“brilliant stay - great time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2010

My husband, myself and our 11yr old son have recently returned from 2 weeks all inclusive at the belvedere hotel. we were on the 2nd floor (luckily not on the 8th or 9th!) Our room was clean on arrival, and practical. we had plenty of fresh towels every day, and our room cleaned daily. Our bathroom window was a bit sticky and we needed some more pillows, but no sooner than we told reception it was sorted. We found the reception staff efficient and helpful. Our first choice rep Georgina was really helpful.
The hotel was always very clean, and the staff worked very hard, especially in the restaurant. The food was of a high standard, never running out and always hot.
We didnt need to keep paying out for things, - all inclusive meant there was a constant supply of cold soft and alcoholic drinks, popcorn, pizza, ice-cream and hot dogs, burgers etc.
Although it had multi-national guests,by joining in the daily activities such as darts, volleyball, archery, water aerobics, boules etc, you soon made freinds.
The entertainment team were also very hard working and were a great team. The bingo was in four different languages, but you soon got used to it. There were queues at peak times at the bar, but on the whole we were served quite quickly. Overall a brilliant time in a fab hotel!

Myself and 3 boys ages 13,11 and 8 had a wonderful stay at this hotel. the staff were very friendly and always smiling. Reception staff were also very helpful. The food was good, plenty of variety and my children always found something to eat, even if it was chips dipped into Nutella!! The spirits served at the bar are stronger than at home so beware...2 drinks is probably equivilent to 6 here at home. The rooms were a bit of a tight squeeze but were clean, towels changed and beds made daily.
The pool has a shallow end which then becomes very deep and then gets shallower again. also there are some steps in the middle of the pool which you would expect to lead to a shallow part of the poolb, however this is not the case, and drops to a very deep depth. So please CHECK out the pool before hand especially if you have children who are non-swimmers. If you do have non swimmers there is a shallower childrens pool by the mini club.

My 8 year old enjoyed the activities during the day however my older children weren't really catered for, but spent the majority of the time in the pool with the new friends they had made. There was a disco for the younger children at 8.30pm which lasted approx 30mins. you then had to wait for an hour before the other entertainment came on..and to be honest it wasn' t worth the hour wait. We spent our evenings round the pool bar chatting.

There are mixed nationalities at this hotel and unfortunately I found them rude sometimes..the french children did seem to have a problem with the british children.

The local beach in cala major is not worth the visit, nor the 90 steps you have to climb to get back to the hotel. Better to catch the free courtsey bus which runs every half hour from the hotel down to the lovely palma Nova Beach.

Overall this is a good 3 star hotel, for a relaxing holiday round the pool. there isn't much to do outside the hotel at night but to be honest after a full day with the kids and them burning off their excess energy in the pool, we were all ready for bed by 10pm!!

Great holiday at the Hotel Belvedere.Took advantage of the free bus service to Palma Nova..beautiful beaches there with safe bathing.Lovely little shops and plenty of places to eat.
Really recommend a trip tp Palma,,, The area around the Cathedral is breathtaking.Great little shops as well as all the larger Spanish ones.

Staff at the hotel very friendly and the entertainment group were really good with the kids. The food was really good with plenty of choice.
Make sure you understand how to operate the Air Conditioning because it was extremely hot at night...rooms comfortable tho pretty basic.
We enjoyed the whole week there and would definitely consider going again.

OK i'll do this in bullet points but before I do I will say that me and my fiance had a great time and would go back again.

Pros:
Nice hotel, clean, tidy, cool indoors, aircon in the bedrooms, huge pool, good food, decent night time entertainment, lots of different drinks to choose from alcaholic and soft, free coach into Palma Nova every half hour, good wi-fi.

Cons:
Very busy, lots of kids in high season, meal times can be a bit congested, not the friendliest staff, thin walls and noisey corridors, slighty too far to walk to the sea, not a lot going on in local area within walking distance, bad smell around the pool every so often.

The only real issues we had to be honest were some of the other guests. We found a lot of the Spanish, French, German and Italian guests to be very rude. We had people pushing in front of us in the coach queue and others would virually snach tonges out of our hands in the meal queue. I had one lady look at me in disgust when I held a door open for her!! The kids in the pool tended to get a bit over excited too. They were happy to jump in right next to others who were trying to relax while their parents watched without saying a word.

The rooms are opened with a swip card which also controls the power to the room. This means however that while you're not in the room you cant leave the aircon on or charge up a mobile. BUT a good tip that I managed to find with only two nights left was that you can use any credit card or similar in the power slot and it will work. this means you can leave this in while you go about your day leaving the aircon on ready for your return. Dont get caught tho cos the staff might not be very happy.

All in all it was a great week and if you get the free coach to Palma Nova there are some great beaches and nice shops to get any bits n bobs you need.

When we arrived at the hotel we had a lot of trouble getting up the cramped lifts to get to our room, it didn't move if it had too many people in. first day was fun beside the pool, there are some shaded areas and limited spots by the pool for a tan. Beside the pool there is masage parla (2 at a time, have to book in advanse, 30 euro for back massage) Hair braiding/Plaiting 20 euro. And there is a bar and a pizza place (2 pizza's for adults and 1 for child at one time) pool is amazing, hot tub like fecture at the top. Salt water and deep in some parts. childrens pool was small, but i surpose not many people went in it only adults with there little ones. hotel room was big, but i only shaired with one other person, i saw other rooms of the same size for 4 people (bunk bed and 2 single/double) which looked a bit cramped, if you have the french doors open for the balcony, coaches that come and go make a bit of noice. They said there was a 'beach' near by but it was down a load of steps and when you finally got there it was just a rocky implant. local shop was really close and had lots of english brands. There was also a shop down stairs which sold water floats and all sorts, along with a table tennis table and a gaming area (pool, interactive games). A coach comes to the hotel every 30 mins to take you to palma beach and drops you off and picks you up from the same place. Entertainment was poor, parrot show, snake show, but on the last night we were there the hotel staff produced a great show, as they did beside the pool with games and such like. Overall had a good stay and mad some lovely friends whilst there.

I used these reviews when I was booking my holiday so feel I should add my opinion. We travelled independently with Ryan Air and Bookingit.com....saved a fortune....taxi was only 25euro from airport.
Positives: The hotel is great with a nice big pool and sun terrace. Plenty of sunbeds, no need to get up at the crack of dawn.....we could go down at 9.15 and there would still be plenty of beds and plenty of room around the pool. Food in the restaurant was fine, always found something to eat, the snack bar and pizzeria around the pool were great. Well worth the all inclusive which includes drinks and ice cream up to 11pm.
Rooms a bit small, but wasn't a problem as how long do you spend in them. Air con was a godsend and room also had a haridryer. We were on the 5th floor with a pool view, which we requested, there are sea view rooms available but you'd need to be on the 8th or 9th floor. Waiting for lifts (3 small) could be a pain, but you got there in the end. Courtesy bus in to Palma Nova is a good idea (there's not much around outside the hotel) it only takes 10mins and runs every half hour.
Negatives: Lack of entertainment!! There is daytime entertainment but if you don't hear the staff walking around the pool telling you some activity is about to happen then you're out of luck, they need to announce it over a tannoy system.
As for evening entertainment it was almost non existant. We were there for 10 nights and there was a group singing one night.....a parrot show which lasted about 10mins and a snake show which consisted of 3 snakes being taken out of a box. Be careful.....the pics with the snake cost 10euro each and they dont even come in any sort of frame. Other than that the entertainment team put on 2 shows which were ok...ish and that was it. Bingo was in about 7 different languages and could only be described as painful!
So if you're looking for some R & R around the pool and not a lot else this hotel is great.....if you're looking to be entertained then I wouldnt go there. We had a great time, but wouldn't go back simply because of the lack of entertainment.

Have returned from a fantastic holiday at the Belvedere Hotel. On arrival we had to wait 1 hour to get into our room which wasn't a problem as lunch was being served.
Hotel room was fine for the 4 of us. Room was cleaned daily and fresh towels every couple of days. The hotel, pool area and pool bars were spotless. Food from the dining room was really good with a good variety. My 5 year old daughter is a fussy eater but there was always something that she liked. The food from the pool bars was excellent. Would recommend the pizza.
Day time entertainment was good fun with something for everyone. My 2 kids (ages 2 and 5) had a fantastic time at the kids club during the day and really enjoyed the kids disco at night. Entertainment staff were friendly and done a great job with the kids.
My husband and I treated ourselves to a massage at the pool. Well worth the 25 euros.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
In the evening stalls were set up around the pool area selling some clothes, jewellery etc.
We had such a great holiday I have already booked for July 2011.
