Myself and 3 friends dined at this restaurant on fri the 21st Dec! fantastic table by the window with beautiful views and a lovely open fire nearby.
The staff were very friendly and helpful (one of our party doesn't like seafood and they were VERY accomodating). we brought our own wine and beer with a small corkage fee, the staff kept our wine chilled and beers regular!
the food was great! we had a spicy fish broth, Mussels, salted squid and some breads! all fab and generous portions!
for mains we had an amazing thai fish curry, beautiful hake with a red wine jus (my favourite), a lovely traditional xmas dinner and a ribeye!! all the meals were well garnished but we couldnt help but add some of the pickled onion rings and garlic chips just to try - you have to get these!!
after the lovely meal we were stuffed but one of the waitresses reccommended a sticky toffee pudding so we had it and a cheese board to share.. again fab!
after the deserts because we were a late sitting we were welcomed to stay and have a few drinks so liquor coffees and cocktails (mijitos and baileys coffees went down a treat)
all in all our experience in the governor rocks couldnt be faulted! the atmosphere was great, service great and food exceptional! will most definatley be back again soon!!!
