Where do I begin to describe this fabulous holiday?
My husband & I traveled for the first time to Cuba on above dates and picked Superbreezes Jibacoa, after reading other reviews.
We travelled from the UK and have been on many Caribbean holidays before, but Cuba was by far the best, due to the superb stay in Superbreezes.
We stayed in the block nearest the tennis courts on the second floor and though it was basic, it suited are needs perfectly!
The room was spotless, the maid service was excellent, we got our tea coffee sugar and milk whitener topped up every day.
We were there over Christmas and new year, and we had Santa on the beach with Christmas music on Crimbo day!, and had a wonderful turkey dinner that evening.
The whole complex is kept immaculately by many gardeners, who all greet you with a smile.
The main restaurant food was brilliant, and I'm a fussy eater!! Breakfast was always a favourite, with a load of fresh fruit topped up regularly.
Different theme nites during the week, in main restaurant, with the seafood nite serving the most outstanding lobster!
If you like ommelettes Nelson the chef will make you the quickest tastiest one you have ever had.
Tipping in the hotel is not allowed, but, we tipped the maid everyday, leaving a few pesos, and when we left we gave Nelson, and our friendly waiter Joel a good tip!!
The beach is amazing, powder white sand, and tourqouise blue water. Only thing I didnt like were the fish with the long snouts that swim up to you and nudge your legs! But then, I'm afraid of my own shadow!! My husband took bread rolls from the restaurant down to the beach and fed them.
Normally there are plenty of thatched umbrellas to lie under on the beach, and I would recommend this.
Take a large thermos mug with you for drinks. At the bar they serve drinks in small disposable vending machine cups, no good if your thirsty!!
We went on a guided tour of Havana, and it was well worth seeing, although the food was terrible on this trip and I ended up in bed with 'the scoots'!!
We ended up having to visit the in house doctor, for an examination and antibiotics which cost us around £80 sterling.
There are armed guards on the beach to prevent the local campsite people wandering onto the beach, but if this happens they are usually just moved on.
All in all, we had the best holiday we have ever had, and hope to return very very soon! Take a chance on this super place, you will want to go back time and time again!!
