After booking three weeks in advanced we were very excited to attend for Sunday lunch. Having already been for dinner there when it was under previous ownership we knew what to expect with regards to the actual place and as before the surrounds are lovely. Our visit got off to a good start promptly taking a drinks order which quickly arrived, nice bread etc all very nice, however when they came over with the menus they informed us that one of the three starters had sold out. Of course the starter we were all intending to have.. That's four adults out if a party of seven disappointed. We chose a different starter which was very nice however dissapointed that such a limited menu was even more restricted. For main we all chose roast Lamb, again only three options one if which was fish pie my mother being allergic so she didn't have much choice. It was very nice, however when asking for some more gravey was told.. Sorry the chef has used it all. So far two course, both accompanied with a side of disappointing! Finally dessert.. Which if course I'd already chosen when looking at the menu at the start ... But yep you've guessed it the dessert we were all really excited about... One left! So I guess one better than starter, only three disappointed adults. When ordering for the kids they were not at all accommodating. The head waiter was unhelpful and appeared to have an attitude, although he did try to get his point across that they only used fresh produce which is why they had run out of something on every course. Very very disappointed. The food very good, however not my idea of fine dining. I've never been to any fine dining restaurant and been told they'd run out!
