“Fine but not the best reception”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

The rooms and the wellness department is very nice and the restaurant is also really god.

The rooms can be warm enough but the heat was not turned on and the window was open. In the winter and i 4 degrees below zero. There where about 5 degrees in the room on arrival. With in two days there where reasonable temperature, but then it was time to leave.

The wellness department is very fine and there a a nice selection of treatments and saunas. The administration of getting the treatments booked is very bad and it was changed tree times within two days. So make sure to get your bookings in writing and conformed.

The food in the restaurant is god and very tasteful.

Room Tip: If in winter then make sure that they have heated the room in preparation. Paying ekstra to get one...

Do not trust this place!!! We booked a weekend on their on line booking which stated one total price for the stay. Then after we booked the stay the price was suddenly higher! We phoned the reception and was told that the higher price was the right one and could not be changed. But that was not all - the day before we were going to the hotel, they called and told us that we could not get the stay at that price. It was a mistake in the booking system. It would now be double the price!!! We could not talk to a manager and we think this is the worst sort of behaviour from a hotel we have ever witnessed. We will never go there and advise others not to go there if they want to be sure of a stay with good service and where you can count on what you booked! Changing everything the day before we were to go there even though they had talked to us severel weeks earlier and not told us that there was any problems with the reservation!

The location is excellent. The rooms are 70's style and more hostel like. Requires a lot of maintenance.
Service at the reception appears not very competent.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in June 2011. I was excited to visit Romo, as the descriptions of it in my Lonely Planet made it sound like it was a beautiful place to visit, etc.....sadly, we were unimpressed. We were not greeted very warmly when we went to check-in, and the service at the hotel from there pretty much just plummeted. We paid for the room upon arrival and the receptionist did not inform us that we would be charged an extra 3.75%, if we used our credit card - we found out AFTER the fact. The next day we had some questions about the horse back riding and the receptionist that day gave us major attitude for absolutely no reason - she was miserable. I considered cancelling my horse back ride simply based on the fact that her service was so terrible and I was quite angry at how she treated us.

The rooms themselves are clean, and average. They come with a double bed, little kitchen area, eating area, loft upstairs and very small bathroom. The furniture has been updated and nice (IKEA), but the rest of the rooms are a little tired looking. The bathrooms are in dire need of a renovation. Dark and damp, the shower set-up is the worst I have seen with just a shower head in the middle of the bathroom, and water gets ALL OVER the entire floor. They give you a squeegie to deal with the flood of water. The addition of fridge, microwave and stove-top is a nice feature and handy given the prices of food in Denmark. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good in comparison to what we have seen throughout our trip in Europe so far. A selection of breads, meat, cheeses, muesli, yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausages, juices, coffee and tea. Internet is free and a pretty good connection. The hotel offers horse back riding with the Icelandic horses at reception, which we took advantage of, though $$$.

If not for the poor hotel service, I would give this hotel a better rating; but so far, we have found the service throughout all of Denmark to be pretty poor. When the people are unfriendly, it puts a sour taste in your mouth. It was an ok hotel, but we weren't blown away and it certainly was NOT worth what we paid. We had an ok time while here, but will not be returning.

Check-in good. Ordered wellness both for spouse and myself. Only 1 of us got the wellness. In reception it was stated:"The hotel gives no guarantee for when a tratment is given" - if so, what is the point of booking? When we checked out there was no offer for reduced price - not even for solarium. My spouse was offered a new time for treatment, but we had other bookings, and could not wait.

We took a romantic stay for 2 nights. Rooms were ok clean, eventhough they didn't clean the bathroom mirror before we came, neither washed the wall next to the small kitchen area. The room we had could use some new beds - they were very soft and definitely do not expect king size bed. The same goes for the wellness area - the tea corner could be cleaner. The wellness sessions were ok, but to our dissapointment we did not get Hot stone massage as ordered. Their staff got sick, that is what it can happen. But they forgot to tell us. So when we turned up all ready in our bathrobes, it was a quite a dissapointment. Restaurant - first night fish buffet - very good. The next day
other dish - not that great. The restaurant is cousy, but the hygiene could be much better - the table cloth wasn't changed the 3 days we were there. Also old flowers in the vase. The waiters shirt was hanging out of his pants...Well - all together, we had a good stay, but do not expect more then it is - maximum 3 stars.

We spend a week at Hotel Kommandoergaarden in October and had a great vacation. We, a family of 3, have been horseback riding on icelandic horses (we were all 3 more or less beginners - it was great) in the great nature of Rømø, we have been collecting oesters at the "Vadehav", and have had great honey massage in the hotels Spa. Our daughter has been playing in the aventure playground "Legeland" that is just next to the hotel. The fishbuffet at the hotel was great ! We will be back soon.
