the snorkel shop, Roger at the beach grill and Joel at the buffet, they will go out of there way to make sure you are having a great time. Have a chat with Amaury the gardener who will tell you about some of the colorful plants and who also helps keep the grounds breathtaking. You will be just blessed if you have Mayret who will keep your room clean and cheerful with her towel bird displays. Lastly Fernando and his partner who fixed our air conditioning. It is the hard work of the friendly staff at Jibacoa who make your stay an awesome holiday. We plan be back next year for two weeks instead just one.

We loved this place and will return next year. The food, service and accomodations are excellent. The beach and pool are accesible most days depending on the weather. Entertainment on their stage was available every night. Side trips offered were interesting and educational. The "all-inclusive" was an eye-opener for me. The bars were open, some all night, and provided "free" drinks. What a ball!!
