“Ideal Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

The best thing about this camp site is the location. Right on the beach and if you like a "proper" tan, the naturist beach is only 120 mtrs along the beach.
Facilities are excellent and always clean. Bread is baked on site so always a fresh baguette. Swimming pools also good.
Only downside to us was the facilities are all in the central block which means a lot of walking to and from toilets etc. which, as you get older, is a bit of a pain. They could really do with more satellite blocks around the site.
We had a beach view pitch which was great for the views but the roads and pitch surfaces ion this are very poor and could do with some maintenance.
Would go again just for the beach and location.

We are pleased to see that you like Beach Garden's location as much as we do! We will take note of your suggestions about the facilities and pass them on to the management. We hope you will visit us again next year and discover our new spa!

Gave it a five star for the campsite it's self but it was let down by Eurocamp which will be mentioned later....
Pro's
You can use all three campsites in the group all in the same area in walking distance so you have two indoor pool complexes and three outdoor ones. At Beach Gardens our pools were great, lovely adults only length pool and separate indoor almost spa type area with power water jets etc., our five year old loved it, the slides weren't open at our site as they were being built but we used slides at the other site. The lifeguard was a bit of a jobs worth, no diving, no jumping, no fun really, we just waited until he disappeared and it was business as usual. Indoor pool was a perfect temperature. They weren't bothered about wearing speedo trunks and let men wear anything, so my husband was very relieved.
The restaurant was excellent, first class salads and moules frites. There was a shop and boulangerie on site as well as two small playparks, ping pong and big AstroTurf football and basketball pitch, all new. The beach was at the end of the park and was spot on for kids with lovely clean sand and shallow water, very safe.
Best of all was the lack of chavs, yobs and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding type people. All very civilised, polite types. Only snag was that my boy didn't have many playmates as everyone was German, French and Dutch.
Cons
I blame Eurocamp, not the campsite. We didn't get info on arrival, no idea there was a welcome meet, no info on kids clubs, found out later it was at the site next door which was a twenty minute trek from our caravan so we didn't bother. We were at the furthest end of the park, good ten minute walk to pools, bar, shop etc., in 38 degrees with a five year old that became a bore. If we had know we would have brought a scooter for him.
No AC in the caravan, come on, why would you not put that in as standard in that kind of heat???!!
We could hardly breathe one night it was so hot and that was only in early June. Make sure you get AC in the summer. Our kettle has huge chunks of calcium which came off in chunks when I made a cuppa but they changed it ok. Next was the sheets.....the laundered bed sheet had two massive yellow urine stains on it! Even the reps were horrified. Which brings me to the point of why don't the beds have matress protectors? How many kids must pee on the single and bunk beds?
No wifi in the caravan was a pain, yes we are on holiday but many of us have to access emails several times a day for work. This involved that trawl to the bar area every time and several times it wouldn't connect.
These troubles aside I still gave it 5 stars as overall the site was beautifully managed, lovely surroundings and there was an abundance of clean toilets and showers if you were camping ( although no soap in the toilets!). Yes, I would go back but with a scooter and an air conditioned caravan.
Do visit Carcassone.

Room Tip: Get air con in the caravan. Take a bike or scooter for the kids. Get a dongle if you want wifi.

Thank you for your feedback about the Beach Garden, it really pleased us, since we are working hard to make it more enjoyable !
However, we are really sorry that you had so much trouble with Eurocamp. We are indeed not responsible for their mobile homes, but we like to make sure that our guests spend the best holidays possible.
Also, please note that you can book directly with les Mediterranées on our website to enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of Beach Garden **** and avoid any inconvenience of a tour operator.

After a very long (12 hour) drive down from Calais, we arrived at the site.

The Eurocamp accommodation is across the road from the main site & it well kept. We stayed in a caravan which was clean & perfect for the two of us.

We spent the first night in the site's restaurant. The food was tasty & the staff pleasant. We then had a drink in the bar but as June is still low season it closes at 8pm.

The pool area is stunning & we were pleasantly surprised that there was a newly open indoor pool including an adult's only spa area. We did use this indoor pool quite often as the pool outside was very cold.

Le Beach Garden is the furthest site away from the town & in the heat it can feel like a bit of a trek so you may wish to rent a bike.

This site has direct access to the beach but we didn't really use it.

Tracy the Eurocamp Courier was lovely. She was very helpful & did all she could to ensure we had everything we needed. Tracy, if you do read this, you can change money in Cap D'Adge! There is literally nowhere in the area to change currency.

Marseillan Plage itself is nice for bars, restaurants & shopping but to be honest we preferred other towns in the area. If you can make sure you visit Cap D'Adge, Adge Town & Sete.

We have stayed in a number of campsites in France and this was probably one of the best. It is nicely laid out and laid back. The beach is safe, clean and easily accessed. The bar, restaurant shops, pool and other facilities were all well managed. We visited the two sister sites that have slides in the pools. To be honest it was quite nice to get back to our 'own' place which was a little less hectic. Pitches were not too crowded but they could do with a little more play space for kids on the side of the camp we stayed. The camp is split in two with all of the amenities on the beach side. We were on the other side which meant the evenings were nice and quiet as we were away from the bar. Would definitely consider going back again.

The only downside was the surrounding area being a little bland, you have have to drive a little to get to places of interest. Cycle paths in Marseillan Plage wree not great when we stayed until you get out on to the main roads, where they are then segregated.

Have only just signed up to TA, this review was for an Aug 2012 stay not Nov, but it only goes back so far.

Room Tip: Look out for the beach side lodges. They were too small for us but look out onto the sea.

Just had 11 days on site . Eurocamp accommodation very good as always - clean and well put together, as we always remember it from multiple previous bookings with Eurocamp. Good news at Beach Garden was location of their mobile homes - decent distance form the bar and noise ! Only a 5 minute walk anyway to the bar/shop/restaurant/pool complex. Restaurant good, reasonable value, try the mixed grill ! Shop only ok - 10 minute drive to HyperU better value. Pool good but no slides for younger kids. Beach is next to the site and excellent - be warned, nudist beach is about 150 metres away.

Great team of guys on site, well done Gaz and Ste, Tom and Niall. Helpful when needed although not much we wanted really, but always cheery when spotted cycling by.

All in all, good family site, young or old (22,20 & 13 with us) with lively Marseillan Plage 'strip' about 10 minute walk away.

Steve & Carol plus 3

Room Tip: Eurocamp sites are away from the noise and well placed as a result !

The camping & "own" units are on the beach side of the road, the trees provide good shade and the pitches good & plenty of grass & greenery. The caravans belonging to the holiday companies are on the other side of the road, have little shade and are cramped together and plenty of dust. So I think reviews will reflect which side of the road people stay.

The best thing about the site is the beach, which is excellent, 100% sand and very safe for kids.

The facilities around the site are good, although we didn't actually use them. The pool is very busy, be warned that shorts are not allowed, swimming trunks must be worn.

The Intermarche super market (with fuel) is easy to get to & provide anything you need cheaper than you can get on site.

Not really any negatives about the side. Probably the downsides are the very busy & dangerous road to get to the site & the immaturity of the 2nd phase of the site, which needs many more years to mature ideally better spacing.

Room Tip: Research where you will be located before you go & try & get some shade
