Well I promised myself that we would write a review as we always check out Trip Adviser before booking anything. SBJ (Superclub Breezes Jibacoa) is the third place we have been too - Costa Rica and Bahamas before and I must say it was up there with the best. It is situated in a perfect location, with a wide beach and calm water when it is not windy. There is only local camping nearby and another Italian resort next to it. Very quiet and adults only is great as well. The garden view room was huge, with a massive bathroom. All the facilites were great, importantly the bed was comfortable.

We went to this resort because of the diving was included. We had no problems in getting on the advanced dives for 8:30am. Visibiltiy was good, temp was a little cold - bring your own wet suit if you can as the resort ones are shorties and may not fit. Depth ranged from 27m to 15m. Lots of fish, lobster, puffer fish, barracutas etc. Lots of sponges, fans and gorganians. Not allot of soft coral and in the 3 dive areas we did, it was similar, but still excellent. Arturo and Adolfo were excellent in making sure we had safe dives. There was no issue in getting a dive in each day, but the resort was only approximately 50% full. For learners it was very booked up and the places filled quickly.

Snorkeling off the beach was also great - Easy to get to and plenty of fish up close, with tons of coral and pink anemones. As in other reviews, make sure you take a banana as the fish will eat right out of your hand.

The activities at the resort were also well organised. Took a scooter tour - worth every penny. 4 of us took a cab to Havana ($90 USD) rather than the tour. We thought this was better, as the driver spent all day with us, we asked lots of questions and got to see more of the city.
Well worth it - great city.

All in all it is an excellent resort - worth the small amount of extra money. Tipping is not essential, though everyone seems to do it. The dive instructors make $15USD a month for example. The level of service did not alter though whether you tipped every time, which was great.

Bought the tickets two weeks before departing and paid $1120 each - would go back in a heart beat.

If you are looking for a place to relax and be waited on this is the place for you. This is one resort that all inclusive means just that.
You can go to the resturants as many times as you like not like some where you can only go once. If you like scuba diving the reefs are great and you can dive as many times as the boat goes out. We had dolphins swimming with us when we were out on the catamaran, the snorkeling at the beach front is also great for the none divers. The staff cant do enough for you and there was no waiting at all even at the disco. The night time shows are well worth going to every night. I will say though the pool is a bit on the chilly side if you dont like the ocean. We met more people on this trip than we had met on all of our other trips together. They have lots to offer to keep you busy during the day as well as night. The resort is in the middle of no where so shopping will have to be done during trips off the resort. You wont have to look for a good time it will find you at this resort

After the first time I stayed at Breezes Jibicoa, I knew that it wasn't going to be the last. Not only did I feel like I had entered Paradise, the people welcomed my visit. There was a great variety of foods and great entertainment. The 5 bars were quite convienient, especially the 24 hour lobby bar. The people made my stay one that I will remember forever. They always had something on the go throughout the day that you could take part in. Many friends were made while I was there, which made my decision to return in the years to follow. I would highly recommend choosing Superclubs Breezes Jibicoa as a resort to visit!

My boyfriend and I visited Jibacoa the last week in October, it was both our first time to Cuba.. and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The whole week was amazing, and the weather we got was unbelievable. We had one rainy day out of the whole week, and the staff still made the day fun with all the activities they had planned.
Something I definitely recommend is the hike with Erick. If you don't go you're definitely missing out on an adventure, and a good taste of the real cuban life... OH and Ericks nice bum;) The food was good..
breakfast was definitely the best. I don't recommend eating the food in Havana if you get a chance to visit.. I got sick.. and if you can't take the smell of pollution for too long, Havana definitely isn't a good idea. Overall I had the best time of my life, and I'll be back on Valentines Day 2004. Can't wait.

ok, where do I start. First off my girlfriend and I were at Jibacoa mid Dec 03 and we had an amazing time. Hola to Eric, Alberto, Yankeil, Kenia, Jason, Rida and Mercedes (Jibacoa staff & Tennis pro's). Oh, and not to forget the man himself Maximo (Ent.Manager).

The Food: It's better than McDonalds, and if your wanting best food in the world, go to another planet. These cooks do their best and if you have an issue..just be nice and tell them, they are there to help you.
People! if you have kindness in your heart you will realize that they try and if you can help them perform there job better than they will really like that. Best advice on eating...go to the buffet early !!!.

The Resort will really have to improve on the TOURS to Havana. It is true you can get better deals and I was told the Resort is going to improve on them.

Staff: They give 110% and that's all you can ask of them. I say GET INVOLED !!!...you'd be surprised on how much you will learn if you talk to the staff (entertainment staff). Best advice on staff...talk to them and learn !!.

Things you should take: water bottle (empty). Ladies stuff (make-up, nilons)..they could use that. Crayons, coloring books and soaps.
pencils and paper. tampons & toothpaste. My point is this a dollar tip really means NOTHING. Bring items that are rare and that will do so much for them. Your not going to save the world when you on vacation, but helping someone who helps you is the way things should be.

Want to eat fresh coconut?....take the bike tour and ask the tour guide you want to try some fresh coconut. They will take you to an awesome place to have some coconut....and in this case, best to tip a dollar!!
;)

Activities: My girlfriend and I played tennis. Alberto, Kenia and the visiting Pro Jason were really cool. we had a blast and jason gave away free t-shirts has prizes...nice idea!!. Volleyball is a must also, Eric is a great showman. I simply say do it all (if you can)....your on vacation !!!

To sum this very long review up, Jibacoa is a place YOU must visit, it's the only Resort in Cuba with NO OTHER BUILDINGS AROUND IT. You are surrounded by a beautiful mountain. We have been to Jibacoa 3 times and we won't stop going. it's not about the weather or food, it's about the friends you make and the fun you will have.

I hope reading this has helped you decide that jibacoa is the place to go.

thanks Jeremy
