“exactly what we wanted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We could have stayed with all the other tourists in Fussen or Oberammergau in Germany, but we wanted to be away from the crowds. Reutte was open and relaxing yet readily available to lakes and castles and scenic drives. It was a perfect location. It was Rick Steves' book that said to go to Reutte.
AND Landhaus Panorama was also exactly what we wanted. The view was absolutely amazing.
We had our own apartment with a kitchen. We stayed 4 nights. Hostess Gerda is charming and helpful. The beds were comfy. The shower was so relaxing.
Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein were an easy day trip north. Linderhof, Lake Plansee, and Oberammergau were another easy day trip to the northeast. We also headed south one day to just roam. Exactly what we wanted.

Room Tip: the view at the front is amazing with 2 old fortifications that are beautifully lit at night.

We found Gerda to be very friendly and the guesthouse to be very clean and homelike. We enjoyed being able to order bakery items for the mornings. We loved how close we were to Neuschwanstein, the Plansee, and hiking. Having a private balcony with a great view of the mountains was wonderful and a great place to spend the evenings. My only complaint is that if your neighbors are sitting on their balcony talking late into the night, you can hear them quite loudly in your bedroom. This disturbed our sleep one night.

We had a great stay at Landhaus Panorama; Gerda was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and our apartment was very clean. Beautiful view! The location was perfect; we loved the surrounding villages and were close to everyhting! I highly recommend this place!

We stayed like a familiy with 3 adults and 2 kids in Landhaus Panorama for about 2 weeks. It is very good when you`re inside: charming rooms like in real countryside house, sauna, bar, fresh bakery every morning, and, of course, nice hotelkeeper — Gerda.

So, I can say really a lot of good words about this hotel and so on, but as I`m writing a review I`d like to say about some disadvantages:

1) if you came to Reutte for skiing, it`s pretty far from the zeilbahn, it takes about 35 min by foot to get to the bottom of skiing area; bus goes every hour, but if you have Reutte card, it`s free for you

2) for any other places like a food shop, nearest restaurant it`s also about 15 min walking, so, if you`d like to have all activities nearby your hotel, it`s not for you. And it is for you if you prefer quite place

Can recommend, but remember about two points I`ve notice above.

P.S. Unfortunately Gerda does not accept credit cards, as for me it is not very nice :-)

The hotel is in an idyllic setting.

The owner, Gerda, is extremely helpful and friendly. There's a great children's play area next to the house.

It was hard to find the hotel (there's no road-side sign—you have to look out for the name on the building).

Breakfast was great (really nice bread).

The nearby swimming baths (Therme Bad) is small, but it's perhaps the newest, cleanest, most stylish baths I've ever been to, and it has an outdoor area with views of the mountains. It was open till 9:00 p.m..

This hotel is operated by the most friendly and helpful lady we ever met on 4 continents. She tries
to help you in any situation (it does not matter, if it is a simple advise or a handwork), provides
you with information of any kind in a quite professional style. The hotel is clean, very comfortable, it is located in a "strategic" place, very suitable for visiting various castles (including Neuschwanstein), lakes, landscapes both in Germany and Austria. The price is more than reasonable.

We had quite a spacious room with livingroom, balcony with chairs, table and a clothes dryer rack ,kitchenette and a doublebed room. Frau Helmer kindly placed an extra child cot for my 3 year old daughter with no extra charge. The bed was big enough for the 3 of us. Our room had everything one needs for a comfortable holiday especially useful for stays of more than a week. We stayed for only 3 nights. Our daughter was pleased that LP had a child's playground with lots of toys,a sandbox and a Trampolin. In the breakfast room, there are also lots of toys, games and books for babies and children. There are also books/novels for one's reading pleasure although mainly in German. DVD movies to rent for a minimal charge since there is a DVD player in the room. So even when the weather is wet outdoors, one need not feel bored indoors. There are also many places of interest to visit such as the King Ludwig's castles(Lindenhof and Neuschwanstein). For ramblers and hikers, the beautiful surroundings with mountains and lakes offers the ideal routes to venture and track. We especially enjoyed the Alpenthermebad(hot springs pool). It has a sauna, water slide, outdoor whirlpool and also a baby/child’s pool including a slide too. Driving to this place from LP is only 10mins. As well as Mc.D’s in the near for a quick bite.
At LP, the option to have breakfast in the common room is provided by Frau Helmer which is not included in the room price. It is more of a Continental breakfast spread. Useful for those who don’t want to bother preparing it themselves in the rooms.
The only unpleasant experience we had during our stay was the eating experience at the Pizzeria Ristorante Toskana, Reutte. We were on our way back to LP in the evening after a long day sightseeing and our daughter was pestering us to eat spaghetti. So, we stopped at this restaurant located on Lindenstrasse. The food served were either smelling perishable, under baked or using alternative(cheaper)ingredients. Not that the prices were cheap, on the contrary! My husband developed a stomach ache the following 1.5 days. He almost wanted to make a report to the Food & Hygiene control.
We have no negative comments for Landhaus Panorama.
