Turned up at the very start of the season and after a 8 hour road trip on some of the worst roads I have ever been on. We arrived at the hotel tired and hot and were checked in quickly and efficiently. We had room 312 on the second floor with a sort of sea view. Unfortunately we had arrived during one of the two times of the day that electricity was "off" ( 9-12am and 4-6pm). Our room was about 37 degrees so we dumped the bags and headed for the bar till the a/c was on.
Hotel reception area is large and open and has a pastry shop in it.
The dining area/bar/terrace is mostly open and has a great view of the sea and the sunsets. Fantastic sundowner experience!
Room was large but we never really got it very cold. The bathroom was a permanent "hot house" due its partial glass roof. Bed has a mosquito net and the plugs are 2 pin but there was a 3 pin adaptor. The bedroom has wooden flors and lots of space and also has a great balcony. The bathroom was also large - 1/2 was a wet room with a great rainforest shower.
Only real complaint of the room was that once the a/c went off - the room heated up very quickly.
Pool area is nice and after the heat of the room - very refreshing.
The food was generally good and freshly prepared. As there was less that 20 folks there breakfast buffet was cancelled and we had to order off the menue. Evening meals were good. Prices for beer and wine were reasonable - wine $15 and up per bottle.
Hotel stands at the north end of the beach and is very quite. The local village is a 20/25 min walk from the hotel and is a pleasant walk - down the road in the shade whilst it was hot and back up the beach when it is cooler. You can get cold beer in the village at local prices!
Great place to chill and get away from it all - the whole place pretty much shuts down when it gets dark.
