“Unique, but a little pricey...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

I found the price that we paid for our "rustic" room in the main lodge was a little overpriced seeing how we didn't have anything other than the bare necessities (as in a bathroom, beds..) There are no TV's and no phones in the rooms. That isn't really an issue seeing how they do mention that when the reservation was made, however I did feel that the price was a little much for what you get.

The best part of the trip was sitting out on the little balcony to our room. We could hear nothing but the horses. Totally peaceful and relaxing. No traffic, no anything. It was truly wonderful! The staff were great. There is a pub/restuarant on site which is nice for ranch style food.

The scenery is amazing!! If anything, you pay for the scenery and the fact that it's away from everything. Canmore is a short drive away, but far enough to get away from the hustle & bustle.

Room Tip: Remember that this is "rustic". There are no TV's or phones in the rooms. Plus is that...

“a little bit of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

The setting is stunning, the people are so friendly and so happy and the animals are very well kept and really beautiful. pictures cannot really do justice to the view, to the snow topped rockies, the rolling hills and the amazing surroundings, but I will treasure my photos from the day as a reminder of one of the happiest days I've ever had. if you get the chance to go here, then go. really.

“Extremely dissappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2012

We made a last minute reservation for the New Years weekend and asked twice for confirmation on the price as it seemed a bit pricy, but seeing as it is New years I guess we could live with it. New years eve they had a fondue which was ok. Nothing spectacular, only the price that we got when we checked out! Our final bil was $500 more than what the confirmation email said and when I asked for a breakdown the fondue cost $89 per person.

The "VIP" Moose cabin is overpriced, there is no word to explain how overpriced. the heating system sound like a jet engin every time it starts up and there were only 4 coffee mugs to have all our drinks in. We finally borrowed some wine glasses and plastic cups from the bar.

Spectacular setting, but please please please make sure you view the rooms before you check in an confirm all the prices. There booking system is a mess. I will not recommend this place or go back there ever again.

“I fell in Love!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2011

I visited thiis place and fell in love with the horses and dogs and Donkey! it's such a nice place and so welcoming that I decided to stay overnight. although the prices seemed steep at first, it was worth the food and waking up to see horses walk past my window! Gorgeous!

“Early October weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

Despite being born and raised in Calgary, my wife and I had never been to Rafter Six. We arrived on Friday evening and departed Sunday afternoon. The accomodations were basic, however very clean and certainly quiet and comforable in a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff was superb; attentive and very courteous. In fact, the owner spoke to us to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We ate three meals/day in the restaraunt and were not disappointed (perhaps the desserts at dinner could have been a little fresher). No telephones or television make for a peaceful getaway less than one hour from Calgary. Give Rafter Six a try and make sure to take a trail ride.
