AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!
This was our first time and we will definately go again. The staff was amazing. Thanks to Tony, Rita and Manuel. Since the resort is exactly between Varadero and Havana there really is no where to go at night, but the disco is great. The seclusion of the resort makes it really quiet. It is not on a strip of resorts which is great. Makes day trips to Varadero and Havana much more easy, cheap and not as long. The pool and games room were open 24hr which we liked a lot. Make sure you bring gifts for the staff, we found that gifts were more appreaciated than tips. Items such as makeup, lipstick (anything female hygiene), t-shirts, ballcaps, (any clothing really), kids' toys and candy. The maids get the most, so try to give people like the waiters, waitresses, enertainment staff and gardners things as well as they are often forgotten.

FOOD:
Lots of variety but nothing spectacular. Please make sure you don't get red beef like I did once. For sure go to the two restaurants. Martino's is the best, as it is a classy Italian restaurant. Be sure to try the Spanish white wine. Mmmmm! We liked the food at the beach bar and the breakfast at the buffet the most.

TOURS:
-Havana Tour with the Tropicana Show was absolutely amazing. Worth the 120USD.
-The giant Catamaran tour was also great. Like a party on the ocean with a stop on the most beautiful beach ever. Fresh lobster on the Catamaran worth the extra 10 bucks.
-Take a least one Scooter tour. We took the Sunset Tour and it is awesome.
-Do a day trip to Varadero. Try an get 4 people together and get a cab as it is pretty cheap, around $23/person. A tour guide is not really needed for this, but make sure you get the interest points from your tourguide before you go.

MUSTS:
-Snokelling the reef and feeding the fish bananas.
-Scuba Diving was unbelievable. I went twice and it was my first time doing it. Great Scuba instructors.
-Havana with the Tropicana Show.
-Canada vs Cuba Hockey on the beach
-Beach bar chicken, so good
-Market in Havana
-morning hike to the mountain top
-most of the night shows were funny and great

DON'T FORGET:
-Insect repellent,as we got a few bites
-Insulated Mugs

We were at this resort for one week last May, and loved it so much that we returned for two weeks this year! We talked our friends from Saskatchewan into coming along too.

Nobody was disappointed--what a wonderful two weeks. The staff, the food, the clean rooms, the gorgeous beach WITH reef for easy snorkelling all added up to a perfect holiday for all of us. Being halfway between Havana and Varadero is perfect for day trips!

We have been to Cuba 11 times now, seeing different parts of the country on our travels. If you haven't been, START HERE! Take gently used clothing, shoes, hats, T-shirts, children's clothing, books, shampoo, soap, shaving gear,lipstick,etc.etc. Give them to the people at the hotel that you "befriend"--they will be shared!

This resort has many repeat visitors--some as many as 6 and 7 times!. That should tell you that there is something special going on here!. During our stay this time, we were very proud of the Canadian contingent who had lots of fun, but always showed great respect for the Cuban people.

Just returned from Breezes Jibacoa. It certainly has a lot of plusses. The rooms are very good by Carribean standards, the staff are friendly - much friendlier than at the average resort in Spain..!
The food is not quite on par with Sandals resorts, but commendable for the Carribean. Breezes and Cuba in general is also a lot cheaper than to Sandals...!

Though the beach is long and sandy it's difficult to swim in due to the high number of rocks just below the surface close in-shore. You have to carefully try to wade around them or climb over them. So the resort not very good for sea swimming. Also, for some really odd reason the only pool is about 3 feet deep at the deepest point. Diving isn't permitted. When I asked about why it was so shallow they explained it was really only for "cooling-off"..... Most odd!

Also, the beach loungers are hard plastic without mattresses and quickly become very uncomfortable. The loungers around the pool are nice and soft, except.... you just get comfortable with eyes closed listening to the soft wind in the palms trees and the delightful birdsong....suddenly the "entertainment" starts, with fun and games in the pool, or dancing, or other nonsense with the amplification at a level that could probably be heard in Havana...! When I was there many people who were reading or dozing got up and left the pool area. It was really annoying, and completely unnecessary in such an otherwise delightful resort. The entertainment staff didn't seem to appreciate that I really don't want to travel thousands of miles to hear thumping Cuban music rammed down my ears in the morning /afternoon. My tip to Breezes management is: can the noise!

So saying, it's still a very good resort....

This was our 1st trip to Cuba and it won't be our last. Breezes Jibicoa was more than we ever expected. We plan to return Dec or Feb. The STAFF made us feel welcomed from day one and the service was unbelievable. Don't forget to slip a tip to the staff they work long hours for $15/Month. I can't imagine working from 6am to 11 pm for 50cents / day. Try to rember the cooks. We left $$ & small gifts for the cleaning lady & we'd return to a wonderful surprise daily. We left things such as make-up, nail polish & remover, toothpate & brushes, soap, shampoo, perfume, Shaving cream & razors, shoes, clothes, toys & candy as she had children. Everyone has ration cards for food & supplies for the month but it is not enough for the full month so TIPS & GIFTS are greatly appreciated. (We found out vitamin pills, Vit C and ibuprophen are greatly appreciated and hard to get)FOOD was Great and my husband is a fussy eater. The buffet always had a theme night and there was always something you'd enjoy to eat. DON"T look for prime rib roast or T-Bone steak they have beef but pretty tough (If you see the cows you'll know why??? ...Very Thin). We didn't starve. We both gained weight on our return. 7 pounds in one week.Always something to do in Cuba. Day Tours for a price (Catameran to Cayo Blanco was excellent) (Havana ...Rum & Cigar Tour was good but if your not history buff you may not enjoy.. I liked it but the husband didn't. He only enjoyed the cigar tour, that was very interesting to see, you won't belive what you see).Resort ACTIVITIES are plentiful & FREE.... Nightly Entertainment was amazing. Very talented staff, that knew how to interact with the audience and get the crowd going.... NEVER BORED. The moped Tours very cheap & was the highlight for us, met the locals. Brought gifts for the family & kids in the village. These people are wonderful opening there homes and sharing there way of life with us. Cuban people have to be the most FRIENDLY people I've ever met. Always felt safe and welcomed on & off the resort. From day tours to relaxing at the beach or poolside life was great for the 7 days. Hated to return to reality.5 Stars for SuperBreezes Jibicoa

This resort was exactly what I hoped it would be. It is the perfect choice when you what to go and have a relaxing and exciting vaction. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good, it just tasted different like it would anywhere else besides your own home. I would recommend this resort to anyone. I will never forget the experience I had there, and I hope to return there ASAP!!!!
