One of the most beautiful hotel if it's not The most beautiful . Great Service, all the employees are at your disposal, recognizing you by your name when you are walking, in the restaurant or on the beach. Well placed, great Restaurants, wonderful vegetation. Splendid room, we had Junior Suite and it was enough no real need of the Senior suite or Villas if you are only a couple. We came of our Marriage anniversary and the Sea Horse Restaurant offered us a great diner. I'll recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms are well placed, if you have choice take the room with a number under 50, closer to the re...

First off, when booking, get half board included in your reservation. Buying it on the spot is charged at 68€ per person/day. Without HB the food is quite expensive. I understand that as every ingredient has to be imported and is heavily taxed.

So far for the price downside. The midday meals and deinks in general are prixed fairly.

Then, the upsides:
- the hotel is located in a beautiful lush tropical garden/forest. When walking up the short path from the conciergerie to thz uppzr reception, you almost feel like walking in a Indiana Jones movie
- well equipped rooms with free on demand music and movies
- for the golfers amongst us, don't miss out on playing the course. No green frees but an acceptable 50€ to rent a buggy. The course has a flat challenging part and a hilly back nine that will rake your breath (and more then likely a couple of balls) away.
- for half board you get a great buffet (varied food, tandoori corned,...) and 2 a la carte restaurants where save from 1 or 2 expensive dishes such as lobster you can eat as many times as you wish without further costs and dishes are nicely done and fine-dining worth.
- comitted staff. Management want to keep pulse with the guests and don't hesitate to work the tables or the reception. We had dome minor glitches in the beginning and they did what they had to to accomodate us and win or hearts.
- peronal welcome: you're take. To the bar, get a drink and a wet towel. You're explained what you need to know. Once you get driven to your room, your luggage is already there waiting with a bottle of bubbles and a couple of other surprises (some are edible, some you can wear on a golf course!)
- all around attention to details, such as a wet towel you get at the buffet entrance, the staff quickly rembers tour name and room number for a personalized greeting.
- great specialty dinner possibilities (sundowner cocktail, dinner on the beach or in a secluded pavilion, ...)

All in all, the hotel is more then worthy of it's stars.

I am used to stay in hotels that belong to the 'Leading Hotels of the World'. Constance Lemuria Seychelles is simply not up to standard. Food (lunch and dinner) is expensive and with low quality.

The Constance Lemuria Seychelles certainly has its positive points, but after doing a 'Cost benefit analysis' (what you pay and what you get), I came to the conclusion that it was my first and last time at that hotel.

Very Expensive and does not deliver the quality and service for this cost. Extremely disappointing.

Slow check in, moved from one location to the next and waited longer than necessary.
Room smelt very damp, requested to change rooms and were moved to a room which wasn't a lot different, their excuse was that they hadn't painted for a while and the walls get damp from being near the ocean, weak excuse for 5*
It took hours to move us to the new room and a reminder from reception to concierge team, we didn't get the key till later in the day.
Beach front rooms are not on a usable beach as its too dangerous to swim here, you need to walk around 500 meters to get to the small bay if you are in a room towards the end as we were #69. You can order golf buggies but this can take time to come.
Food was a disappointment, the descriptions didn't match the actual food at all. Food tasted average but prices were extortionate for the quality. Good example was asking if the chocolate fondant was baked on outside and had runny choc on inside, waiter said the chef would "try" to make it and came back with a large bowl of dry chocolate cake....you don't expect to have chefs trial out recepes in a 5* standard restaurant on their guests. Somalier was very good however and knowledgeable.
All restaurants were fully booked 2 days in advance which we were not informed of until we planned to leave for dinner the first evening, this was rather annoying as only buffet was available. Once in the restaurants there were many empty tables so they are not booked to capacity. We went outside the hotel to a local restaurant at Castello beach hotel food was ok but still not cheap.
Very limited amenities close to the hotel, you can take a bus from near the hotel entrance which gets you around the island for 5 rupees, this was a lot of fun to do and get involved in the local culture, the hotel will not recommend this as they expect their guests to only take taxes and mostly not leave the resort.
Be aware of taxi drivers ripping you off!
Some staff become overbearing with their greetings, one staff member actually began to annoy us with the excessive greetings which were empty, I think we could have answered anything and his response would have been the same.....robotic and without any personable feeling. Need to learn how to be personable without being over the top, intrusive and annoying to guests.....not all staff were like this, local staff seemed to understand how to handle guests more than the non locals from our experience.
Great breakfast with good pancakes and egg station.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel on the Island or stay on La Digue (Island Lodge) and do day trips to Praslin fo...

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our 2 week trip. For me, the hotel is just ok and has all the trappings of a 5 star hotel but nothing really outstanding in my view - maybe this has to do with us staying at the La Domaine d'Orangeraie in La Digue afterwards, which we found with better value and with the extra wow factor staying at the villa de charme rooms - something I would highly recommend.
Anyway, this is not to say we regretted our decision to stay here.
The staff here are nice - some friendlier than others. The room (we had the basic junior suite) was big with a balcony and a good standard of furnishing. Rooms were nicely cleaned.
They gave us a huge chocolate easter bunny egg as well as other treats in our room which was nice.
There is an on demand movie/music selection in the room which was all free and that is a nice touch in my opinion.

One part of the hotel beach (near the café/restaurant and dive centre) was more crowded than in other parts - mainly because people flock here as there is a nice breeze. The other side was almost empty.
We did visit the Gorgette Anse beach by a golf cart but we had to wait for 20 mins before they could sort themselves out. One man was really angry waiting at the beach as they were late. The beach is beautiful as most people have already commented but with no sunbeds or facilities we found it more comfortable to stay by the hotel beach which was also nice.

The dive centre is a complete rip off. The charged us for a snorkelling trip where we were just left us there picking us up an hour later for a princely sum of €120 per person roughly 20 mins boat ride and the trip lasting no more than 1.5 hours. We mentioned this at check out but it doesn't look as though the reception staff was really bothered as it is a separate company from the hotel so I wonder if they really got the feedback.
But can you believe the snorkelling trip is more expensive than a diving trip even thg there is more equipment involved for a dive? That's because there are more people going for snorkelling than diving and they charge whatever they feel like and try and squeeze the most from you which is just plain wrong in my view. Management should really review these policies as they get on peoples nerves.

Overall quality of food in all restaurants visited was to a very high standard - absolutely fabulous but it can get quite expensive if you're not on half board so beware of the costs in advance and work out if it is cheaper for you to stay half/full board!
Breakfast was good with a good selection. The view from the restaurant was nice and we were greeted by beauty and nature each morning.
The restaurant by the sea edge was very nice and romantic - you should book here in advance because out of the 4 nights we were here, 3 nights were already booked (maybe to do with Easter time thg).

It is roughly 10-15 mins from the airport but surprisingly, we did not hear any airplane noise. We paid roughly €15 by private taxi from the airport to get to the hotel.

All in all a good and relaxing stay but I would consider staying elsewhere next time.

I initially started writing a much more reserved recommendation of the Lemuria Resort at a time where my other half and I were approximately at the half of our stay in Seychelles and were going through our second day of non-stop rain from early morning until late in the evening. But now that we're back home (and if I try to remain objective) then the bottom line is simple: Lemuria is an excellent resort.

What I liked:

- The Facilities: the hotel is designed with taste around the lush vegetation. It gives you the impression of luxury and taste but with an authentic touch at the same time. Everything is extremely clean and you will never be annoyed with bugs, mosquitos, etc. in the hotel, which is sort of a little 'tour de force' considering the surrounding vegetation. I can't mention the facilities without urging all of you to take the 15 mins walk from the hotel reception to the closeby Anse Georgette beach. It is the second of three private beaches to which the hotel guests have access. I have been traveling to exotic islands worldwide and I have rarely seen a sea being that dreamingly blue. Seriously.

- The Rooms: we stayed in a junior suite during our stay, which is basically the regular room out there. Not the biggest room we've ever had but it definitely gets the job done. The room was tastefully decorated. Noticeable perks were the flat screen tv with completely free VOD (video on demand). That's hundreds of recent movies all free. Trust me that proves quite handy when the Gods have decided to pour all the rain they could find up there over your head ! You can also enjoy: free WiFi; a DVD player; computer services (using a keyboard with Bluetooth connection to the TV). Oh and I almost forgot the complementary bottle of champagne upon your arrival, which is always a nice touch.

- The Service: the service is excellent. Everywhere in resort (from the room service to the staff at the restaurants, the bar, the golf club, the concierge, the miscellaneous helpers everywhere) we found the staff to be extremely friendly and professional. It was not the kind of pretended sympathy you can sometimes feel in similar resorts behind forced smiles and greetings. People out there were just really friendly. We didn't get the impression of being just another set of annoying but necessary tourists (which we sometimes felt in Mauritius for instance). Everyone was dedicated to answering requests in a friendly and timely manner. Middle management of the hotel is also easily accessible. Quick story: My brand new iPhone 5 fell out of my pocket the last day when I was heading back from the beach to our room. I didn't even notice I was missing it it until one of the staff members knocked at my door returning the phone. The guy probably saw it falling from my pocket, tracked down our room number to return it like 5 mins after the whole incident occurred.

- The Golf Course: all golfers out there will definitely enjoy the very easy access to the golf course provided by the fact that the golf is built within the hotel property. So no need to take a car ride anywhere to enjoy a round of golf. Just call the club house and ask for a tee time, that's it. Rounds are complementary for the guests of the Lemuria. You only need to pay for the golf cart (something like 49 Euros for an 18-hole). Most clients are there to work on their tan anyway, so the golf course is not crowded and it's a nice experience to take your time and enjoy your play with no rush at all.The course itself is a pro course. Par 70. It's a beautiful course designed around the gorgeous vegetation and water hazards. But it is also a very technical one for the exact same reasons with the addition of very narrow fairways. So forget your driver and just iron-up all the way if you're planning on scoring. And bring extra balls. Plenty of hem. Holes 15 to 18 are far uphill and offer a magnificent view of the entire bay.

- The Restaurants: the hotel has 3 different restaurants. The main restaurant which is a buffet, one seafood restaurant and also a so-called gastronomic restaurant. In all fairness, and compared to similar 5 stars hotel we have experienced so far, the word 'buffet' doesn't give justice to the quality of the food at the main restaurant. Here I am referring to mere quality rather than quantity. French chefs are in charge of things at the restaurants. While France is not necessarily a label of quality on all matters, they usually know their stuff when it comes to cuisine. You will not be disappointed.

What was a disappointment:

- The Weather: after a couple of days of the dreamy postcard weather, we had non-stop rain for almost 3 consecutive days (!) out of a 9-night stay. Of course you can't really blame that on the hotel or its staff, but it was still interesting to see how they would react to what amounted to an almost crisis situation for them. Considering that enjoying the sun is maybe THE most important factor in choosing the Seychelles Islands as a holidays destination, the charms of the Lemuria quickly wear off under an extended rainy period because the hotel is literally not equipped to handle such conditions. Of course you can always enjoy the services of the Shisheido branded spa to pass time but let's face it how many massages can one get ?? So chose your vacation period carefully and may the force be with you. For the records: we stayed there from end of April-early May, which is supposedly the summer period out there but many locals mentioned global warming having weird consequences on the usual local weather.

- The Location of the Junior Suites: if you can afford the extra charge, I would recommend booking one of the Senior Suites or even the Private Villas. The hotel has 3 beaches and the Junior Suites are located right in front of one them. So how is that a bad thing right? Well, it wouldn't be a bad thing if you could actually see the sea from your room ! The entire view is blocked all the way by a barrier a various trees and lush vegetation. So even on a sunny day you do not get much light within the room and you are left with mot much choice than to keep the lights on in the room all day long. A forget about enjoying a view from your room. Unless you're a crazy scientist with a fetish for trees. The Senior Suites and Private Villas are located differently and do not seem to have that problem.

So to sum it all up, Lemuria Resort is a great hotel. You'll have a good time if the weather is on your side. For our second stay in Seychelles we were not disappointed at all.

We stayed here for a week in April before travelling to Mahe for a week (see my review of the Ephilia). We had a car, in my view a must ... which allowed us to see the island, take boat trips at our leisure and buy inexpensive dinks from the local stores. On reflection I would have split my time 10/4 days in favour of Praslin.

The hotel has 2 of the best 4 beaches on the island, the others being Anse Volbert for swimming (make sure you go to Cafe des Arts at Volbert for a drink or meal - sit on their spring chairs on the upstairs balcony for a superb vista) and Anse Lazio (a bigger version of Anse Georgette).

Anse Georgette at the Lemuria is probably the most beautiful beach you will ever visit. The golf course you walk through to get to it is excellent and free (bring your clubs otherwise pay c€80 per round to hire them) with beautiful views from the 15th tee.

The junior suites are superb and well appointed, all with balconies and private as there are only four per building. We stayed in suite 46, private, yet close enough to be near the restaurants, golf course and Petit Kerlan beach. I found the air conditioning to be fine and anything you wanted would be there in minutes. The Apple TV with loads of stored films and music was superb but we were nearly always to busy to watch it! Two free bottles of water were provided daily and a complimentary bottle of champagne on arrival ... well it was my fiftieth! We also had room service as part of our half board option one night when we were really tired. By the way half board is the only way to go ... Great value.

There are 3 restaurants ... however we nearly always ate in the Legends buffet which was superb for breakfast and enhanced by delivery of themed food options each night (we especially liked their Indian and International buffets). There were always alternative choices too. Drinks are over-priced, hence my suggestion to mix and match by buying local for consumption in your suite. Dining is elegant (long trousers) which I originally thought ridiculous in the heat, but gradually came around to because it gave a certain glamour to proceedings.

The staff were friendly and good at their jobs from the chefs to the cleaners! Always plenty of towels and comfy padded sunbeds at the beach or pools too. We visited a number of other hotels to have a 'nosey' ... The Lemuria is the best!

Finally ... the reason Praslin is best ... well we took boat trips from Volbert to Curieuse (say hello to the tortoises for me) and St Pierre (great snorkeling) from outside Cafe des Arts ... we also took the ferry to La Digue (spend at least a day there) ... and from La Digue we organised another day trip with Nevis Ernesta (see activities on La Digue) who took us to Grand Soeur, Isle de Cocos and Felicitie as well as providing a superb BBQ of grilled barracuda and freshly made salads for us ...

You can see why I recommend spending more time on Praslin!

Each night it was bliss to retire to the Lemuria's superb suites ...

Room Tip: Book an upper floor suite!
